BIOGRAPHICAL DATA

I am the first born and the only child of, Mr. Jhonny P. Javier and Mrs. Sarah F. Javier

both born and raised in Cebu. I was born on fourth day of October 1993, in Sta. Cruz, Manila, and

now residing at Philippine Naval Base, Samonte Park, Cavite City, Cavite.

I graduated my elementary education at Porta Vaga Elementary School in Cavite City,

Cavite in year 2006 and my secondary education at Cavite National High School in Cavite City,

Cavite in year 2010. I also took up a two years computer program and able to finish it in year 2014.

During the year of 2014 to 2017, I was doing a freelance tutorials, and that’ how I develop

the love of teaching. The grade level that I teaches is from kindergarten to grade 6, and after

realizing that I love what

I’m doing I pursue took up Education.

I enrolled at Cavite State University in Silang Campus and after one semester I

transferred in Cavite State University Main Campus in year 2018 and took up Bachelor of

Elementary Education Major in Early Childhood Education. After everything that happen the

sacrifices adjustment and this pandemic occurrence, in God’s grace we are anticipating the

graduation that we all deserve. A better opportunity and change to change and make a difference in

our lives, once I complete my fourth year in year 2021.


LETTER TO THE READER

Dear Readers,
Being a student teacher is not easy and I could say that this stage of my college life is the

hardest. We are the first batch to experience the online practice teaching. We experience the online

learning but plays in the role of being a student and this one is different. Even if we’re struggling

in different aspects of our life, we still continue because we love what we are doing and we are

passionate about the teaching experience and the progress we see and experience. All the

theories and knowledge that our professors taught us made us very confident in teaching and we

are able to apply the things we learn. It is very fulfilling getting good feedbacks from our students

and they are getting attached to us day by day.

Months from now, I will be a fulltime teacher and I am thankful that this program help me

a lot and had a big part on whatever I may become in the future as an educator. The University

gave us the opportunity to pursue this dream with the help and guidance of our beloved professors.

This student teaching portfolio is a compilation of document of my daily task as a student

teacher. This also includes the knowledge, skills and experience that I gain in this internship

program.

I hope that my portfolio will be an inspiration and a guide for the reader about the
journey and experience of teaching.

EXPECTATIONS FROM THE STUDENT TEACHING PROGRAM

On the first day of class as the incoming freshman in the college of education, you will
encounter different questions asked to you, One of the most common questions you will
encounter is why do you took up education, and this question will startle you. This question will
go further into the thing that we will encounter on the whole progress of the program. The idea of
practice teaching in my head is conducting a real-life experience of being a real teacher. I was
conducting my practice experience in my head imaging things that I can experience. I was
imagining it as coming and rushing to the classroom but this pandemic hits and on what all of us
are excited about we are conducting this practicum online. I know that I will learn a lot of
things while I’m in the progress of conducting this practice teaching. This first week allow me
to understand a lot of concepts that I see things that are irrelevant before. I was enlighten on the
concept of the thing that I’m learning inside the classroom during my lower years. I am looking
forward to the experiences in this practice teaching program, I am affirming that these
activities and program will hone me to be a better version of myself and also as being a pre-
service teacher.
I’ve already meet the pupils that I’m going handle they are the grade 5 – Matipid I was
looking forward to have a harmonious interaction between them. I was aware that these kids will
build and let me know and to measure my capabilities and push me to be the better pre service
that I can be.
I’m looking forward to my cooperating teacher , I know and I believe that he will share
all the knowledge and wisdom he have to hone me as a good pre – service student. I
want to build a strong foundation of communication to my cooperating teacher because this will
help me to start and to know the in and outs of practicing the teaching.
I would like to commend the effort of the Child Development Center to
accommodate us to your center. All of us are aware that this program also demand a time that i
taken from you. Thank you for welcoming us
I am affirming that these activities and program will hone me and co pre-service teachers to be a
better version of myself and also as being a pre-service teacher.
REFLECTION ON CLASSROOM OBSERVATION

The two long week of journey of observing and watching what my cooperating
teacher, Sir Sherwin doing and conducting his various classes made me realize about the
difference of being taught by the use of classroom pedagogy use in my class in college and the
real life scenarios you will encounter on the daily day of teaching inside the classroom.
This made me understand what my college professor always reminding us that what they are
teaching us is way far from the matter or things that we will encounter in real life scenarios inside
the classroom setting and yes now I couldn’t agree more about this, I was on the first hand of
experiencing it know while I was conducting my online practice teaching and looks way harder
to apply the things I’ve learn now because of the educational set up that we are up to now, but
this pandemic give us another platform and experience and gives another opportunity in terms of
the teaching experiences and the possibility of conducting it.
In terms of the classroom management teacher Sherwin establish the rules in the students
about the DO’s and DONT inside the classroom, In the first day of classes during the meet and
greet with the students he clearly discuss and inform the students about what he wants to tell and
what he expect everyone to follow the set of rules inside the classroom. While the session goes
on day by day he still remind everyone about the rules and see this act as a form of reinforcing
the rules he set during the first day of class and as I see this classroom management as an
effective act of managing the class because everyone learn the rules and applying it to
themselves. It’s a win and win situation between the student and the teacher because this rules
both save time in both end.

In terms of instructional strategies teacher Sherwin, use a direct instruction of


teaching he uses, instructional videos to use it as a part of introducing the topic to the students. I
see this instructional strategies that is building the background / prior knowledge to the
students so that when you are about to have the teaching proper the students able to answer and
participate to the class discussion. He also use independent study by asking the student to read
the power point presentation teacher created and let the student read the instructional material to
let the student have time to study. Teacher also utilize the modular time to the student to have a
productive break while in rest for the online session.
The online classroom environment is very important in this time of learning
modalities, a conducive and well ventilated and lighted environment create a different effect
during this online learning. I would like to commend sir for using a well – lighted environment
and also for encouraging the student to do as well and I see the changes day by day to the
students this well lighted environment is making progress to the online classroom making a
more .

The lesson planning hits me hard this time, its way harder to create Filipino base lesson plan
compare to an English base lesson plan. I struggle on thinking on what part this paglalagum in
English base lesson planning but I was happy that my other co student teacher are helpful and so
as teacher Sherwin for assisting me and giving a feedback on my submitted lesson plan and
giving me an inputs on my lesson plan. I was preparing my lesson this time because, I will
handled the assign group that I am in and putting the action on what I plan is also a different story
It takes days for me to execute the planned I made to power point and I was able to submit it to
teacher Sherwin and approve what I made and I was able to edit the activity on the learning
management system already set earlier the activities I prepare for the students. I was also
informed by teacher Sherwin that I have to limit my activities because of the learning modalities
that we are now in.
On the part of the center base on the meeting that Ms. Julie tells us these parents are
paying individuals and can demand thing to on their behalf and made me realize that we cannot
slack as a practice teaching because this slacking could reflect and affect the center. We are also
aware about the stuff that Miss Julie is telling us and made me realize that the school is not after
and have their stand on how they are doing and conducting this online schooling and still anchor
the rules and the implementation they made in the DepEd memorandum.
On behalf of one the practice teachers that conducting their practice teaching in the center,
we are thankful for accommodating and including us on providing an education to the Child
Development Center Students.
SELF ASSESSEMENT ON READINESS IN ACTUAL TEACHING

We start this journey as an education student, who was looking forward to be a ma’am
in the near future, we have different reasons why we took this course but in this time we want to
educated and serve our future student. As individual it is needed that we conduct an assessment
on our life not to just check how well we are but to track things and evaluate what we need and
things to improve more to be an effective and efficient practice teachers. Prior to the
announcement of the online practice teaching scheme of the school I was really contemplating if I
was really prepared and able to face this different modalities of learning that is available due to
the pandemic but I know that the fast years are the preparations of this online student teaching.

In terms of planning my lessons, prior on conducting or creating my lesson plan I took


time to read and search for the available learning and reading resources specially I was
teaching Araling Panlipunan for grade 5, what I need to improve in this part is to be more
resourceful and to look for a reliable sources for the lesson. While I was writing my lesson plan it
took me a lot of time on doing and answering what is appropriate to use on my topic and it also
took me time to see if the plans I created on my head is feasible on doing in or conducting it to
the classroom setup, but as the time goes by I see the improvement I made on all this aspect I
became more objective and content oriented in lesson planning.

On the learning activities, I became more aware about the importance of time because in
teaching online the time is limited, I see and evaluated the materials I use if this learning
activities is worth it and will develop and to add another learning in the students. I also choose
learning activities that developed the learners progress and use this to learning activities to
make the sessions enjoyable for the learners. I know that I improve somehow on choosing a
right and appropriate learning activities to use for my students, before during my younger years
in college I always choose the more colorful material but didn’t evaluate if the materials I used is
developing
a learning or imparting a knowledge to my student. But now I know I became careful and
consider principles in creating a learning materials.

One of the skills that I am good at is creating and using the art of questioning, one of my
professors told me that I am good in doing it and I always utilize it in conducting my online
session, I know that I also have to develop to state a clear instruction when conducting my
teaching. I always see to it that I’m giving a feedback to my students.

If I would rate myself if I was being an effective student teacher, I know that I have still
a lot of loop holes to fill in and need to develop and able to improve, I was raw and young on this
field that we choose but I personally know where I am good at and I am continuing to do all the
things I can do to continue being good and to do more on what I am capable of, I will and still
strive to do more on what I am best, one of my good quality as an individual is I don’t settle for
less, I don’t use tolerate the part ok. I know where I am bad at and I always find ways to deal and
to improve myself.

In this student teaching journey I know that I will continue to learn and experience more
and I am accepting all those things open arms and I will strive hard to improve and develop
myself.
Daily Journal

Day 1: 01 September 2021

Most of us are waiting for this day the announcement of conducting an online

practice teaching some of my classmates waited a half semester to pursue this practice teaching,

and now we’re here attending the parent’s orientation of CvSU Child Development Center.

We are informed about the Parent’s Orientation a week before it is being held, Miss Julie

as our practice teacher adviser required us to attend the orientation and to get familiarize about

the history , background and school policy of the center.

Upon attending the orientation I’ve learn about the policy and what the centers

educational visions. It’s a good form of building a foundation and making us learn the thing that

we have to understand and know the inside and out of the educational institution we are about to

be part in.

I also understand the reason why a parent orientation is being conducted, to be informed

and cope up to the things that they may encounter for the whole school year, and at this pandemic

strikes everyone is adjusting and adopting on the thing that is new to everyone a new Learning

Management System is introduce and have a little tutorial done on how we can use and utilize the

platform. This orientation also serves as a medium of transferring information and educating the

guardian on how they are going to utilize and teach their young learner to use the LMS.

