The Nikto fired again from the barge and an explosive blast struck the
skiff, knocking the skiff on it’s side halfway into the pit. Almost everything on
deck-- including Han, Chewbacca, and a few weapons-- started to slide
overboard. The rope snapped, and Lando fell to the side of the pit above the
Sarlacc’s open mouth, but he managed to stop sliding.

 One of Han’s feet got stuck on the skiff and he was hanging upside
down above Lando and the pit. “Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!” Han shouted. Above
him, Chewbacca hung on to the skiff. Han called, “Grab, me Chewi! I’m
slipping!”
Chewbacca grabbed Han’s feet, and Han extended the spear toward
Lando, who was hanging on the side of the pit. Luke had killed the last
guard on the skiff. When he looked he saw more guards running out on the
barge’s deck. The Gamoreans were preparing the laser cannon. As the
guards on the barge fired at his friends, Luke leaped from the skiff to the side
of the barge. His body slammed against the barge but he caught hold of the
edges of a closed window.
Suddenly, a hatch opened to his left and a Weequay appeared,
holding a blaster pistol. Luke reached over, grabbed the Weequay’s wrist,
and threw the Weequay out of the hatch. The alien yelled as he fell past
Lando into the pit to the waiting Sarlacc, who ate the Weequay alive.
Lando lay still to avoid slipping more. Above him, Chewbacca
continued to hold onto the upside-down Han who extended the spear again
to Lando and said, “Grab it!” Lando reached carefully. Han said, “Almost…
you almost got it.”
But the Nikto and the other gunners fired yet again from the barge,
striking the skiff and causing Lando to let go of the spear. Lando shouted,
“Whoa!”
The gunners were about fire again when Luke jumped up onto the
barge’s deck. He turned on his lightsaber and killed the Nikto, then moved
toward the other guards, cutting their weapons and deflecting fired laserbolts.
Han extended the spear to Lando again. “Gently now,” Han said. “All…
all right. Easy. Hold me, Chewbacca.”
Lando screamed. One of the Sarlacc’s tentacles had wrapped itself
tightly around Lando’s ankles and was pulling him down.
Hanging onto the spear, Han looked up and saw a gun hanging off the
edge of the skiff. “Chewie!” Han shouted. “Chewie, give me the gun.”
Chewbacca passed the blaster down to Han. Han said, “Don’t move Lando.”
“No, wait!” Lando cried. “I thought you were blind!”
“It’s all right,” Han said. “Trust me. Don’t move.” (※ Questions 9-11)
Lando saw that Han was unintentionally aiming the blaster at Lando’s
legs. “A little higher!” Lando shouted. “Just a little higher!”
Han aim a little higher and fired. The laserbolt struck the tentacle, and
the Sarlacc let out a pained shriek as it released Lando, who grabbed the
spear.
“Chewie, pull us up!” Han Shouted. “All right… up, Chewie, up!”
Chewbacca pulled Han and Lando onto the skiff
