CHAPTER 2 DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

LOCATION
The location of this project are several rivers and canals that affect the Jakarta – Bandung high-speed
railway line. The conditions of the DK 72+00, DK 73+500, DK 75+300 are lowland area that tributary of
Citarum main river and DK 115+800, 120+500, DK 122+300 and DK 122+600 are small rivers/ drainage
city

2.1.1 Intersection/ Crossing river at DK 072 + 000, DK 073 + 800, and DK 075 + 300
The locations of the meeting of this river is in the lowland area which is a tributary of the main river
Citarum. The width of the river of the three locations is around 10 - 12 m with a slope of the riverbed
around 0.5 -1% and the depth of them is about 0,5 – 1 m in baseflow condition. Situation of the river

These three relocation sites have no pavement (in the form of land).

2.1.2 Intersection/ Crossing river at DK 115 + 800, DK 120 + 500, DK 122 + 300, and DK 122 +
600
The four locations of river / channel relocation are small rivers / canals which have functions as urban
drainage. With a width of around 4 - 7 m with a slope of the riverbed 0.2 - 0.3%. The image of the four
work locations can be seen in the following picture:

CLIMATE CONDITION
Rainfall data obtained from Cisomang Station is daily data for 15 years in DPS Cisomang Purwakarta
and 14 years in DPS Dago Pakar Bandung. For the needs of hydrological analysis for the needs of this
study in the form of maximum daily data every year.

The maximum 15-year daily rainfall of 250mm occurred in 2014.

The maximum 14-year daily rainfall of 187mm occurred in 2017.

LAND USES
Land use data obtained from Rupa Bumi Indonesia (RBI). All the watershed covered to the railway
areas with the above. The information from maps can be used to predicted coefficient in discharge
calculation, in table below shown coefficient run off.