My takes away for this day, building a good communication informing the parent’s and

educating them on the things that they are going to use for the school year is a plus to lessen the

misunderstanding and miscommunication between the school and the parents.


Daily Journal

Day 2: 02 September 2021

It’s the student teacher orientation in the College of Education and also the

student orientation in the CvSU Child Development Center. We are both required to attend the

aid meeting but Miss Julie let us attend the orientation on our department its whole day

orientation and divided into different topic and being discuss by different resources speaker. This

day I filled with learning and a better understanding on what role we are going to partake.

The first part of the orientation discuss about the proper behavior and decorum of the

practice teachers while conducting the said program, this part clear things to me and the action

that I have to be careful about because I’m not only bearing my name on this but also a reflection

on the thing I’ve learn from the teacher education department. We are also informed about the

duties that we are going to do and help our cooperating teachers and learn the first-

hand experience of conducting, preparing and experiencing the teaching.

This orientation also give us and clearer view on the things that we have to furnish,

submit and done while we are doing our practice teaching, we are asked to submit a daily

narrative on what are thing we experience and reflect on the matter and what are things that make

you realize as a good conduct and act as a teachers. They also informed us about the format that

we have to follow in doing the narrative.

This orientation awake me to the reality that I’m no longer play as a student, but I’m in

the stage of being a pre service teacher that will experience the first- hand experience on my

chosen field

Day 3: 03 September 2021

Opening of classes is one of the most awaited times of the year, everyone is
busy preparing the stuff they need to use on the first day of school and throughout the school
year, but this time, because of the pandemic this school year hit differently in every learner,
teachers, parents, and administration of the school.

We are included in the online teacher orientation of the CVSU Child Development
Center, it started around 2 in the afternoon and ends around late afternoon. Ms. Julie start the
meeting by introducing herself we meet miss Julie a lot because she’s also a college professor in
teacher education department, and the introduction goes from the office staff, faculties and school
utilities, some of the faces and names of the teachers are familiar some of them are the one we
observe during the our field studies. As a student teacher we also introduce ourselves to the
faculties.

The orientation start from informing the faculties the benefits they are entitled to receive
as part of being a teacher, the absences and the grounds for not conducting an online class in also
discuss during the orientation. One of the teacher that marks her personality to me is the one that
say “ naniniwala po ako sa kasabihang Every gising is a blessing ! “ and everyone is smiling it is
really indeed we needed positivity to surround us.

Everyone is adjusting and trying to cope up with the current modality of learning that is
available in the educational institution, and one of my observations that I saw during the
orientation held last Friday, I was aware that adopting and using new things such as an
educational platform that we are not familiar is exhausting and tiring , but not believing
and questioning it before implementing it is also not a good reflection of oneself & I like to
commend the perseverance of the administration to use and encourage everyone to use and adapt
the platform that is available.

My take away for this day? that as a teacher we have to continue and adjust in every
situation that we are in, specially when it deals with the betterment of the implementation of the
educational benefits of our students.

Day 4: 06 September 2021

The first day of school creates a big impact on how our student sees you as a teacher and

how they were able to communicate and interact with you, the first day of school can build and

clear things out of the miss conceptions they hear from you, especially when you are a teacher in

the upper elementary, one of the questions ask to teacher Sherwin is “if you are requiring us to

memorize the periodic table of element “ the way the student ask Sir Sherwin is like she already

contemplates what might happen for the whole school year, but as a teacher Sir Sherwin ease the

student and tell a thing to assure the student that teacher will be there all throughout the school

year to help and assist the needs of the student.

During the orientation period teacher Sherwin, let the student recognize one another let

the student tell something about themselves. Teachers also say the names that are maybe a

relative of the student, I see this thing as building a rapport with the student which is very needed

in this hard time of learning modalities. A teacher also state the things that the student need to

know, discuss the online class rules and let the student be comfortable during the first day of

class.

I was very agitated while joining and observing the whole day, maybe I was very

overwhelm about the reality that we are really doing it in the few weeks more. I was very glad

that teacher Sherwin is including and introduce me in the class, this act make me feel that yeah

I’m very included in this class.

My take home for this day is that as a teacher we have to build the connection / rapport to

our students we have to continue to learn and adjust in the situation on whatever situation we are

in, as a teacher we are meant to continuous learning, adjust and adapt in the situation.
Daily Journal

Day 5: 07 September 2021

Establishing and implementing a classroom rules is very important and it is mostly done

in the first week of the class. This rule will enforce and motivate the student to perform and act as

an individual who understand and value the rules we have in our classroom.

During the second session to the students Sir Sherwin also remind the student about the

rules during online session, he encourage everyone to remember and also understand what are the

rules he implement and remind them again regarding the online classroom rules. I observe the

effect of implementing this and see that the student follow the rules.

Sir Sherwin also inform the student that he is giving feedback, directly to the students. I

see this act as a form of motivating the student to perform and to their best during the class, as a

future educator we are aware that a constant feedback create a beneficial effect to the learner.

The internet connection on this is day is fluctuating maybe because there is a typhoon that

is currently occurring. The stable internet connection is a must during this time and during this

time of pandemic, that the new mode of learning is dependent in internet.

My take away for this day is I understand and see the importance of establishing the

classroom rules and management, this will save a lot of time for both the student and the teacher.

It also build a rapport and respect to build harmony in the class.


Daily Journal

Day 6: 08 September 2021

No Classes held this day, it was suspended due to the typhoon, but as a student teacher we

have to take advantage of this free time that we have, most of us are still adjusting and

adopting to the system and how this student teaching program will be done, a lot of questions is

ask but day by day we are being enlighten by our co –student teacher and our

cooperating teacher.

This day teacher Sherwin added me to the subject that I was going to teach during this

student teaching program. I was assign to teach Araling Panlipunan 5 on both classes assign to

teacher Sherwin it was the grade 5 Matipid and Grade 5 Maasahan. He also told me, that he

already enrolled me to the subject in the Learning Management System of the school and

encourage me to get familiarize in using and navigating the said educational platform of the

school

Right after I am informed on what subject I’m teaching, I randomly search for the topics

that I my encounter during the teaching program. I done this to prepare myself on what are the

things I encounter.

I was also transferring the written narrative that we are task to be done daily, doing this

narrative makes me realize that every action done is also a reflection of things we want to done.

My take away this day? We have to max out the time that we are free and I am happy that

I was slowly adjusting to communicate to my cooperating teacher, I was thankful that teacher

Sherwin is very accommodating to enlighten and answer my queries


Daily Journal

Day 7: 09 September 2021

This is the fourth day of our online orientation and class familiarization to the
subjects and to the learning platform. All the teacher are giving random activities just to
let the student and the guardians to get familiarize in using the learning management
system.
Prior to the start of the online class teacher Sherwin gives me a copy of his class
schedule, regarding on this I got confuse on the difference between the green and
yellow color that the schedule has, It has a representation that green schedule is use for
online schedule of the child and the yellow one is use for modular time of the students,
I ask sir about the link of the class and got inform that it for the modular schedule only.
It is really indeed that asking a question and be informed in good.
Teacher also discuss the topic outline that we are going to have for the week, he
also inform the student on the thing that they need to prepare prior to the teaching
execution so that the student are able to prepare the aid materials. I see this act as a
consideration that in this time it is very hard to go outside, by informing the students
ahead of time they can prepare and have an ample time to prepare.
This day I asked teacher about the book and reference that I’m going to use he
send me a cover of the books and informed me about the availability of an eBook in the
LMS of the student he also inform me that he’s the one who will teach the first part of
the lesson and I’m going to take over the class this coming September 20, I’m much
exited and agitated about the idea.

This day though me that as a teacher communication and informing things prior
to the things, stuff and activities create a beneficial effect on the relationship between the
teacher and parent relationship for the better outcome of the welfare of the student

Day 8: 10 September 2021

This day is the consultation day with our practice teaching adviser and I was not
able to attend the said consultation because the internet connection in our area is
fluctuating, the electricity supply in our area comes on and off and once the electricity
is off no internet connection is available in the whole area.
But as a student I still have to perform my duty that day. So when the internet
connection is back I ask what they discuss during the consultation day and informed me
about getting familiar about the faculties in the center. So what I did is I ask all my co
student teacher to give their cooperating teacher names and search them on Facebook
and get familiarize with them. I was also inform that the submission of our narrative
is every Monday, this narrative is one of the requirement of the college to submit
together with the other requirements.
This day I was gathering a sample lesson plan that I may use in creating my
detailed lesson plan I also gather list of Blooms Taxonomy in form of Filipino
language because I am teaching Araling Panlipunan which is based on Filipino
language as a mode of teaching. This is my first time in creating a lesson plan that is in
tagalog, this way harder compare in making an English base lesson plan, but like many
others said, we have lot of things to be done in first.
More doing and trying to start my lesson plan I ask sir if I have to follow certain
standard in making my lesson plan and he is informed me, he’s looking for 3 cognitive
base objective, 1 affective and 1 psychomotor, after I was informed on taking this as a
consideration was starting to analyse my topic see if what I could include in my
teaching objectives.

A take home for me, I if could turn back time maybe I also consider
doing my demonstration in Filipino, so I could have a background on doing and doing
my lesson plan.

Daily Journal
Day 9: 13 September 2021

It’s Monday and we have to start the week right. All my scheduled classes are in

modular type every Monday. I’m working out my lesson plan this day , teacher

Sherwin also inform me that in making my lesson plan, that I have to consider that he’s

looking for 3 cognitive , 1 affective and 1 psychomotor to include in the objective.

One thing that I’m having a hard time is creating my whole plan. I‘ve realize

that its way harder to create a detailed lesson plan using the Filipino language, compare

to English language. I stock every time I have to think of a more appropriate word to

choose in writing it down on my lesson plan and all of my co student teacher agreed to

me in this. I am way comfortable in creating an English base lesson plan but I will take

this to challenge myself to be more adoptable on what I may encounter in the real set up

of teaching in the future.

I also realize that this online practice teaching is gearing us to the educational

set up that maybe a trend in the future and it gives us an insight of the real life scenarios

that we will encounter in our chosen field. I am enjoying this journey and being

educated at the same time.

This practice teaching experience is taste of reality that we have to do and

prepare us to be the best teacher and let us understand the art of teaching and

educating in a continuous manner.

Day 10: 14 September 2021

It’s the start of the proper class on all the grade level, all group chat are keep on

popping and it gives me a thrilling and exciting feeling because it’s the reality that after

a week we are about to handle the assign class to us. I also familiarize on how I’m

going to use the LMS and I also observe that the student are adjusted and utilizing

it already. Teacher Sherwin also encourage the student to use and practice the said

platform, teacher only use the group chat to inform the student about the online class

but the links are posted in the LMS, I see this act as a way of promoting the platform.

