How Can You Integrate Technology to Different Learning Theories?

(This report focusses on Compliance Learning Theory)

Compliance Means in General

Means conforming to a rule, such as a specification, policy, standard or law (Roebuck, 2011).

What Technology provides?

It provides instant accessibility to information, which is why its presence in the classroom is so vital. Smart phones,
computers, and tablets are already an omnipresent element of everyday life for students and teachers alike. It’s only
natural that the use of technological devices in the classroom are explored to create meaningful learning experiences for
students of all ages.

TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION MEANS IN EDUCATION

Integration of technology in education simply refers to the use of technology to enhance the student learning
experience. Utilizing different types of technology in the classroom, including a virtual classroom, creates learners
who are actively engaged with learning objectives. The implementation of technology also creates pathways for
differentiated instruction to meet the unique needs of students as individual learners within a broader classroom
climate.

HOW TO INTEGRATE TECHNOLOGY IN THE CLASSROOM

There is a common misconception that the integration of technology in the classroom can be a financial burden for
school districts, but students do not necessarily need their own tablets or laptops to succeed with technology. The use
of technology during whole-class instruction can foster student engagement for auditory and visual learners. Integrating
simple technologies Power Points, games, internet homework assignments, or online grading systems can be difference
makers in students' growth in the classroom.

Compliance

Compliance deals with the legal and ethical requirements of technology use in contrast to their pragmatic use. It is an
essential consideration for schools to ensure safe, legal, and ethical technology use.
Compliance Concerns:

1. Privacy Laws
The strict new privacy laws are proliferating around the world. These laws reflect an accelerating trend in which
organizations are held responsible for safeguarding the private data of their end users- and can face harsh
penalties if they don’t.

Republic Act No. 10173, otherwise known as the Data Privacy Act of 2012 is a law that seeks to protect all forms
of information, be it private, personal, or sensitive. It is meant to cover both natural and juridical persons involved
in the processing of personal information.

How can Institution comply with this law?

The educational institution must invest in secure systems that incorporate privacy by design and comply with
applicable privacy requirements.

Once the institution value compliance will ensure that new technologies meet security requirements or legal
requirements regarding student security.

2. Accessibility Standards

A. The institution must ensure that all websites and systems used by students, staff, and faculty adhere to Web
Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) as well as any applicable laws (e.gg. the ADA in the US).

B. Physical accessibility and financial accessibility.

3. Licensing Terms and Condition

The institution must ensure compliance with all terms and conditions associated with the various digital
resources they license.

The school must have a specific license software that are exclusive for specific users, such as faculty or
students from select departments or courses.
