RIZAL had many accomplishments while in Dapitan besides being a writer.

Describe Rizal
and his achievements in the following occupations he had.
At least 3 sentences each. 5 points each.
a. Rizal as teacher:
When Rizal was in Dapitan, he established a small school that consists of 16
young boys from prominent family. He taught them subjects such as reading,
writing in English and Spanish, geography, mathematics and other important
subjects. He assigned community projects instead of asking for payment for his
services, which includes the maintenance of his garden and field. He held his
classes from 2 to 4 pm outside a typical classroom but in a space where he sat on
a hammock and his students listened on a long bamboo bench.
b. Rizal as farmer or businessman:
Rizal used his money from the lottery he won and his earnings from being a
physician to buy a land where he planted different crops and trees. From 16-
hectares, his land expanded to 70 hectares where he planted crops such as cacao,
coffee, sugarcane, coconut and others. He really invested his time and efforts and
even imported machineries from US that he introduced to the native farmers of
the area. In addition, Rizal also delved to other industries such as fishing, hemp
and copra. It was said that Rizal became successful in the hemp industry where
his products reached a foreign firm all the way to Manila.
c. Rizal as physician:
While in Dapitan, Rizal continued his service as a physician and provided free
medicines to patients who came to him that cannot pay. He also served the rich
people who generously paid him for his surgical skills. He also operated on his
mother, Dona Teodora Alonzo, for the third time. Although the operation was a
success, Dona Alonzo removed the bandages for her eyes too early that it caused
infection to her wound.
d. Rizal as engineer:
As a man of many skills, Rizal also exemplified as an engineer when he earned his
title of “perito agrimensor” or expert surveyor from Ateneo Municipal. He then
read more literature related to engineering to hone his knowledge and collect
more information for his big project. He constructed a successful waterworks
system in Dapitan despite having incomplete tools available.
e. Rizal as scientist or inventor: 
Rizal also spent his time discovering new specimens while exploring the nature.
He sent specimens that he discovered while he was exploring the jungle with his
students to the museums in Europe, specifically the Dressed Museum. He was
sent scientific books and surgical instruments in return from scientists that he
contacted. He also made contributions for different fields such as ethnography,
geology, geography, etc. Rizal was also able to discover three species which was
all named after him: Draco rizali, a flying dragon; Apogonia rizali, a small beetle;
Rhacophorus rizali, a rare frog.
f. Rizal as artist: 
As a known sculptor, Rizal also made several works of art while he was in Dapitan.
He delved into different mediums such as sculptures and drawings. He rendered
his service to the Sisters of Charity as a preparation for the arrival of the image of
the Holy Virgin in their place. Rizal modeled the image’s right foot and other
details and conceptualized the curtain used for the image. Another sculpture he
did was the one titled “The Mother’s Revenge” which was an ode to his dog
whose puppy was killed by a crocodile. Rizal also sketched some images, including
the three species he discovered and the fishes he caught while exploring Dapitan.