Teacher start the discussion by giving or asking the student on the idea about

the word “ Lokasyon ” then continue to ask about the students idea. I see that teaching

techniques a top down form of breaking and discussion the topic. By doing that I

observe that the student could give and share their ideas in a manner that they

understand the topic. I also recommend that teacher give the power point presentation

to the student ahead of time to let the students scan, read and study the topic before it is

being discuss, in this way the student able to gasp at the topic and able to connect and

participate in the discussion.

I will imitate this way of teaching that teacher Sherwin use in teaching Araling

Panlipunan it seems effective in the students because they able to answer the follow up

questions of teacher after the lesson proper.

Day 11: 15 September 2021

Time is ticking, in a few days we are going to handle the assign class to us. I

was able to submit my lesson plan to teacher Sherwin this day, I will just wait for the

feedback and correction on the lesson plan. I was enlighten about the idea of mixing the

topic to be discuss from another then teacher Sherwin informed me on the thing and

consideration that I have to do, for me to finish and execute the topic on the given

time ,in this part I have another new learning about this lesson planning. Modular day

again of the students that I am observing and like teacher Sherwin told me I have to

utilized this free time to produce or create a materials that our student could use. I was

also starting to gather photos that I may use in creating my power point presentation.

One of the things I observe in creating this power point presentation is to use a proper

font in using it that I don’t have to crowd the word in each slides.

Teacher also informed me that I am also a part of creating the examinations of

the students I am very happy hearing this, because I know that this duty is a big step on

building my confidence and also to challenge myself to do more and perform more.

One thing that I also observe and make me realize the difference between the online

class and a face to face teaching is that direct feedback given to the student.

May take away for this day is that I was refresh about the idea of lesson

planning, that teacher Sherwin thought me of ways and techniques on doing it. Indeed

experience is a key.

Day 12: 16 September 2021

I was able to receive the feedback for my lesson plan, few revisions have to be

done and it’s good to go. One thing I realize while sir explain to me the things I have to

revise on my lessons is that even on doing my plan I mess on building the continuous

flow on the lesson, this is also the observation / feedback that’s given to me during my

demo teaching days. Executing the plan that I made on my head and applying it and

making it real is way harder compare on just planning it. But one step at a time I’m

learning and understanding things now.

I was the one that end the class session this day, I use the given time to

introduce myself once again, made a little talk to them by asking if they meet my other

colleague in their other subjects and yes that made me build my small step in building

my rapport to my students. I’m much excited on what my first online session would be

like, I was re- reading and practicing on how I’m going to play my opening spill to

catch the attention of my students. I also discuss to them the class rules that we have, it

just to remind them to practice it.

I got nervous when in impromptu, teacher ask me to lead the class, and manage

it till the class end. Happy and Glad I was able to pull it off. By next week I will start

my class I’m very much excited about this.

Day 13: 17 September 2021

This day is the consultation day with our practice teaching adviser and I was not
able to attend the said consultation because the internet connection in our area is
fluctuating, the electricity supply in our area comes on and off and once the electricity
is off no internet connection is available in the whole area.
But as a student I still have to perform my duty that day. So when the internet
connection is back I ask what they discuss during the consultation day and informed me
about getting familiar about the faculties in the center. So what I did is I ask all my co
student teacher to give their cooperating teacher names and search them on Facebook
and get familiarize with them. I was also inform that the submission of our narrative
is every Monday, this narrative is one of the requirement of the college to submit
together with the other requirements.
This day I was gathering a sample lesson plan that I may use in creating my
detailed lesson plan I also gather list of Blooms Taxonomy in form of Filipino
language because I am teaching Araling Panlipunan which is based on Filipino
language as a mode of teaching. This is my first time in creating a lesson plan that is in
tagalog, this way harder compare in making an English base lesson plan, but like many
others said, we have lot of things to be done in first.
More doing and trying to start my lesson plan I ask sir if I have to follow certain
standard in making my lesson plan and he is informed me, he’s looking for 3 cognitive
base objective, 1 affective and 1 psychomotor, after I was informed on taking this as a
consideration was starting to analyse my topic see if what I could include in my
teaching objectives.

A take home for me, I if could turn back time maybe I also consider
doing my demonstration in Filipino, so I could have a background on doing and doing
my lesson plan.

Day 14: 20 September 2021

I spend all my weekend, finishing my power point presentation that I will going
to use for my class this week I submitted my file to teacher Sherwin at Sunday morning
and let him check the content of the file it was returned to me at lunch time, and I able
to upload the file on the learning management system of the center for the student to
have a copy of a reading material before the week start. I also able to upload the
materials that my handled class use for the whole week, able to set the submission tab
early so I can do more things prior.
It’s Monday and yeah officially I will handle a class been looking forward for
this since I start take up education, this day is under the modular schedule for the Grade
V – Matipid, I was tasked to announce the availability of the learning materials
and the task they need to accomplished for this day. It took me time to think and
compose a proper way of announcing it, and before I send it to the group chat of the
class I seek the approval of teacher Sherwin, teacher also told me I made a clear
instructions about the announcement I made. I was very glad and excited that I keep on
checking the answers that the students are replying from the question that I put in the
learning management system. Some of them are sharing a thoughts that I was looking
for, I already check the few works of my students and I always leave a message and
feedback, I want them to know that I take time on reading what they submit to me. I
done this because when this pandemic start once I receive a feedback from the stuff I
submit, It make’s me happy and motivated to do more and I want my student to feel the
same way I do.
I’m very much excited for tomorrow, because I’m conducting my first
online practice teaching and I’ve been rooting for this.

Day 15: 21 September 2021

I start my day by setting up my stuff early, I’m much excited because


I’m officially conducting my online class this day. I was the one who gave the link for
the meeting on our online class session. I submitted the meeting link thirty minutes
before our class start and gave an instruction and reminder to my student that our
class will start at two in the afternoon, but as I expect the students join the class earlier
and keep on asking me that they cannot join the class they were all 10 minutes early for
the time. So to stop them I start the class 10 minutes before the meeting. I know it was
wrong but still I started the class at exactly two in the afternoon, the 10 minute early
time, I use it to calm myself because I was very nervous, I use the time to remind them
about the stuff they have to prepare and welcome them one by one I also use the time to
try to communicate and make a conversation to them and by that way I was able to
calm myself, and able to perform my duty. One of the things that I will do next time is
to establish a clear instruction and spend time to ask them if they understand what I
asked them to do because this day I struggle to keep on explaining the same instruction
one at a time. The next thing that realize that I have to establish or to do is to encourage
everyone to participate. I ask random things and some of them is answering me but, it’s
always those students that answering my question. I ask about the stuff that they can
related and able to share their thought, like the cold weather that they can experience in
Baguio, most of them is keep on sharing their experience and it makes me happy that I
was able to connect in them with the use of my discussion. One students answer me that
he experience the flood in their area I ask him if he’s not leaving around Indang and he
answered that he’s from Dasmarinas I ask him if does he know the reason why
Dasmarinas experiencing flood and he answered me that he doesn’t know how to tell it
to me and he’s too shy to do it. I encourage him just to say thing in one or two and I
succeed he able to answer me. I see this day that as a teacher we have to the number
one cheerer of our student.

Day 16: 22 September 2021

It’ Mid of the week, I already conducted my online teaching yesterday I


would like to improve myself so I practice myself on how I am going to teach myself,
I was re running the discussion because teacher Sherwin informed me that “ the
transition of my lesson is slow “ I was also talk and told by my professors before that I
have to stick to the time frame that I only have and that was really hard for me, before
once I teach I was very much indulge that I forget about the time that I have to consider
especially now that the time conducting an online discussion
/ Lesson is only limited to 40 minutes. I was very much conscious about the time that
I keep on snapping and looking on my clock, because I don’t want to exceed again
on the given time.

But aside from the time, teacher informed me that I done well on my first online
teaching. I was very happy about that aside from the fact that I have to manage and be
more conscious about the time I spend. Online teaching is fun it way easier compare to
conducting it face to face, but we have to consider a lot of things on doing it. I also
realize that on conducting an online class you have to time smart, content smart and
able to manage more things at a time. Lot of stuff you have to prepare ahead of time so
you could utilize those on your teaching.

I also would like to take points that while you are conducting the online
teaching you have to familiarize the flat form manage and navigate it well. It will save
you from a lot of trouble and you could use it perfectly during the class. I also had one
dilemma I got scared about giving the meeting link to the student, I don’t know if this is
my fault that they can’t able to connect easily or I did something wrong about it , but this
always happen to the same child. To overcome this fear inside me ahead of time I send
the same link to my siblings and let them join the meeting so I could be at peace that the
link is working, I also let them leave and be admitted again in the meeting so that I could
be more aware and be conscious about it the next time I conduct my online sessions to
my students

Day 17: 23 September 2021

I join on teacher Sherwin class in science, we could really tell that the person is
trained in years of teaching because you could see and observe how easy it is for them
to transfer the knowledge and how they deliver it and the transition is smooth sailing.

My second time on conducting my online class today, I prepared early practice


and re run my lesson even I already memorize it and again my dilemma on making and
sending the meeting link make my energy drained, I really have to work this out or It
will ruined me and drained my energy everytime I’m conducting it to my online session
to my students. I don’t know if I really utilize the flat form or it’s time consuming
because I let my student type their name in the chatbox together with their favourite
color and on this day I let them type their name together with their mothers name. I
made this form of taking the attendance to interact and to have their attention on me.
It’s seems effective because they are busy doing it and participating at the same time.
Everything is smooth while I was reviewing the last discussion I made, as I can see
they know and they are able to recall all the question I ask them, yes its time
consuming but it’s worth it, because I know that they understand what I thought them. I
also observe and realize that it’s hard to conduct an online seatwork to the students,
even if it’s only a five items activity, it is hard for them to answer it all at the same
time, because I know that we have different phase in learning and different time of
learning styles so I gave them an ample time to answer each questions and I was also
aware that some are having difficulty on participating due to different reason I told
them that if we are unable to finished it we can continue to answer it on the next online
discussion. One of the student told me that he’s unable to answer the number 1 to 3, so
I told him to message me so I could send the picture of the question I present to the
class and few minutes after the session his able to message me and I gave him the
question.

