Activity guidelines and evaluation rubric – Task 4


- Oral production experience an activity.
1. Activity Description

Type of activity: Individual


Evaluation moment: Intermediate Unit 2

With this activity, you are expected to achieve the following learning
outcomes:

To express through a video, experiences in English using linguistic structures and


vocabulary according to the level, taking exercises and readings from the online
content as a reference.

The activity consists of:

Read all the directions in this guide and complete every activity directly in the
Discussion Forum - Unit 2 - Task 4 - Oral Production: experience an activity.

• Study the E-book Online content.

• Participate in the Student’s Talking Time (STT) or Schedule a practice meeting


with your tutor.

• Upload a video, share the link (Youtube, Vimeo, Google Drive, Onedrive) of
your video in the forum. Verify it belongs to a public category(no passwords
should be required to open it) Check that your link works perfectly.

For the development of the activity consider that:

Steps:

Step 1: STT or Practice Meeting

Option A: STT
Participate actively in the STT programmed by your tutor. In the forum you can find
the schedule.

Participate in at least 2 Student’s Talking Time (STT). Take a screenshot of your


participation in the activity, your name and/or photograph must be in the evidence.

Option B: Schedule a practice meeting with your tutor.

In the practice meeting:

Take advantage and practice the pronunciation with him or her of the topic that you
chose for your video.

Remember to take the screenshot of your meeting.


Step 2: The Video – Experience an activity.

Choose 1 topic – Just ONE

Topic 1: A story telling.

Making use of the grammatical structures used in the writing activity, you are going
to talk about a family, work or student anecdote that has happened to you or a
close person.

Topic: Simple past and past progressive.


Name of the video: A story telling by_(name)_.
Length of the video: 2 – 5 minutes max.

Topic 2: Interesting places in my city.

You are going to imagine you are a travel agent. You are going to record a video
showing at least 2 touristic places in your town or city.
You have to appear in the video all the time and show the places in real time.

You have to say and show:


Name of the place.
How can you get there?
What can you do there?
Can you find souvenirs there? Which ones?
What kind of food can you eat or drink there?
Which is a nice spot to take a picture there? why?

Topic: Simple present


Name of the video: Travel agent___(name)___for UNADNews.
Length of the video: 2 – 5 minutes max.

Topic 3: Talking about a picture.

Having in mind the picture below, you are going to tell your tutor at least 10
sentences of what is happening there and describe in 5 sentences the picture.

Topics: Simple present, present progressive, there is, there are.


Name of the video: the picture_(your name) .
Length of the video: 2 – 5 minutes max.

Share the link (Youtube, Vimeo, Google Drive, Onedrive) of your video in the forum.
Verify it belongs to a public category (no passwords should be required to open it)
Check that your link works perfectly.

Video Conditions:
• Introduce yourself at the beginning.
• Record the video in a luminous place and with good sound.
• You have to appear in the video most of the time (depending the topic you
chose). You can use photos and support your speech with a presentation.

Step 3: Self-assessment: reflection and personal growth

2. General Guidelines for the Development of Evidences to Submit

For Individual evidence, consider the following:
• Every member of the group must participate with academic contributions in
the activity development.
• Before submitting the requested product, students should check that it meets
all the requirements mentioned in this activity guide.
• Each student must develop the steps of the task and post the evidence in the
forum.
• The final product must be sent in the Evaluation Environment.
Each student is responsible for his/her process.
Consider that all individual or group written work must fulfill with the orthographic
rules and presentation conditions that have been defined.

Please keep in mind that all individual or collaborative written products must comply
with the spelling rules and presentation conditions defined in this activity guide.
Regarding the use of references, consider that the product of this activity must
comply with APA style.
In any case, make sure you comply with the rules and avoid academic plagiarism.
You can review your written products using the Turnitin tool found in the virtual
campus.

Under the Academic Code of Conduct, the actions that infringe the academic order,
