able to identify and label the parts of a virus.
Unit outcomes:
At the end of this unit, students will be able to:
1. Differentiate between bacteria and viruses.
2. Describe the types and structure of viruses.
3. Identify the medicines used against bacteria.

Resources
Following are the resources required to complete this unit:
1. Whiteboard, marker

3. Projector (students will be aware of the benefits of using internet for educational
purposes)
4. PowerPoint Presentation
5. Notes (boost the writing skills of students)
6. YouTube videos
7. Pictures of viruses and bacteria
8. Google Classroom

Teaching Strategies:
I will utilize the following strategies and methods in my lesson:
1. Visualization
2. Cooperative learning
3. Technology in the classroom
4. Enquiry based instruction
5. Professional development
Methods:
1. Lecture method
2. Demonstration method
3. Class discussion

Summative Unit Assessment:

● For summative Unit Assessment

Assessing the learning of students by the tests completed by them. Teacher will upload the
test on Goggle Classroom and students are expected to complete and turn in the test over
there.
The test will contain the following questions:
1. What is the difference between a virus and bacteria? Write at least two differences.
2. How can we get rid of any virus?
3. Which medicines are used for bacterial diseases?
4. How many types of viruses are there?
5. What are microorganisms?
● Conducting a complete and concise research on any topic:

Research about the advantages of bacteria in daily life.

Each student is expected to draw a table having two columns. In the first column write
the name of the bacteria and in the second column write the advantage of that bacteria.
Students are allowed to use library and internet sources to conduct this research.

Evaluation Strategies
 Individual assignment to assess the learning of students.
 End of unit test uploaded at Google classroom