My take away for this day, is to communicate to your students, so that


they talk and express their thoughts and ideas during the session yes its time consuming,
but it’s rewarding

Day 18: 24 September 2021

We don’t have online session today but I was finishing my lesson plan for the

next week. The reason why it takes a lot of time for me to do my lesson plan is I was

crowd sourcing for a reference book I need for the topic. It is very hard to expound the

topic out of the available book on the learning management system that is very limited

and not compose of the whole topic for discussion of the book, but as a teacher we have

to be resourceful so I was trying my best to look on the internet a reliable source of

information.

I also recall that on our session with the class yesterday, I ask a question and no

one is answering or replying to me. So what I did is to re phrase the question and most

of them answered me. I think this is what my professor told us before that in teaching

the “ART of questioning “is very important and needed to create a progress or to create

an interest on what you are teaching, I also remember that in doing it we have to

consider the age and the interest of the child and the ability or knowledge of the child to

connect. I was glad we are thought about it and it help me every time I done my

sessions.

I also ask teacher Sherwin this day if I have to include the certain topic on my

lesson and inform me that I will just focus on discussing the theories under my topic.

He clearly instruct me on the points I have to focus and the things that I have to discuss

clearly. Teacher also told me about the rules on posting and the time frame that I have

to considering on conducting it.

Day 19: 27 September 2021

It’s the start of the week. Modular time of my handled class for today, I joined

one of the classes of teacher, It is really needed to choose appropriate teaching style of

the way you attack or deliver the lesson , I just realize it while I was observing the class

during the science time. It is needed in teaching the concept of science to have an actual

experience or actual application of the topic. I also understand while I was observing

that we have to consider the time frame that the class is only given, in this part I really

struggle to maximize the allowed time and to finish the task that I planned on the day. I

know that it will reflect on how I planned my lesson but maybe the given time or the

allowed time in the class is also limited and I was having a hard time on utilizing all of

it in one session.

I was also having a hard time if I really needed to check the attendance of to just

maximize the allotted time for the lesson, but I did both and I observe the advantages

and the dis advantages of conducting it. On the time that I conduct the attendance

checking, it took me 7 minutes to be done and I observe that they connect to me in a

way that I know I catch their attention because all of them follow my instruction on

how they are going to replace the word present to the list of affirmation that I post

online on the slides. I was glad that they were smiling and happy while they are doing

it. And I was also happy because I know I catch their attention and I deliver my class

harmoniously they and they are answering, participating on me in every questions I ask

them.

Day 20: 28 September 2021

This is my third time on conducting the online class and I am still struggling
and having an anxiety of sending the link for the meeting room for my student this
happen when they ask me that they cannot connect on the meeting room and I don’t
know if that was my fault and I don’t even receive a notification for admitting them
inside the meeting room. I don’t know what to reply on it and that is the main reason
why always struggle on sending the link because the feeling and thinking that a child
wont able to connect again suffocate me. I was working it out I was practicing in every
time and still theirs’ always a one or two that cannot able to connect in the class I was
accepting it that maybe it’s their internet connection that is on fault.
From the past online session, I was told to watch the time that is only allotted
for the class discussion and to observe the phasing of my lesson and I was glad this
time I was able to finish my class 5 minutes before the time and able to make a recap
and to have an extra time for us to have a continuous question and answer, open
discussion with the class. I was happy they able to answer my questions and I know
they are interested on the things and to stories I told them because they are asking for a
follow up question and ask another question to reinforce the ideas they receive from
me. I also make a habit to tell a fact or idea to them so will impart and extra learning
from me, I know that they listen to me because one of them ask me if what I told them
on the previous online sessions we had he I clarify if what he understand or
remember is accurate. I also realize that on conducting an online session you’re on one
man team, you are the one that in control of the whole class session and also the one
that is responsible about the flow of the lessons and in that way I have to be responsible
and prepared for it ahead of time.

Day 21: 29 September 2021

Modular session on all my handled section today I was using the time to record
and to check the activities that the students submit on the learning management system.
I was having a hard time to give a score on the essay writing that I ask them to answer,
I gave a rubrics to them so they were able to comply and to know how the task is being
graded so to be fare I read all the answer they submit before I start giving scores to the
students I also take consideration the rubrics that I post on giving a score to the student.
I also gave feedback on each one of them on the essay writing task that they done, I
reply and gave feedback base on the answers they gave me, I’ve done this to build and
to let them know that I read all the answers they forward to me.
I also check the poster making / slogan that I ask them I was very glad that most
of them answer and follow the instruction given. I already saw the child that is making
a much effort because you will observe the difference between the works of each
student. I downloaded the picture of the slogan they send and edit it with words of
motivation together with their name and the corresponding score they receive from the
activity they’ve done. I also receive an activity that is blurry and I was having a hard
time to read that explanation she attached with it, so what I’ve done is to call the
attention of the child and ask her to resend the copy of the activity. She
immediately response and send me a new copy of the activity. I also check those who
unable to send the activity form the very beginning and remind them to comply and if
they are having a hard they can clarify things on me and I will extend a hand to them. I
also make a list of the student that still not passing the due activities and gave it to
teacher Sherwin I’ve done that to inform and update teacher about the status of the
students.

Day 22: 30 September 2021

This is my fourth time on handling my assigned class, teacher Sherwin


informed me ahead of time that he’s unable to attend the class because he’s going to
bring his laptop on repair shop. I was startle and excited because I was really handling
the class alone. I sent the meeting link 30 minutes ahead of time and still there is a few
students who don’t read the instruction carefully and just told me that they are waiting
inside the waiting room already even I clearly instruct them that the link will be open
at exactly 2:00 pm in the afternoon but I was glad few of my students answered and
explain the reason why they can’t inside the link because its 30 minutes early.
I was happy about the outcome of the class today I already know that I was
comfortable on conducting the sessions with them, we have an open discussion they
were able to ask a lot of stuff that I related to the topic and make them ask more about
it, I also encourage them to ask their parent’s to go in the national museum when this
pandemic is over, some of them were able to tell a story of their own experience about
going on a museum some of them are asking a facts about what could they find inside
the museum. I flash a jar that most of them are raising their hands and want to tell a
story about it, only to find out that they encounter the same jar that I flash to them in
one of their classes. We are keep on discussion the whole period and most of us don’t
observe or even me don’t see that the time is running out already. I have to ask them to
go back inside the class so we could took a photos for our attendance. When we already
inside the class they ask me if we could continue our discussion but I know that, it’s not
allowed and they still have their next class. Over all I was very happy and I know that
I’m starting to love the journey and the experience that I am having while doing the
class session and I know that I’m making a progress and that progress will help me out.

Day 23: 04 October 2021

Again I got a chance to join the one of the classes of teacher Sherwin in grade
6, I was amaze that time efficiency is very evident while teacher is conducting his
discussion everyone is listening and focus on the discussion, every minute is used
wisely, you can see the efficiency maybe this is the reason and effect of years in
teaching, you can easily observe the smooth transition of discussion. I also observe
that teacher is addressing the needs of the students, he is explaining the topic that the
students able to cope up and understand easily by the students, teacher use words
that the student can comprehend. In this way the teaching process is smooth and
every student can keep up on the lesson.
I was able to submit the lesson plan for the week after next as early as
Monday, I guess I was adjusted on the system and able to cope already, I was really
struggling, few weeks before, because I don’t understand the system and how to form
or formulate my lesson to work from one another, but with the help of teacher Sherwin
I was able to adjust and cope up, I also observe and learned the importance of
considering the allotted time on doing and decision making on what to consider to put,
add and remove in my lesson, for me this learning is very vital in every teacher, to
know and understand the concept of feasibility of conducting the activity to the
student considering the learning modality that is available in this time, it also
needed to consider the capability of your student on choosing what appropriate
activity to use in teaching. During the few weeks that I conduct this practice teaching, I
know I develop the skill in making the lesson planning. I even become more
considerate on the task that I want for my students to accomplish, consider the
learning objectives that I include in my plan, this is also the target skills that I want to
developed because during my early years in college one thing that I struggle most is
choosing the appropriate activity to give, the carefree me is just want to conduct the
task on the thing that “ I see and find cute “., but now, I knew that I develop and
somehow improve this skills.

Day 24: 05 October 2021

I have my online session this day, Tuesday and Thursday is now my favorite
day of the week, I gives me chills, excitement and everything that is not good to feel
but after conducting my sessions I was proud of myself, I was always give affirmation
to myself that you did well but you have to improve more, because I know I did my
best and I was sure that I impart learning again to my students and that is my main
goal every session I done, I’m proud to say that, I always hear a word or statement
from my students that can we continue teacher, we want more but it’s not allowed
given they have their next class. I was aware that not observing the time is also the
thing that I have to consider and observe, I was very indulge in the discussion that
even the students are not minding the time, we will just know that we just end because
the platform is already close the online session. I have to ask the student to go back in
the link because I was not able to have a picture for the session that day, I know that I
have to develop and to learn to be a more efficient on doing it and conducting it , but I
know my small progress is also a progress.
I also observe that my students is now more participative, before few of
them is participating , answering and replying to my question, but now, I was having a
hard time to see on the platform who wants to speak, and the students wants to
answer using the raise button in the platform. This whole journey is fun and informative
and I was able to apply everything that I’ve learn in the classroom, every session I
conduct gives me insights how to work and perform efficiently as a student
teacher.
I also understand the importance of establishing the correct way of delivering
instruction, most of the students are struggling and not listening to the instruction and
ask you to repeat it for them, next time I will ask their attention to focus so I could
establish a system and a routine to them when I’m about to conduct my activity.

Day 25: 06 October 2021

Modular session for my handled class today, I was able to receive the feedback
about the lesson plan that I submitted to sir last Monday, few adjustment are done and
teacher ask me to include certain topic and to study the topic thoroughly to be
prepared to be ask, by the students because the topic seems to be interesting to the
students.
I was glad that I already slowly overcome my fear on sending the meeting
link to my student, way back few weeks ago it was traumatizing and send me anxiety
and fear on what if my students unable to connect inside the meeting link this time I’ve
done better. I was instructed by teacher Sherwin regarding the exam that I have
to furnish, for the 1st quarterly exam of the students, before I proceed on doing it, I
ask what things di I have to consider or any point of instructions I have to follow,
teacher gave me point or keys to remember. I ask teacher about when will be the last
day of class before the exam date so I could count of to know if the lesson I include on
my table of specification is feasible for me to finish on time after knowing the date I
adjusted the topic and start computing the table of specification, I was having a hard
time recalling what do to so I look for the notes that I have and lucky found the copy of
it and able to apply to apply this before I proceed on making my exam, I also look for
an example type of doing or making the exam and it gives me idea. I also read and
look for reading material on the things that I have to consider before creating an exam
and I must say this is very effective because I was able to done the half of in just a few
hours. I just hope that teacher will approve it and my student able to answer it. I know
that I teach the concept and ideas to them thoroughly this part it will evaluate me to
know if the lesson made an impact of retain it to them after I discuss.

