PART 2
Write a thoughtful, reflective response (one full paragraph for each question) answering the following questions:
2. Within your category, which 2-3 functional areas are most interesting to you and why?
The two functional areas I am most interested within my category are Entrepreneurship and General
Management. With Entrepreneurship, I think individuals are able to think in a more innovative and solution-
driven way. Entrepreneurs are always trying to solve a problem in an innovative way that they can make profit
and this is very interesting to me. I would like to start my own business one day so this is an important area for
me. General Management is very important especially when having your own business. I think having poor
management skills can lead to the fall of your business, so this is key.
3. What skills do you need to develop further to be successful in your co-op search?
I have to work on my organizational skills. I understand this is very important and I have been trying to be more
organized in school. I have learned to manage my time, but need to start taking notes, creating a ‘to-do’ list and
setting a calendar in order to have my thoughts, assignments, and tasks in order.
4. What motivates you in this co-op search: money, prestige, work/life balance, security, making a contribution to
society? Something else?
My major motivation in this co-op search is putting what I have learned in school to work. I want this
experience to learn more in a hands-on environment. I am excited to complete my co-op because I believe it is
what will give me a clearer view on what I want for my future.
