Activity Guide and Evaluation Rubric – Task 4 Speaking task forum and practice
session.
1. Activity Description
The student will be able to describe orally experiences and facts or dreams, linking
phrases with fluency, self-confidence, vocabulary, and pronunciation in an interview
developed with the tutor by skype.
An activity where will be evaluated the students´ oral skill, through a video and an
interview that the student must present to the teacher.
Check out and study the online content of the module 5 and Module 6 which are
located in the E-book of Learning Environment.

Stage 1: Develop the module activities.
Send and share the 4 screenshots of the activity of module 5 in the Discussion Forum
- Unit 2 - Task 4 - Speaking task forum and practice session.

Stage 2. Record a video.
Think and choose an unusual situation you have had in your life, it can be good or bad,
and talk about your experience using sentences in the present perfect. You can talk
about the best moment you have had.
-A strange place you have visited.
-A horse ride.
-An excellent experience traveling around the world, or an experience jumping out of
a plane with a parachute, the first experience eating octopus or rat, etc.
You must begin with your full name and group number, and then explain what your
experience is.
You can record the video with the tool that you decide (cellphone, camera, and
computer) and upload it to Youtube, Vimeo, loom, screencast, or any tool that
allows you to do it, with the purpose to obtain a link.
The video must be between one to three minutes.

Previously to recording the video, write your script. This will help you to organize your
ideas.
You cannot read during your video, you have to study previously because we are
evaluating the speaking skill and not the reading skill.
Example of a script:
I am Laura Serrano. I have had an excellent experience when I Jumped of a parachute the last year. I
was in Sierra Alta, a mountain located in Cesar Department. I was with two friends and I have never
been to a beautiful place like this. I have enjoyed this trip. The experience has impacted me because I
have spent little money, I have shared with my friends, I have seen the mountains so near and I have
felt like I was an eagle. I have ridden a horse but jumping of a parachute is better. I have felt free, and
relaxed. I have been so happy and I would like to repeat this experience.
Each student, individually must publish his/her link video in the forum. You don´t have
to upload files to the forum, you only send the link, with a short explanation about
what about is his/her experience. So your teacher and partners can watch it and send
to you the feedback.
To have in mind: If you upload your videos on time at least a week before the activity
closes, you will have the chance of the feedback from your tutor and you can improve
your video uploading it again to have a better score.
Stage 4: feedback
Each student must send his/her feedback to his/her partner’s video in the collaborative
forum. It must help to improve the contributions and help to correct the mistakes. Each
student must send at least one feedback.
Note: In case a student has sent his/her contribution on time but any other one has
sent his/her participation. This student must send a message inviting the group

member to participate and signing the due dates of the activity, besides can send a
motivational message as a way to encourage the group member’s participation.
Stage 6: Interview
Each tutor will send a drive file to the students by internal mail of the course, in which
each student has to register previously to present an interview with his/her tutor by
skype. For this interview the student has to register previously, choose a date and an
hour in which he/she will develop the interview.
Each student has to have skype count and write it in the drive file sent by the tutor.
In the interview each student has to talk about the experience he/she has recorded
and has sent by the forum, and he/she must answer questions about the experience
that the teacher will do to the student.
All the questions in the interview are about your personal information.
Note: Is necessary that the student publishes his/her video and all the practices before
to the interview. It is the way the student prepares for the interview. In the interview,
the student has to use the present perfect to answer the questions.

With a week to close the activity, the teacher will not answer for the interview space.
For that reason, register and keep a space previously.
Send the final task in a PDF document, organized in the template you find HERE

At initial information environment, you must check the agenda out to verify the
opening and closing of the task.
At evaluation environment, you must upload a PDF document with the screenshots
of the activities developed in module 5 and the link of the video required in the guide.
At learning environment, you must check out and study the online content.
Enter to the forum and participate with your screenshots and your video in the
development of the collaborative task.
-Participation in the forum with the instructions given in the guide. Practices of
Module 5.
-Link of video in Present perfect.
-Participation in the interview with his/her tutor by skype.
-Final task sent by Evaluation environment in word document with the
screenshots of the activities developed in module 5, and the link of the video required
in the guide.

2. General Guidelines for the Development of Evidences to Submit
For Individual evidences, consider the following: Every member of the group
must participate with academic’s contributions in the activity development.
Before delivering the requested product, all the requirements indicated in this
activity guide must be checked.
Please keep in mind that all individual or collaborative written products must comply
with the spelling rules and presentation conditions defined in this activity guide.
Regarding the use of references, consider that the product of this activity must
comply with APA style.
In any case, make sure you comply with the rules and avoid academic plagiarism.
You can review your written products using the Turnitin tool found in the virtual
campus.
Under the Academic Code of Conduct, the actions that infringe the academic order,
among others, are the following: paragraph e) Plagiarism is to present as your own
work all or part of a written report, task or document of invention carried out by
another person. It also implies the use of citations or lack of references, or it
includes citations where there is no match between these and the reference and

3. Evaluation Rubric Template
Second evaluation High level: The student participates in the collaborative forum,
standard sending the screenshots about the activities of module 5,
(Criterion): applying the contents of the unit, besides the student send the

Participation & feedback to his/her partners. The student participates in the
interaction interview with good preparation.
If your work is at this level, you will get from 25 points
to 30 points

If your work is at this level, you will get from 14 points
to 8 points
Low level
The student doesn´t send any of the screenshots to the
forum, according to the activities of module 5; he/she doesn´t
record the video or it doesn´t correspond to the instruction
given in the guide, and he/she doesn´t send the link of it by
the collaborative forum. Besides he/she doesn´t present the
interview by skype with the tutor likewise the final word
document by the evaluation environment is not complete.