Day 26: 07 October 2021

Online session today on my handled class, I was discussing the same topic I
had last Thursday, and it’s not right not to finish this, it consume a lot of time already.
One of the reason it happen is I was not able to finish the discussion and I re run or re
discuss the topic, what I’ve realize is just give a small talk or recap for the lesson but
somehow I was happy because when I gave the assessment activity, they able answer
it because I also encourage them to finish it within the day and I also able to check half
of the class work and see that they really understand what I taught them, most of them
got 1 to 2 mistake only and I gave a tap myself on the shoulder.
I discover a new features of the learning platform that we are using, as I was
struggling in allowing and admitting my student inside the platform there is a feature on
it that they can admit as long as they have a password, it makes my life much easier
while they are admitting but the cons is I was not being notify whose inside the class
already.
One of the things I’m using to introduce the topic is to let my students get
familiarize about the words and to have an idea about it so when I’m discussing they
we’re able to understand or easily process the concept that I’m teaching this is very
much effective to me, because they we’re able to participate, discuss and share the
ideas, they also ask randomly and create an open discussion environment inside the
class and it also challenge to be more prepared because I know I will be bombarded
with lots of question, and prompting or giving this words to define is also building a
queries in them and it is reflected every time I conduct my session they have lots of
questions about it and it’s also the reasons I was not able to finish on time on my time
table because I was addressing their questions and I also have a lot of things to share
which consumed our time.
I was really thankful that Araling Panlipunan was given to me, it’s my favorite
subject and it’s making my practice teaching much fun, thrilling and exciting.

It’s Monday, I was able to furnish the copy of my exam and submit it to teacher
Sherwin, earlier than the date stated. I proof read it again before submitting it to
teacher, and it’s clear to me that it’s easier to create an instruction in English compare
to Filipino, within the day teacher return and the correction of the exam that I made,
and as I know a lot of correction is done in the part of the giving the direction.
I message one by one the student who’s unable to submit the task that from the
very beginning of the class doesn’t submitted anything. I follow up all the student’s
task and waiting for their responses and the task that they need to submit. I assure them
that they can ask me anything or if they need any help they can message me directly
and I’m willing to assists them. I guess this is one of the down side of the online
learning that students are ask to finish a lot of things from ten subjects within a week,
and this is also the struggles of the teacher because they just want to deliver the
learning the best way possible to the students by means of the different modalities and
learning task that they gave to the student. I also understand that students vary from one
to another they have their different phase and way of learning, this is also one of the
reasons why some of them are struggling to finish the task given. This is also the
concern of my co student teacher the number of student who’s unable to comply in the
given time we share ideas on how they encourage and approach the student to remind
and motivate them to finish the task. We understand the situation of the student because
some of them have a guide to help them, and some of them have to wait for their
working parent to assist them in their homework or seatwork and this is the reasons
why I understand them, that in this situation we have to extend the help and
understanding because we have different struggles. One of my closing remarks every
time I send a message to my students is “If you need any help you can message teacher
and I’m willing to help you “why I’m doing it? Because I want them to think and feel
that I’m willing and able to assist and help them.

Day 29: 12 October 2021

Online session for this day, I start my class 10 minutes before the time and able

to have a conversation with my students we are talking about the movies and anime

they watch. I can share one or two regarding the things they watch already I was doing

it to build rapport to my students. I can see that they already comfortable to me, we are

talking and tell stories to one another with harmony already and I was glad that we’re

able to connect from one another.

I was able to finish the task I planned to discuss this day as I can see it is very

advisable to inform your student ahead of time on the things they can encounter during

the session. It makes them prepared and be attentive during the class discussion they

even participate and ask randomly about the lesson. It makes me happy that I keep them

interested and able to connect on the things that I ask and discuss to them I knew that

I’m being effective teacher because once I ask randomly on the things I teach them they

able to answer and responses to my question and explain it to them, few weeks before I

ask them if they can share the thing they understand in our session and use a words that

they understand I guess this is effective because they express their ideas the way they

understand it. As I observe they practice the things that I remind them a few weeks ago

that if they want to go in the comfort room just send a message in the chat box and they

are practicing this already, I was not receiving an interruption asking if they can go to

the comfort room for the future use I will use this techniques to establish an open

communication and to explain the do’s and don’t inside the classroom to build a good

and harmonious relationship with my student.

Day 30: 13 October 2021

Modular schedule for my students this day, I was able to upload all the things
and file that my students will be needed ahead of time so , I will just post a reminder
regarding the things they need to do and remind them about the unfinished task and
activities they need to submit to me. This is one of the hardest thing that I am struggling
to my students, they cannot comply ahead of time I am encouraging them and telling
ways on how they can utilize their time and I hope that they can use it.
It’s a free time but not as if I have time to procrastinate, I’m learning to use the

online platform on how to navigate it and set conditions on how to use it for the 1 st
quarterly examination of the student. I was having a hard time to understand the
conditions on it and learning things on how to adjust the text formats when typing the
questions inside the platform. I was really struggling on understanding the different
tab that is available and have to set in it. We have to input everything one by
one and set condition into different type of questions type, but I see it as very
convenient once the students are done on taking the examination the only thing that the
teacher will be doing is to record the students got. It is indeed stressful but much easier
in the long run of using the platform. This is a very big adjustment in the part of the
students and also in the part of the teacher while conducting an online examination in
an online platform, but as I knew we cannot stop the education of this students and we
have to continue even on this hard time.
My take away for this day is we have to adjust and adopt in the situation if you
are a teacher we have to think creatively and deliver the learning in a fun and exciting
way of it.

Day 31: 14 October 2021

One of the things I’m praying when this practice teaching is starting is to have a
stable internet connection, I was glad that for almost a month of being a
practice teacher I don’t encounter an internet interruption during my session, but this
day is different due to the typhoon and recurrent instability of the internet this day. I
start my class smoothly but after 10 minutes the internet connection is starting to
fluctuate the first thing happen is its hangs my students keep on telling “ teacher nag
hang ka po”, they clearly hear my voice but my screen is not so what I did I check and
repeatedly ask them if they can hear my voice clearly, and that is the start of chaos this
day few minutes it comes ok again and it hangs again so what I did I off my camera
and ask them if they can see my slides and hear my voice clearly they said ok teacher,
but the rain keep on pouring and I knew anytime soon my connection will be gone and
as I expect I hang and then force to leave the meeting. Luckily teacher Sherwin is also
inside the class and he continued my discussion. I joined the class again with camera
off so they can hear me clearly without any interruption. I was very nervous and
agitated about what happen this is the first time that it happen and I was very nervous
that teacher will be mad, so I explain what happen and luckily teacher Sherwin
understand it. I also ask understanding to my student because of the poor
internet connection and they also understand what happen they also said that when it’s
raining to their area they experience the same thing.
I’m disappointed that I waste a few minutes because of the internet interruption
but I can’t do anything about it, so what I did I provide and refresher activity so they
can understand and use it as a reviewer for the topic.

Day 32: 18 October 2021


I was not able to finish the lesson, I planned last online session so as part of the
continues lesson I prepare an activity for my student to enforce and continue the learning
progress, but as I expect few of them will follow the instruction I ask them to do. This is
the things that I always remind them and ask them to do once or any of their teacher
posted something in the group chats that we have, but I also observe that they are
changing as time goes by.
I asked them to create a video reporting regarding the topic that we have, the first
group of traders that we have in the country they are going to choose between Indian.
Arabia, China and Japan and be the topic of their news reporting, upon checking the post
most of them are asking about the activity and enthusiast on the things that they need to
finish. I also finish typing the exam on the learning management system and waiting for
teacher Sherwin response and correction about the things I input for the first quarterly
exam of the students. I also sent messages to the students who are still lots of activities
that is not yet finished, I understand that students have different family background and
the availability of the students who could help and assists them varies from one student
family to another and this is also the reason why I motivate them, and encourage them to
ask me, so they could work and try to answer the activity by themselves, few of them is
doing it already but there is still one to two, who is not cooperating and not moving to
finish the activity.
But as a pre – service teacher, we have to find ways and encourage our student to
perform and finish our task. We should act as a friend to motivate and encourage them.

Day 33: 19 October 2021

It’s a week before the first quarterly exam of the my students, they keep on asking
about who make the exam if its hard or what it compose of, I keep on repeating my
answer that if they listen to our discussion they able to answer it easily.
I dedicate a day to finish my discussion for the last lesson that is included in the
first quarterly examination. I start earlier that the 2:00 pm call time that we have. My
student already understand and know that once I sent a meeting link they can joined
already and have that time to make a recap and a review of the past lesson and use it as an
open question / discussion for us. This is very conducive to me because I maximize the
time and let me have a small bonding for us. They are free to ask me if they have any
question or clarification about the topic that we have on the previous day. I also remind
them to start reviewing so they won’t rattle on the start of the exam, I even gave those
techniques and option to do or to follow so they could review effectively. I also remind
them that I’m one chat away if they have any questions or concerns.
During my recap one of the student’s chat inside the chat box that he is having an
anxiety of all the stuff and task that we ask them to be done, I understand where this
statement is coming from and I was actually sad that these students are experiencing it
because of the educational set up that we have now they are force to answer all the stuff
on themselves. I just response and assure him that he can talk to us and we are on chat
away to assists the things they need.
I was able to finish the discussion and inform them ahead of time about the
activity that they are going to do for the modular time schedule that we have the other
day. I also inform them that Thursday is dedicate for their review day and I will give
them a copy of reviewer for their upcoming 1st quarterly examination and once I sent a
meeting link they can join already.

Day 34: 20 October 2021

Modular schedule and a free time for this day but I was busy planning the next

topic that I will going to discuss a week after next the examination week of my students.

I was dividing the topic to be enough for a one week program and planning to see if the

materials and activity that I want to conduct is feasible and possible to be done taking

consideration about the time frame that we only have.

Teacher Sherwin also gave me a blank template for the grading sheet of my

students and I dedicate this day to remind and update the student who still have a miss

activities few of them comply immediately but others still don’t. One of the things that I

done, so one of the student can comply and answer an activity is to record a voice

message so he can use it as a guide to answer the unanswered activity and it seems

effective because he immediately send the answer to me, so I also forward the voice

message to the other students so they can also answer but in no luck still they didn’t do.

I also furnishing the reviewer that I promise to them, I uploaded it ahead of time

and just let them read it so they can have an idea what are the things and stuff that we will

discuss for the next day. I also check the late activities that is submitted on this day and

include the score on the hard copy of my grading sheet that I have.

