1. A Client want to start up a four story building for his office in Demaagoda. You are advised to
prepare a design brief for the above project. What are the details you will ask from the client to
prepare a design brief? (20
marks)

2. What are the components of a site investigation report and why do we need to have a site
investigation report before designing? (20 marks)

3. Calculate unit rate per 1 M2 of 1 brick thick wall in stretcher bond with1:6 cement mortar in ground
level.

1000 Bricks delivered to site at Rs.15, 000/- , add wastage 2 %,1 M3 Sand at Rs.18,000/- delivered to
site, add wastage 2% ,1 bag Cement (50 kg) 1000/- including delivery and unloading, add wastage 2%
,Density of Cement 1420 kg/M3, Shrinkage of Mortar 35%

Mixing

2 Unskilled labour mix 0.30m3

Wastage on Mortar 10%

2 skilled +1 unskilled labour will lay 120 bricks per hour.

Assume

60 bricks per 1M2 of wall. 0.01 M3 of mortar per 1M2 of wall. (20 Marks)

your answer.)
