The proposed site for tourism development is located in close proximity to Mandvi town in Ku-
tch District of Gujarat. Project site is approximately 12-13 kms, towards eastern side of Mandvi
town and falls in Mandvi taluka.
It is within 500 meters from the Arabian Coast and along the Kutch Mandvi-Kashi Vishvanath
beach, behind Salaya gamtal. Site offers unmatched natural beauty.
CONNECTIVITY

Mandvi is well connected to various places of State as well as country through roads and
waterways.
ROAD – Mandvi is well connected by road with other major cities of Gujarat, in-
cluding Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Veraval via National High-
way 8 and 8A.
RAIL – Mandvi does not have a railway station of its own. However Bhuj is the
nearest railway station about 56 km towards north east. All the major trains run
from this station connecting it to other major parts of the State and the Country.
AIR – There is no airport in Mandvi and the nearest airport is Bhuj Airport which is
62 km away from Mandvi.
There is one airstrip for private jet and one helipad near to site.
WATERWAYS– In the past era Mandvi was a popular port, so connectivity with the
near by port like Okha, Dwarka, etc is still there.
Government is also developing the costal circuit transportation, and farry Man-
dvi to Dwarka already started.

Ideally located on a beach to be developed as beach resort.
Long frontage available on the beach side which is good for water sports to be developed
along with resort.
WEAKNESS
Distance from the Bhuj Airport around 63 km and Bhuj Railway Station around 65 km.
OPPORTUNITY
The Government has recognized this place to be developed as Tourist destination.
The government has announced to develop the beaches as per Kerala and Goa.
THREAT
Sea at Mandvi at specific times (full moon and no moon days) makes the beach risky for
tourists.
Poor infrastructure along the coast is a major constraint in developing beach tourism.

The Soak pits will have to be used for sewage treatment in the area.

DESIGN BRIEF
Subject is to design a resort of high class quality which gives a lesiure to touristand act as recreational space for local people.
The design function will include accomodation area for tourist, with basic amenities requirements like restaurant, swimming
pool, gym, club house, administra- tion block, staff accomodation, etc.
Kutch, is a region popular for the traditional art work and construction technique. Which gives opportunity to resort to
reflect the immense tourism potential but is currently a remote town away from important tourism dtraditional style of
architecture.Mandvi is a town presented in South region of Kutch which exhibits estinations of Kutch. Also the place is
lack in terms of tourist facility infrasteucture of high class so the need of good quality resort is there.

INFERENCES:
Entry should be define in such a way that it can directly seen from the road.
Transitional space should be provided while entering into the resort which change the envi-
ronment of the tourist.
The functions should be arranged in such a way that beach view should be perfectly uti-
lised.
Except to accommodation units resort should have other functions through which resort
survive in off season also.