Day 35: 21 October 2021

I dedicate this day as a review day for my student’s. I inform them ahead of time

that we will start earlier than the class schedule that we have as soon as I sent the meeting

link they need to joined the meeting. I also ask them to prepare 3 question that they want

to be answered or they are having a hard time to understand so I can clarify and evaluate

the things that need to be address ahead of time during the formal discussion of the

review.

I must say I come prepared this day. Because I ask them to prepare this and I have

no idea what they will include in the question. I also informed them that if the question is

already answered we will set it aside and follow the next question to be answered. I was

very happy that when they ask the questions few of the students are already answering on

my behalf and informing their classmates. In this way I can see and observed that I

became effective somehow because they are discussing the idea of the topic effectively.

When I present the reviewer that I prepared to them few of them is sharing their

idea ahead of time and I was very glad that they knew, few of them is still confuse and

miss match the concept form one another but the review that we conducted went well.

I just hope that they can apply all the discussions and information and the recap that we

done.

I also gave key points to remember and remind them on the do’s and don’ts

during the examination to read carefully about the question and especially to study smart.

Day 36: 25 October 2021

It’s examination week of my handled class. They are scheduled to take the exam
around 11:00 am to 12 noon good for an hour only. In early morning I check
the examination tab to see if it’s working and to double check if the all choices and
answer is type clearly. I also check the instruction / direction on each set of examination
to see if all of this is appropriate and instructed clearly.

I sent an instruction / reminders 30 minutes before the scheduled time of my


students, and informed them that they can contact me if they have any question
regarding the examination. I receive a lot of queries before it start and one of the most
ask question is that if the exam itself is hard, I informed them that it’ not and its super
easy to answer it like all the statement if they asked.

It’s already 11:00 am and they are joining and starting to answer the exam. I
was checking the list of students who joined and on my horror one of them didn’t
answer or start and it’s already 30 minutes away, I immediately contact and chat the
student and she is not online, what I did is to informed teacher Sherwin regarding what
happen and told me to wait for more minutes and Sir is right the student is already
online and I ask her what happen, and if she is okay and happen to her and what is the
reason why she’s not able to answer the exam on the given time. She told me that she
was not able to sleep early at night before and not able to review for the subject. I
informed her and ask her if she is fine to answer the exam at some other time. She
agreed and I adjust the time on the learning management system and she’s able to take
the exam. It gives me a relief that she already answer it.

Day 37: 26 October 2021

It’s still exam week for my students, and we are not allowed to contact or to

remind about the lacking of the activities that they didn’t submit. It’s a smart

decision that I scheduled the video, reporting activity a week before the exam

because they able to conceptualize the idea that they can use for the reporting most of

them are able to submit the video and I was amaze and delighted that few of them are

really made an effort for the video and still I don’t grade it but watch all the video

they’ve submit because I don’t want to grade unless most of them submit the task

because I want to be fair in grading all the activities they gave.

I prepare a printed copy of the rubrics for the task that I gave to them, so I can

clearly evaluate and grade the activity effectively. I also provide a copy of the rubrics

and I did that to make them see the criteria I will use to evaluate or grade the task. I

write the name of my student one by one so I will just pull the paper when I will start

grading the task I ask them to do. I was able to watch most of the videos and I am

impress about some of the task that they submit few of them make an effort even put up

a set up like a news reporter, some of them even dress up for the reporting, and even

prepared a slide presentation, one of them prepare a props for the activity and most of

them even edited their videos as if they are in the news room or a show in the news

report like 24 Oras or alike. I was very entertain and happy about the outcome of the

activity.

Day 38: 27 October 2021

I dedicate this day to transfer all the grades on the grading sheets that I have

already compiled. We are not allowed to contact or to remind the student this

week because it’s their exam week, but due to some circumstances the learning

management system is not working properly so they postponed the exam. So I use the

time to send the student and to remind them.

Prior to the examination week I furnish a copy or list of student who’s unable to

finish all the activities, It is a wise decision that I sent a copy of the list of student’s

who’s unable to comply the task, and teacher Sherwin gave it to the adviser of the class

of grade V Matipid, so the task and miss activities is keep on coming even within this

week. I keep on checking and learning management system to check all the activities

that they submit within the day.

I also start to type all the requirement that is needed to submit on the coming

Monday. The routing slip and the cover page of the narrative that we are going to

submit for the final requirements of this practice teaching.

Day 39: 28 October 2021

As I said on the prior day, I will dedicate a day to check, watch and evaluate the

video reporting that my student’s will submit to me. I downloaded all the video to

check and watch tall the videos continuously. I prepare a hard copy of the rubrics so the

student can see where and how are they being grade for the activity.

One of the main instructions that I ask them is the video should not be limited to

2 minutes, few of them didn’t follow the instructions, but most of them even exceed 5

to 7 minutes I was even entertain on one of the students who present her ideas

cohesively, she even use pictures to share her ideas. I even commend few of them who

use a lively and entertaining voice for the report, you could also observe that few of

them is shy on doing the activity, some of them even hide their faces by locating the

camera away from their faces.

I also input all the grades that is newly scored and to include in the grading

sheet that is needed. I also keep on checking the lms if few of them is submitting the

answer. I also start to look for the topic that I am going to discuss for the topic. I also

count the possible topic that I could use for the demonstration , I also check the last

memorandum about when will the final demonstration I going to be done so I could

match the topic that I will discuss.

I was also working on the narrative for this week that we have to submit for this

day.

Day 40: 29 October 2021

The exam week is over and we are required to submit the consolidated report of the

activities, performance task and written task of our students the purpose of this data is for

the grade of the students. I was furnishing and completing the grades prior to the exam

week I already sent a personal message to my students and for those whose unable to

submit the task on the given time. I also waiting for those who are still unable to submit

the recorded video that is the final requirement for the first quarter in Araling Panlipunan.

Most of my student able to submit and comply for the given task but there is still

few student who still don’t submit and the final date of submission of the grade is also

within the week, I am motivation and encouraging the student to get a help from their

parent’s and guardian so they can comply and do the task late task that they need to

submit.

I also check the topic that I’m going to discuss for next week, Monday is holiday

but I have to furnish a copy of detailed lesson plan and a power point presentation so

teacher Sherwin can check and give me a feedback if I have to change something on the

lesson that I’m going to discuss on the following week.

Day 41: 2 November 2021

A long weekend is over, we student teacher is scheduled to prepare for the final

demonstration, to choose the topic that we are going to discuss and the materials that we

have to prepare for the said activity. Most of my co student teacher are not teaching

already they are busy preparing for the demonstration but, I still choose to teach and it is

also the request that I asked for teacher Sherwin, I don’t want to lose the momentum and

the good harmony with my students feeling of teaching that’s why I still choose to

continue teaching even most of us is encourage to arrange and to decide what topic we

are going to use for the final demonstration.

I gave a copy of reading material for my student for the next day, we are having

our online discussion and I gave them a copy so they can participate because they read

the material prior to the discussion day. I also gave them a prior activity so they can read

more about the topic that we are going to discuss. I observe that it is more effective to

give an activity prior to the discussion because they are more participative and they can

relate and connect the topic that i discuss and tackle to them.

I also congratulate them for a job well done for the result of their exam on the

prior week. I’m happy that half of the class able to get a good result from the exam that I

know that they learn from all the discussions that we have, I also receive feedbacks about

that they knew the answer in the exam very well because we discuss it and they

understand it very well. It makes my heart happy about this thing.

Day 42: 3 November 2021

Its modular scheduled of my students, I gave an activity that they need to

complete the table base on the question that is being asked and as I expect it I received a

lot of queries regarding the activity that they have to answer and complete. I answer it

one by one and I am happy because I know that they are paying attention and being

responsible to work the activity right after it is being posted in the learning management

system of the school.

I also asked teacher Sherwin what can I do or to prepare for the upcoming demo

teaching the first instruction that teacher told me that I have to count the weeks left before

the scheduled demo teaching, so I could get the topic for the final demo teaching and to

see if this is feasible and doable the final demo teaching schedule is still not given but it

has a tentative scheduled by the end of November. We are having a meeting to Miss

Julie, next week to clarify the rules and guidelines regarding the upcoming demo

teaching.

I am still completing the grade that my students need to submit and keep on

reminding them about this thing, I clearly now understand the struggle and hardship of

the teacher for those who don’t comply and submit the task on the specific time. It is

clearly getting a lot of their time and it is a struggle, but I also understand that not all

students have a guardians or parent who stay with them 24/7 so this students still rely to

them, this is the main reason why I also encourage them to finish the task ahead of time

to avoid the pilling up of the activities that they need to finish and I was always
reminding them that if they are having a hard time comply of answer the task they can

ask and message me so I could guide them most of them is doing it and I was glad that

they see me as the one who could and willing to help them.

Day 43: 4 November 2021

It’s an online session for my student this day, I must say, I adjusted already when

it come’s to sending the link for the meeting which I struggle most of the time. I already

chose the topic that I am going to use for my final demo teaching. I have to follow the

week and flow of the topics that is being discuss on that week and I fall on “ Ang

Paglaganap ng Relihiyong Islam sa Pilipinas “ I was a bit hesitant if I could pull this off

but yeah I know, I have to.

This day I was very happy on how my discussion goes to, they are very

participative because they could relate on the topic very well most of them answer on

how or what traditions of beliefs they knew or they still practice at home, I also learn a

few about it and I let them share one by one on the idea that they knew about the topic I

was glad that they able to answer and some of them are happy while sharing their stories

about the “ pamahiin “ that they have and they still practice at home.

I am happy that most of them is trying to participate during the discussion it’s a

big difference now compare to the start of my practicum that’ only one to three students

that I’m talking with. I am happy that they are now comfortable and I could connect to

them already and this is the main reason why I still choose to teach even most of my co –

student teacher are now preparing for the demo teaching, I don’t want to lose the bond
and the connection to my students and I ‘m really enjoying this teaching journey that I

experience.

Day 44: 5 November 2021

It is Friday and it’s a day for preparation of the materials that I am going to use

for the next week, but this week is different because the center and our university is in the

academic break, but as part of my duty I’m preparing the detailed lesson plan for the

week after next so I would not cram on the coming week, as soon as I start this practicum

I make it a habit to prepared ahead of time, because I knew myself and it is also the

reason why I never try to practice that behavior.

As I said the following week is academic break and one of the rule under this

break is we are not allowed to give any synchronous or asynchronous activity to the

student and one of the lesson I’ve learn during this academic break happen, As a part of

my lesson for this week I gave a sets of activities to be answer in the allowed span of

time within the five working day period, I over looked and honestly forgotten that the due

date that I gave fall one the week of the academic break and as a result I receive a

personal message from the parent asking and reminding me that the due date that I set for

the activities is under the academic break, at first I was terrified about the thought that I

received a message from the parent and I knew that it is also my fault, so what I did,
acknowledge my mistake that I overlooked the date of the activity and informed the

parent that I will set a new due date for the activity.

