Annex 5: Branding and Marking Plan for

Grantees
for Mixed Secondary School "Safet Krupic" for Training for the future
Grant No. WHAM-N-0-377-G-088

Background and Guidance per the U.S. Agency of International Development

(USAID)
(a) It is USAID policy that USAID-financed commodities and shipping containers,
and program construction sites and other program locations be suitably marked
with the USAID emblem. Shipping containers are also to be marked with the last
five digits of the USAID financing document number. As a general rule, marking
is not required for raw materials shipped in bulk (such as coal, grain, etc.), or
for semi-finished products which are not packaged.
(b) Specific guidance on marking requirements should be obtained prior to
procurement of commodities to be shipped, and as early as possible for program
construction sites and other program locations. This guidance will be provided
through the cognizant technical office indicated on the cover page of this
contract, or by the Mission Director in the Cooperating Bosnia and Herzegovina
to which commodities are being shipped, or in which the program site is located.
(c) Authority to waive marking requirements is vested with the Regional
Assistant Administrators, and with Mission Directors.
(d) A copy of any specific marking instructions or waivers from marking
requirements is to be sent to the Contracting Officer; the original should be
retained by the Contractor.
The grantee shall comply with the requirements of the USAID “Graphic
Standards Manual” available at www.usaid.gov/branding, or any successor
branding policy.

All estimated costs associated with branding and marking are including in the
approved budget.

Description of Activity

Our project "Training for the future" will be implemented in the Municipality of
Bosanska Krupa in cooperation with the Mixed High School "Safet Krupic" and a
local company. The goal of the project is to train a total of 55 participants, of which
at least 40 will be young for CNC operators, Welders and Grinders. The project is

“Krupa Kabine” will pay participants a fee for travel expenses and provide a meal
for each day spent in the company. Total value of project is 95,824.49 BAM, of
which the amount of 55,057.81 BAM is financed by WHAM, the amount of
13,504.03 BAM is participation from Municipality and company “Krupa Kabine”, and
the amount of 27,262.66 BAM is cost share.

Branding Strategy

The purpose of this branding strategy is to describe how Mixed Secondary School
"Safet Krupic" implementing the activities described above supported by the
USAID-funded Workforce and Higher Access to Markets (WHAM) Activity will
publicly acknowledge USAID support. This acknowledgment includes how the
activity is named and positioned and how USAID’s support is promoted and
communicated to our beneficiaries and other citizens.

1) Positioning –The title of this activity is Training for the future. Because this
activity is partially funded by USAID or only represents part of Mixed
Secondary School "Safet Krupic" portfolio, USAID’s name does not
appear in the title of the activity. Mixed Secondary School "Safet Krupic"
will proactively acknowledge USAID support throughout the life of this
activity by stating in relevant correspondence and written and verbal
communications that the activity has been “made possible by (or with) the
generous support of the American People.” (The phrase “made possible by
(or with) the generous support of the American People” should be translated
into Language for the purposes of this branding strategy.)

2) Program Communications and Publicity

a. The primary and secondary audiences for this activity are:

 Unemployed youth and

 Unskilled workers.

b. The communications or program materials that will be produced as a

result of this activity and will be used to explain or market the
program to our beneficiaries include:

statement in # 1, positioning.)
N/A

d. We plan to announce or publicly promote this program to our

beneficiaries. Planned promotional activities include:

 Media releases,
 Press conferences and
 Public events.

e. Other ways that we will increase awareness that this program is

supported by the American People include:

Logos from our donor will be positioned in all print and web materials.

3) Acknowledgements – We do not plan to acknowledge support from any

organization of Government institutions. Since USAID funding represents a higher
[or lower] level of funding than the other donors, USAID will receive a higher or
reduced prominence in all branding.
