13th Age Monster Goals and Stat Blocks

Goals
1. Create monsters with stats and mechanics appropriate to challenge a party of six Level 1 adventurers,
per 13th Age Core Book.
2. Give monsters mechanics appropriate to and consistent with theme of creatures mutated and given
powers derived from the Tarrasque.
3. Make creatures reasonably easy to run for the GM.

Unleasher Level 1 Leader (Humanoid) Initiative: +3


Whip: +6 vs AC—5 damage
Special:
Unleash the Beast—As long as Unleasher is nearby, all nearby Mutant Beasts and Mutant Humanoids
become Unleashed. Unleashed creatures may use their Unleashed attacks and specials.
AC: 17 PD: 11 MD: 15 HP: 27

Brute Level 2 Blocker (Mutant Humanoid) Initiative: +1


Fists: +7 vs AC—7 damage
“You’re going nowhere!” (Triggered)—Whenever an enemy engaged with this Brute attempts to
Disengage or pop free, they must make an Easy (6+) save
Unleashed: “You’re going nowhere!” now requires a Normal (11+) save

Clawed Tentacles (Unleashed ranged attack): +7 vs PD—7 damage, and target pops free and then is
pulled into Engagement with this Brute
Special:
Amphibious—Brute can swim underwater and hold breath for several minutes at a time

Unleashed Special:
Spiky Bits—Whenever an enemy hits you with a melee attack, deal 4 damage to the attacker