I guess it is really honesty is the best policy, I admit that I am at fault and learn to

become more careful about things.

Day 45: 8 November 2021

It’s the start of the academic break and we are free as a bird on the online

duties that we have within the week, but the clock is ticking and the final demonstration

is near most of us have our topic already and waiting for the confirmation of the

scheduled of the final demonstration.

I am finishing the power point presentation that I am going to use for the

following week and I will upload it as soon as I am done so the student who will check

their LMS could see in their timeline the uploaded file and if they want they can read it

ahead of time. I already have my topic for the final demo teaching and I start reading the

topic and creating a visual representation on my head on how I am going to discuss the

topic that I read already and thinking what I could add or to put another twist on how I

am going to discuss the topic in a interactive way but not using the internet or other

online application not because I don’t know how to utilize the platform but I am avoiding

an internet connection problem and I don’t want to stress myself on that. I’m also

thinking what to include and not on my discussion it’s a bit long if I include all so I will

divide the topic into two’s and use the first part to form my presentation.

Day 46: 9 November 2021

It is still under the academic break, I dedicate this day for crowd sourcing on how

I am going to pull this off, the topic that I am going to discuss in the final demonstration.

I was looking for an idea that is interactive but still not using other online educational

platform because I am avoiding on using other online platform to avoid the lags during

the presentation, I was very much aware that my internet connection is not stable and

even the laptop that I am using.

I’m looking for another reading resource about the topic, because I am finding a

way on how I’m going to teach and deliver the lesson easily given that we have a limited

time on presenting our lesson. I was searching for teaching techniques or ways that I can

apply to present the topic in a different way.

I am still waiting for the output on one of my student, I keep on motivating and

reminding him to submit the task and even told him that he can ask help from his parent’s

or someone that is older to him so he could ask for help. We have scheduled meeting for
tomorrow with Miss Julie to confirm the final scheduled of the final demonstration, and

to clarify the rules for the incoming demo.

Day 47: 10 November 2021

It’s Wednesday and third day of the academic break but we are still grinding for

the preparation and selecting the materials that we need for the final demonstration. I’m

still undecided on what way or teaching approach I will use on the topic that I will use, I

am done creating my detailed lesson plan for the final demonstration and still looking

and scanning on ways or how can I improve the material.

We are scheduled for a meeting with Miss Julie Guevara, today about the

clarification regarding the final demonstration and the do’s and don’t that we have to

observe or to follow during the final demonstration.

The meeting went well and Miss Julie discuss the queries and the questions we

ask, she also ask us one by one to know and to tell stories we experience from the

practice teaching, I was listening intently on the stories they tell and I was listening on

the reply and the reflections made by miss Julie on the stories we share, I was happy

about the stuff I realize while I was listening to the stories most of my co student teacher
shared, somehow I was able to reflect, connect and get a bigger picture or idea about the

matter I heard and learn from it.

Day 48: 11 November 2021

This is the fourth day of our academic break and we are not allowed to remind or

contact the students regarding the academic or school related matters. The clock is

ticking and the final demonstration is approaching very soon. I am done planning and

creating my detailed lesson plan and still not satisfied and undecided if I will push

through the plan I have, as I stated I am avoiding on using any online educational flat

form because I was very hesitant about the stability of my internet connection.

One of the part that I include and I am not sure if this is possible in conducting an

online bring me in the introduction of my lesson, I was not sure If teacher Sherwin will

approve this because it may cause a harm in the students and I don’t know if this is

possible given that we have a very limited time, but still I will submit my detailed lesson

plan and wait for the review and approval of teacher Sherwin regarding my lesson plan.
I already collect and select the picture that I will us for my power point

presentation, I am also looking for the theme that I will use for my ppt this day. I am

also looking, reading and reviewing the previous narrative that I wrote so when the time

of submission I proof read already and need a re-checking of it.

Day 49: 12 November 2021

Fifth day of Academic break and most of us is furnishing and finishing the

detailed lesson plan. I already submitted the copy of my plan to teacher Sherwin, I am

waiting for the feedback and to see if sir approve or I have to alter the ideas I input on the

plan.

I am maximizing my available time to prepare the material that I have to use for

the final demo I already printed a picture that I am going to paste in the shopping bag that

I will use in my demonstration I will attach the image of the item on the back part of the

narrative. I also start to create my power point presentation I edit the slides in canva

application and downloaded it and paste it in power point, I use the online plat form

templates because it is more attractive and appealing in the eye of the viewer. I also start

to use and to practice using the online pole called “ memiter “ that Is use to get the real
time result of pole voting. I was practicing with the help of my co – student teachers, I

just hope that the internet connection will be favorable to me during the presentation.

This is the last day of academic break and I also working the lesson that my

student will be using for next week, I already finish the lesson plan and submit it to

teacher Sherwin and also waiting for the response so I could make an outline for the topic

and gave it to my student on the first day of the modular schedule.

Day 50: 15 November 2021

Back to school and after a week I will be presenting for my final demonstration.

During the weekend I am furnishing the copy of my power point presentation and also

receive the feedback regarding the lesson plan that I submitted to teacher Sherwin,

teacher told me to change the activity regarding the online bring me because it may

cause danger if we continue the game, so teacher suggested to insert an ICT related

activity to use, I am worried regarding because I don’t know if the internet connection

will permit me upon using it, but I still comply on the suggestion of teacher Sherwin and

I am also looking for a video that will showcase the Filipino culture and let my students

reflect on it as a part of recap o balik aral from the previous discussion.


Yes, It’s back to school and I spend my whole weekend working on the

presentation that I will be using for the discussion this whole week. Teacher Sherwin

also informed me to demonstrate on the other class of grade V. I am happy because I

could asses myself and evaluate if the plan I made is possible and to see the matter that I

could alter or to improve the materials that I am using.

The student are keep on asking regarding the activity that I let them answer for

the preliminary activity so they will be force to answer the activity and read the

uploaded file, and I am also happy because I know they are reviewing and trying to

answer the activity.

Day 51: 16 November 2021

Online schedule for this day again, and I am slowly introducing the routine that

I am going to use in the final demo so they will be familiar about the new routine. I

knew I establish the routine within the class because right after I send a meeting link

they immediately join inside the class and as our routine we will have our open

discussion and questions and answer if there are things that are not clear to them, in this

way it will be clear to them and at the same time some of them is being refresh and

enlighten about the matter discuss.

I call the attention of one of the student because I observe that he is constantly

late in our class, I talk to him after class and ask him what is the reason behind it, I also
observe that he is the one that is constantly not complying the given task, so I ask the

reason about this and he told me that he is waiting for the free time of the guardian and I

offer that if he want I could help and guide him in answering and complying on the

given task. As the discussion part they are very involve and engage about the topic

because we are discussing about the culture of the “ Ang kultura ng Sinauna at

Makabangong Pilipino” the student are discussing and participating and sharing their

idea, this is the reason why I love discussing this kind of topic to them because they are

very active and hare a lot of ideas as always I was not able to finish my topic and

continue the discussion the other meeting.

As one of the class I observe to teacher Sherwin, the difficulty of the lesson

could be lessen if the teacher is explaining and discussing the topic in a manner that the

student could understand kudos to teacher for doing this every time he is teaching.

Day 52: 17 November 2021

It is a modular scheduled for this day but I gave them a task to do, to re enforce

the discussion that we have the previous day. On one of the classes of teacher Sherwin, I

observe that one of the student is not participating on the discussion and teacher call the

attention of the student, I’ve realize that it is very needed that as a teacher we have to be

aware and observant about what happen and how our students perform inside our class.

I am also done working on my power point presentation, I was able to replace

the video that I am going to use for the introduction of my lesson. I am really hopping

that the internet connection will be on my side. Teacher Sherwin also informed me that

he is giving me chance to conduct a dry run / to present my lesson from the other
section. I am also preparing on changing the section name that is included in my power

point presentation. I am lucky that I am given a change to present on the given on the

same grade level to my students.

I am also done cutting and making the materials that I will be using on

Tuesday for my

Reflection part of my discussion. I am excited and also rattle for the upcoming demo, I

know It will be a blast of emotion but I know It will be fine because we prepare and we

are looking forward for this.

Day 53: 18 November 2021

Online lesson discussion for this day. I was able to check some of the activity

that the student submitted to me and able to remind them about the unanswered activity.

I was making it habit to remind them to finish their task to lessen the possibility of

filling up of their unanswered activity, but I am glad that most of them now learn to do

the task ahead of time, I also got few questions before they answer the task.

Our discussion went well, I was able to finish it and have a spare time to

remind my student regarding the upcoming the demo, they are aware that we are being

observe that day but they don’t know who are we with.
I was able to present my lesson to the other section, I am much pressured that I

keep stuttering on words and idea that I cannot coherent. Given that this is the first time

that I am handling this class I have to call the attention and get familiar to them, I

execute all lesson and I realize the loop holes and the things that I have to adjust because

of the size of the text, and add the prompt for the next slide even I memorize the flow of

the slides. I was able to conduct the online poll using the memeter and as I knew they

are not familiar on how to use it and it gives me the idea to remove this part and to use

other ways to avoid of wasting time.

I was very exhausted after conducting this demo. It gives me hints and ideas on

what may I encounter during the whole demonstration, I will also alter and improve

some picture and ideas so that it will become more eye friendly, I am glad that this

practice demo is conducted because give me an idea or real time experience that I could

encounter.

Day 54: 19 November 2021

After the practice demo yesterday teacher Sherwin scheduled a meeting for

today, to give feedback about what happen yesterday. I knew that I mess up and really

not perform well during the practice demo. I was very rattle and overwhelm about the

idea of the demo. It is very bad that every time that I am agitated and pressured the

thoughts and ideas that I have with me is scattered.

Teacher Sherwin told me to replace the online voting into different type because

in this part took a lot of time given that we have a very limited time only, teacher also
told me that the student keep on asking about how to use it because they are not family

about it, teacher reminded me that I have to be wise on how I am going to spend and to

use the limited time that I have so teacher suggest that I have to utilize the chat box that

is available in the online platform.

Teacher also told me and reminded me to be careful about giving instruction, I

have to be precise and to clarify the idea to the student. I am glad that teacher told me

that other thing is ok but he reminded me about the key points that he told me to adjust

and be corrected.

After the meeting, I create a reading material that I am going to use for my

students, given that I am done already I have to give another set of it that they could use

as for reading material.

