Dear Admissions Committee,
My name is Avram Dora Denisa, I am a 3rd-year student at the Univesity of Medicine
of Târgu-Mureș, Romania. I am passionate about science, research, I like to participate in National and International Congresses for students, to create and present scientific papers. I am an enthusiastic and highly motivated medical student willing to improve my knowledge and practical skills. My university studies have provided me practical experience as well as extensive theoretical knowledge in the key areas of medicine. I am a communicative person, with a great capacity for adaptation.
I have a great interest in traveling to Brasil, as I speak Portuguese and I like
discovering new exotic places. I believe that this program meets my expectations, allowing me to improve my knowledge. This practice could offer me a unique educational experience, as well as personal experience, as I could have the opportunity to interact with people from different cultures and nationalities. The Florianópolis program offers students the opportunity to immerse themselves in the incredibly diverse culture of Brazil while living on a beautiful sub-tropical island and making practice at one of South America's most prestigious universities.
I would like to participate in the project „Role of neuropeptides in the modulation of
PTSD experimental models”. This topic is one of my major interests and I would be intrigued to enhance my research experience at the Federal University of Santa Catarina. The symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder are often severe and persistent enough to have a significant impact on a person's day-to-day life. Future studies should determine more precise mechanisms of neuropeptides actions and the type of receptors involved in the psychological and behavioral consequences of chronic stress, particularly PTSD. I would like to participate in this kind of studies. I believe this exchange program would be a highly valuable opportunity for me and I could also apply the experience to my future career.
