The Information Systems of Arriba Taqueria

Introduction

This paper was written in order to analyse the information system of Arriba Taquiera. Arroba
Taquiera is a mexican restaurant which has several restaurants in Budapest. They sell mexican food
in their restaurants such as burritos, tacos and several other specialities of the mexican kitchen. They
sell their food at the locations of the restaurant but they also deliver food if someone prefers to
order it. People can order using the Wolt application or by phone call. The restaurants are located in
the city center of Pest and Buda in busy places where a lot of people goes through throughout the
day, which makes the restaurant popular for the people of Budapest.The company has a free
delivery over the 2000HUF minimum order limit. The employees are chosen regarding that their
qualification is suitable for the company.The business process and the information system of the
company will be analysed further. The paper will also include a website analysis of the company and
a social media presence analysis.

System analysis

Inputs

Inputs are materials time and energy that is required in order to maintain the process of the
business. These inputs are the following in this case: ingredients that is needed in order to produce
the food that is sold for the customers.

Maintenance inputs
These are the cost of the rent of the restaurants, water and electricity bills, cost of the salary of the
employees and several other things that is required in order to turn the inputs into outputs.

Outputs

It has two categories which are namely the waste and the useful outputs.

Useful outputs

These are the food that the company produced and sold to the customers.

Waste outputs

These are the materials that is not needed for the final product and is generated during the
production process. These are usually the waste food materials mainly or if a customer is not
satisfied with the product and ask for a new one. It also includes the paper waste of the bills or the
napkins that is used during the production.

Main components of the business system

It includes all the needed physical capital that is used for the production for example payment
system, the machines used during the production, the materials, and all the other elements that is
needed in order to maintain the business process. It also includes the employees who use and
handle these equipments. They are also a key element of the business process because without
them the production could not be complete. The right allocation of resources is a key factor in order
to keep the business profitable and the customers satisfied.

The main business process

The restaurant has one main process during their business process which is making and deliveryng
the food. The process looks the following: customers place their orders in the restaurants or via the
NetPincer app, an employee recieves the order and start working on preparing the food or tells an
other employee to do so and they estimate the time in which the process should be done, after that
the customer receives an order number while the employees prepare their food, the employee
prepare the food, if the customer would like to consume the food at the restaurant he or she can do
it after it is ready and in case of a home delivery the next step is that the food is delivered. After the
customer recieves their food and the payment is completed the business process ends.

Food making process

The identification of ingredients that is needed for the process is the first step. After purchasing the
ingredients it is taken to the location of the production process which is one of the restaurants of
Arriba. Then the order is placed by the customers which is followed by the production process. The
production process starts with the preparation of ingredients and the machines that are used for
during the production process. The making of thefood takes a couple of minutes and is prepared by
the employees of the restaurant. After it is ready it is packaged and served for the customers which
depends on if it is a delivery or its is consumed in one of the restaurants. After it is served the food
making process is finished.

Environment
The envirent includes the place where the production process of the business takes place. The
environment includes the surroumding of the production process which is namely the building of the
restaurant and the machines used during the production. It also includes the stakeholders of the
business which are the customers and suppliers who are in contact with the company during the
production. The customers are the ones who consume the outputs of the business and the suppliers
are the one who play a key role in order to provide the neccessary materials for the company in
order to maintain the production process and to help to rum the business.

Feedback loop

The feedback loop is used in order to receive a feedback fr the consumers about their satisfaction
regarding the product that they purchased. It is sueful for the company in order to improve on some
elements of their business process and production and to provide a better quality and to imporve on
some parts of the business if it is needed. The customers can rate the quality of the services and the
food on several places for example via the Wolt app or via phone call or email. The employees then
assess the feedbacks and decides weather any improvement is needed or if the customers were
satisfied with the products or services of the company.

BPMN Flowchart

On the BPMN chart it is shown that how is an ordering process looks like in practice. First the order
is placed then the customer can decide weather they want some extra toppings or not. Then if every
ingredient is chosen the preparation of the burrito is the second step. After the payment the delivery
of the burrito is the last step of the project.
Website analysis

Up to date?

In the bottom of the website 2014 is written so it was made in that year. It means that the website is
over 5 years old since it was made so it is not really up to date or was not made any progressions
during this period. The website although looks modern and up to date and several useful
information can be found on it. The design is also colorful and looks decent.

Accurate?

The website of the company is answering most of the questions that might come up for a customer.
It is available in hungarian and english so foreign people can also find the information needed for
them on the companys’ website. The locations of the restaurants are accurate and all the relevant
information needed regarding each of them is provided on the website.

Relevant?

All the rpices and locations can be found on the aebsite and these are regularly updated. The
website also provides information about the products and the ingredients used for the production.
The information such as phone number and location of the stores are also provided on the website.

Easy to use?

The website is fairly easy to use and the users can manage to find what they are looking for fairly
easily. The categories of foods and services are clearly provided for the customers. The design is also
decent. The website translates everything accurately to english if the english version of the website
is used by the customers.

Suggestion for improvements

The website is overall decent but it could be improved on some of its elements for example they
could add other languages to the existing two in order to make it useful for people who do not
speak english or hungarian. The website could be updated more often and they could add some
more information to it but overall it is decent in my opinion.

Social media presence

The company is present on two highly used social media sites whoch are Facebook and Twitter
according to their website. On these surfaces the company provides information for their customers.
The information provided on these social media sites are matching the information provided on the
website but also some news and sales or offers are published on these social media sites that are for
some period of time and not temporary which means that they are not relevant for the website
because of the time limit. The company is also present on Instagram but it is not mentioned on the
website of the company.