I also address all the key points that teacher Sherwin told and reminded me, I am glad

that teacher is approachable and paying attention to all the queries that I ask him, I am

really glad for all the help and guidance that teacher gave me.

Day 55: 22 November 2021

It’s a day before the final demonstration and I am busy finishing the power point

presentation. I am already finish but I am not satisfied about the outcome, I can’t

remember how many times alter my slides and again I am going to have online meeting

with teacher Sherwin this day, I am much thankful that teacher is very hands on and

giving his key point to improve what I am doing. After conducting another set of

presentation teacher reminded me to talk slowly even I have limited time and reminded
me not to got pressured and enjoy the learning experience that the Final demonstration

could give us.

I still handled the assign class to me this day, I give them an activity that will

stimulate the idea and build curiosity about the lesson that I am going to discuss

tomorrow, I also gave them a copy of reading materials that I am going to use in the

discuss. It becomes our routing that I am providing a copy of learning material aside

from the book that they already have.

I also practice the flow of my presentation even I already done it a couple of

times.

I already transfer the files from my laptop so it won’t hang because it was loaded with

file. I also connect my laptop on the internet to avoid a disconnection on the internet. I

already set up and arrange the my table to feel that I am really preparing.

Day 56: 23 November 2021

This is it, the final demonstration day. After I talk to teacher Sherwin a day before

about his final coaching I alter and edit some details of the presentation and teacher

reminded me to relax and enjoy the experience that I am going to encounter.


Teacher let me have the morning to prepare myself and be ready, he told me not to

attend the other class during the morning sessions. I am excited and at the same time a lot

nervous what will be the outcome of my performance I know I prepared and ready, but I

am aware that a lot of things might happen during the demo.

During the morning I send a personal message to all of my students that includes

a reminder about the demo that they have to be in the meeting link five minutes before

the time, that they have to prepare their white board and marker and encourage them to

participate and act as they are even we have a visitor/observer during the class.

During the waiting time 30 minutes before the is the longest time I am waiting,

and I don’t know what I am going to feel, but I am happy on the outcome of my

performance, it’s not what I planned but I know I did my best and all the means that I am

capable.

Day 57: 24 November 2021

The demo is done but I will handled my class till next week, it is the request I ask

for Teacher Sherwin, I only join in the class of teacher Sherwin in grade V – Matipid.

Today is their modular time in Araling Panlipunan , so what I did is gave an activity that
is related to the topic that we discuss yesterday. During the demo yesterday I ask them to

answer the activity and upon checking the learning management system most of them

answer the activity.

I dedicate this day to check all the activity that I ask them to do, I am happy about

the outcome of the activity they did all well and express their ideas very well and able to

create relevant idea that we discuss. I am able to remind the one by one by those student

whose not yet done about the activity.

I also create a draft for the quiz for the following week about the past lessons that

we have so I could give a copy to teacher Sherwin so he can check it.

I am happy that this day become productive, I am thankful that I was able to

experience this journey with the people who support and help one another.

Day 58: 25 November 2021

One week left and this practice teacher experience is done already, I knew that I

learn a lot and apply the thing that I learn inside the classroom, only few of us are not yet

done in their presentation for final demo.


I continue the lesson that I have on my class, I try to utilize the remaining the day

that I will spend with them, I finish the lesson on time and reminded them to continue

answering the activity that is left on the book. I also talk to one of the student, as I

observe she is having a hard time following and doing the task that is given to them, she

will submit but once I check it most of her answer is wrong, I ask her if she is having a

hard time understanding the lesson because as I observe most of her works got a low

score, there’s also on instance that I return a task so she can redo it. As she answers me

she told me that she just answer it and don’t read the instruction carefully, I just ask her

to do it again and redo the task and reminded her about the importance of working and

reading every single instruction once answering and doing a task.

I also remind them that we will have a quiz for the coming week I gave them the

pointers to review that is included for the quiz and let them write it on the paper so they

can remember to review for the quiz. I also reminded them to review the messages I sent

them a personally message to answer the unfinished task that they have to answer.

Day 59: 26 November 2021

As I announce that we will have a quiz on the following week, I am furnishing a

copy of the quiz so I can submit it to teacher Sherwin and let teacher check the content of

the quiz. I assured that all the things that is included in the quiz is part of all the lesson or
topics that I discuss to them. I also create a table of specification so I can assure the

distribution of items is even to the number of hours thought.

After doing it I immediately submit it to teacher Sherwin, and waited for teacher

response about the content of the quiz, upon waited I also start to work the lesson plan for

the following week while waiting for the approval, I was working it last night and not yet

finish once I’m done I will also submit it to teacher Sherwin.

I also work the quiz on the learning management system, it is complicated to

work on and creating the quiz but once done we don’t have to check and the scores are

already and can be used for recording already and creating the power point presentation

that I could use for the following week I keep my day busy for preparing the material for

the following week.

Day 60: 29 November 2021

I’m occupied for the whole weekend I finish the quiz that they are taking for this

week and the lessons that I am going to teach for this week I am working for the
materials that I am going to teach them. I also check the activities that they submitted to

me during the weekend and still few of them able to submit the work.

It’s modular session for the class today but I also scheduled a quiz for today,

around 10 am in the morning I remind them one by one regarding the quiz that they are

going to take at 2 PM, as the time strike before 2 I reminded my student to take the exam

and gives instruction about the exam sent in the group chat and a I observe it already

time and the link will be close there are 6 students whose unable to take the quiz and I

immediately message them and ask the reason why they unable to take the quiz few

answered because of the internet connection which is very unpredictable so what I did I

set a new scheduled for the coming Friday so no class will be affected if they took the

exam. I also sent a personal message one by one to my student who’s able to get a perfect

score and also those who got few mistake for the quiz and I am satisfied about the result

of the quiz.

Day 61: 01 December 2021

It’s modular scheduled for grade V – Matipid, this is the only class that teacher

Sherwin allowed me to join after the final demo teaching. I just utilize the day to finish
the activities that I still not checked and again to remind my student to answer the

activities that they are not done yet.

As one of the students are still not passing the activities I contact her and set a

schedule for us to answer the activities and she agreed to me, I am always doing it to my

student mostly those who I know is having a hard time to work or to finish the task that

they are need to do.

On our class we have a quick meeting to Miss Julie, she clarify the matter or the

details on the appendices part of the manuscript ma’am discuss the inclusions and what

we have to put or include in each item or part of the table, ma’am also talk to us about

what happen in the demonstration because ma’am Julie is part of the panelist, ma’am

gave a review or recap about the demonstration and gave points, corrections and ideas

that some of us done during the presentation. Miss Julie set or gave a situation which she

explain and gave us a better things or situation that we should apply during the scenarios

which part is very informative because I personally learn how to approach or to

understand the situation best.

Day 62: 02 December 2021

It’s online session for this day and this is the last day that I am handling my class.
I prepare a lesson for this day a continuation of the discussion that we have the previous
day but I also prepare an online activity so we can enjoy for the last session that I am
going to handle them.
I reminded the class 30 minutes before the session to join the meeting link
so we can have a longer time to talk and finish the discussion so we can extend our talk
and I can properly that you and say goodbye to them. As part of our routine they always
join the meeting link ahead of time, they are aware that this is the last day that I am
handling their class, but before I bid my goodbye, I continue my lesson and they are very
participative because I assigned to watch a specific video clip so they can share their
ideas about the lesson that we have for today and it is very effective because most of
them want to share their ideas and they have a different understanding and how they
perceive the videos that they watch and I am glad that they share their idea in the class.
I cut the lesson 10 minutes before the time so I can talk to them and bid my
goodbye and how thankful I am to them, I also remind them about how I’m looking
forward to meet them in the future as they already an grown up individuals. Few of them
ask me I they will see me after I graduate and if I am going to apply as a teacher in the
center as I said if time permits we will see.
I am sad to say goodbye but I assure them that if they need anything they can chat me and
I am willing to help them in any way possible. I also take the chance to say thank you to
teacher Sherwin for guiding me and teaching me the things that he knew , I am glad that
teacher help and let me explore and take the chance to experience and let me teach the
way I knew and correct me if I did something word.

COMMON CLASSROOM PROBLEM


Classroom disciple and management may be among the most difficult
challenges for teachers especially on the beginning teacher. The classroom
management refers to the variety of skills and styles the teacher use and adopt to use
inside the classroom set up. Establishing the rules and the guidelines in the first day of
school will save the time in managing the class and to lessen the problem and conflict
that it may create during the school year. This rules and guidelines that we gave will
create a harmonious relationship between the teacher and student and also in the student
to co student relationship. But this pandemic bring another form of classroom problem
that we may encounter in our daily teaching life and as a teacher it will challenge you
on how are you going to facilitate this classroom rule to avoid the occurrence of a
problem.

During this online class one of the most common problem that I personally
encounter is the noise problem, all student are informed ahead of time and during the
orientation to turn off their microphone ahead of time when it is not in use but still
some of them is still unaware or not following the said rules, so what I did , I always
mute them so all of them can hear me clearly I also keep on checking them if they are
still inside the classroom by randomly checking them of calling out their attention on
me.

The efficiently usage of the plat form, this pandemic pull and push the
technology capabilities of the teacher especially when you are teaching in the private
school the mode of teaching is base online, the inefficient use of it is also a failed
delivery of the lesson and this is one of the downside of this mode of learning. How we
can address this or to avoid it to happen? We can trained and gave a series of seminars
to update our teachers on how they can use it effectively.

We are aware that the attention span of the student varies and it depends on
many factors, and in this time and way of learning modality that is available, as a
teacher we have to be creative on how we are going to maintain and deliver the lesson
that still engaging and entertaining but also deliver the learning content that is needed
to teach I would also like to talk about the readiness of the child on using the platform.
As I observe few of the students were able to comply on submitting the task on time
that they need to submit, one of the reason that I know I that the students are not aware
on how they are going to submit the task being done. and not all students have their
guardian beside them because most of the parent’s is also working, but I know that this
is only a stage of adjustment on both the students, parents and with the help of the
teacher that is reminding and extending the help to both the parent and students it will
and still deliver the learning.

The routine of the students is very important, and this is the common thing that
the teacher establish on the first day or week of school it will help the teacher and the
students to both save time and energy, this routine also put warning and boundaries to
the students on what are they only allowed to do or need to follow. This routine is both
time saving to the students, and it also trained the students to be a more responsible and
to know the duties that they have.

Classroom management is the answer to address and to avoid the occurrence of


this classroom problem. We as a teacher and a future teacher should utilize and
this to have a harmonious flow of learning and bond between our student and the
parents.
