BUS TERMINAL CUM COMMERCIAL
COMPLEX

ABSTRACT

It is the major used transport system. By this, we can understand how necessary it is
to design an efficient bus complex.
There are a list of major problems faced by users, a few problems are
1) basic amenities facilities for passengers
2) congested traffic flow
3) unhygienic conditions
4) security and unorganized departments
5) barrier-free aspects
These are the few approaches I want to focus on by providing commercial spaces
for users with proper surveillance and facilities & amenities. (One aspect)is to have
a universal design, controlling user flow by giving awareness to passengers by
proper visible & audio signage so there will be no jam or disturbance while
moving to their respective places

INTRODUCTION
● Transportation is one of the most important requirements for the aid of
communication from one place to another for visiting purposes or in the sense
of tourism.
● Have predicted the importance of planning such as roadways industries in the
sense of bus terminals.
● The transportation system improves social, economic, industrial, and
commercial progress and further transforms society into an organized one.
● It is one of the essential services, a vital force for determining the direction of
development.
● To achieve the desired transportation balance and for the system to be
efficient, it is essential to provide organized facilities in the system.
● As transportation is concerned with the movement between origin and
destination involves the movement of people and goods, there is a need for
an access point in the system for use.
AIM

The aim is to incorporate “multi-use space concept” efficient use of space for
entertainment, shopping & related activity, the concept of planning of different
activity evolution of commercial complex space, in the Indian context – Indian
bazaars daily shopping at the terminal itself and also to achieve design excellence
and to come up with a prototype design for future and adding barrier-free aspects

OBJECTIVES:

● provide an architecture solution for integrating the terminal with a

commercial complex.
● provide fast & understanding flow of traffic.
● to provide clear segregation of different types of traffic, no congestion at
peak hour.
● to provide optimum connections between all elements and spaces, i.e. clear
connection of function
● Proper space for the user to rest/wait
● Vendors to be given proper space for shops
● Incorporating barrier-free aspect
● Improving security
