Mechanics for Jazz Chant Competition

1. Jazz Chanters are allowed to choose their own theme and each team should have a minimum of 15
and a maximum of 20 participants.
2. Song entries must:  Be lively, appealing, and creative  Be at least five (5) minutes but must not
exceed six (6) minutes including the intro and extro;  Not contain any indecent, rude, or offensive
words; and,  Be performed virtually at the celebration of the National Reading Month on November
26, 2021.
3. Jazz Chant entries may be interpreted in a popular or new song genre or a fusion thereof, in any
form or structure. Lyrics shall be in English. Introduction and explanation of the song as part of the
entry is not necessary.
4. There shall be three (3) winners: 2nd runner-up, 1st runner-up, and champion.
Criteria for Judging
 Musical Content (40%). Catchy melody, lively music, rhythm, and recall.
 Lyric Content (30%). Coherence, and ingenuity
 Creativity (20%). Fresh sound, unique approach/use of structure, instruments, and vocals.
 Audience Impact (10%). Overall effect and impact on the audience

Mechanics for Art of Smart Talking


1. There should be two (2) contestants per team.
2. Contestants shall use English in talking about his/her ideas about the Hashtag to be given on the
spot by the panel of judges with 3 stages(Easy,normal,difficult)
3. Preparation is three minutes while the delivery of speech is 1 minute.
4. Criteria for judging shall be as follows:
a. Wit and Intelligence 30%
b. Organization and relevance of ideas 30% to the topic
c. Articulation/Diction 20%
d. Stage Presence 10%
e. Appropriateness of Attire(casual attire) 10%

Guidelines and Mechanics for the Story Telling


1. Each team should have one (1) representative for creative story telling contest.
2. Appropriate attire with moral and ethical standards is required.
3. All contestants are required to submit their chosen tale or story to be used in the competition to the
contest committee on a short bond paper.
4. Each contestant is given 3 to 5 minutes for the presentation of the story.
5. Time shall officially start when the contestant utters the first word of the presentation, a penalty of
1-point deduction every 30 seconds in excess.
6. Judges’ decision is final.
Criteria for judging:
25% - Pronunciation
20% - Voice variations and projection
20% - Content and logical presentation of events
25% - Skills and eliciting emotions and expressions of the character played
10% - Impact

Rules and Mechanics of the Oration Contest


1. Each team should have one (1) representative for the Oratorical Contest.
2. The contestants will deliver only one piece provided by the committee for Literary-
3. The contestants are given 1 piece only. “MY MOM ONLU HAD ONE EYE”
4.Performance of the contestants shall be judged according to the following criteria:
Delivery 30% audience contact platform behavior mastery
Content 40% organization mechanics originality
Voice 30% pronunciation diction voice projection voice quality
Total 100% 7. Awards shall be given to the first, second, and third best orators. 8. Decision of the
panel of judges is final.

The tigsik must be all about our school(teaching and non teaching staffs school norms)
