Proposal

To: Lucian Grainge, CEO of Universal Music Group

From: Kathleen Fanor Adkins

Date: July 22, 2021

Subject: A benefit concert for world hunger awareness

________________________________________________________________

Introduction

In today's society, the lack of proper food is an issue on a global scale.

Unfortunately, a new generation of teens and young adults are unaware of
exactly how bad the world hunger crisis is. To stay socially aware, companies
globally should take part in spreading awareness of the issue. In this proposal,
my company, Blue Flash Entertainment, is excited to present the concept of a
live concert featuring some of your great artists that will help you spread
awareness on this issue.

Statement of the Problem or Need

On Universal Music Group's website, your social responsibility states that it

inspires you, moves you, thrills you, heals you, and unites everyone. In addition,
you have a roster of amazing charities that you support for cancer, music, and
the environment. However, there is never a cap to how many charities you can
help. Therefore, there is a need for Universal Music Group to expand its social
responsibility to world issues that it has not yet explored thoroughly, and world
hunger is one of them. According to research, as many as 811 million individuals
are still going hungry today. For example, if Universal Music Group were to
focus on world hunger, it would reflect well on the company and its extensive list
of influential artists and expose younger generations to the seriousness of this
issue. To solve this, Blue Flash Entertainment proposes developing a world
hunger benefit concert featuring Universal Music Group's incredible artists.

Proposed Solution

This one-day concert, named Concert for Hunger, will focus on bringing
awareness to the world hunger issue and, in addition, allow fans to see some of
their favorite artists live in the same place. The target date for the concert day is
May 28, 2022, World Hunger Day. The planning will begin with determining a
solid budget that includes a 10% buffer zone to prevent running out of money.
Next, we will narrow down which Universal Music Group artists are willing to
perform at the benefit concert and the venue, targeting Madison Square Garden
in New York City. Finally, we will promote the event through an extensive
marketing campaign on social media, YouTube, and billboards. This concert will
allow Universal Music Group to connect with its audience and show them that
they care about world issues. As a result, it will bring positive exposure to the
company and the artists that they represent. With this proposal, we know that
Universal Music Group will become known as a company with incredible artists
and humanitarianism.
