• Connects existing customers (buyer and tenants) with prospective homes for sale or
lease
• Connects the real estate agency with customers/prospective clients to solidify loyalty
• Builds brand awareness in the local community for the agent/agency in a non-
threatening manner
• Organic or natural marketing occurs which occurs without the assistance of the
agent/agency. Eg Word-of-mouth marketing and is one of the most effective
marketing methods
• Sponsored community marketing which is promoted by the agency company through
activities like investments in the local community improvement initiatives or
corporate social responsibility.
Complete the community marketing profile by outlining how you would engage with
the community to enhance your own profile as the local agent and that of your agency
within your business development area. The profile must comply with legal requirements
as well as be consistent with ethical practice.
An example is provided in the additional learner resources folder for this unit in your course.
IN PERSON OUTREACH Delivery of business cards door to door in business development area and personal
introduction to members of the business development area
Set up pop-up stall in local Shopping Centre servicing local business development
area and conduct a “meet and greet” with members of the local community.
Organize a community event such as an Easter Egg Hunt, new years event for
different nationalilies in a local park or a street stall.
Create a business Facebook, Twitter page and add each member of the business
development area as they attend open homes, etc and post daily engaging content on
a personal level (not just real estate).
Post new listings (so community can share with their social network)
DIGITAL OUTREACH Take photos of happy buyers/sellers with their camera and have them share the
image to their Facebook
Email monthly newsletter to the database
PRINT OUTREACH Open for Inspection invitations delivered to local residents and
of properties that are on the market for sale/rent within 5 km
radius.
Just listed flyers distributed to the local area
Design and distribute coloring competition to the local area
For sale/For lease signboard at the front of property for sale or
rent with agent
