About SuprDaily

Supr Daily, is a daily delivery service and pioneering the grocery revolution in India.
We leverage the power of the milk railroad to deliver eggs, bread, fruits, veggies,
and other groceries to your doorstep by 7 am, daily. We are on a quest to bring
convenience to over 100 million Indians every day. Over the next few years, we
plan to be a part of our customers’ daily lives by completely revolutionizing the
way India buys groceries. Today, we deliver milk and groceries. Tomorrow, the
potential for growth is limitless.
While Supr Daily has been around for a short period, the pace of our growth has
been incredible – from serving ~6k customers daily in the suburbs of Mumbai in
late 2018, today (in June 2021) Supr Daily is serving >210k customers daily across
6 major regions in India - Mumbai, Pune, NCR, Bangalore, Hyderabad and
Chennai. This is a tremendous ~33 times increase in the overall customer base in
a span of 2.5 years and we are embarking on another 10X journey in the next 2
years.
Supr Daily is a business unit within Swiggy with dedicated business, product,
engineering, and design teams.
About the Engineering Team
We’re a hard-working, passionate bunch who are motivated by challenging
problems, collaboration, and business impact.
We strongly believe that speed is "the" moat. We optimize for speed of learning.
That means a number of different things: how fast can you build and deploy
software, how fast you run experiments and validate hypotheses, how tight are
your feedback loops, and how good are the decisions that you can make off the
back of that.
We are part of cross-functional autonomous pods where dedicated business,
engineering (front end & back end), product, analytics, and design folks, work
together to deliver great products, blitz-scale our service, and craft a great
consumer experience. We demo our products and learnings once every 2 weeks
on Demo Days, live-streamed to the entire company.
Today (in June 2021) we are a 29 member engineering team (21 Backend and 8
Frontend), working on complex problems in storefront, logistics, warehouse
management, customer experience, growth, and category management. We are
very proud of our lean culture which directly results in every one of us operating at
the edge of our comfort zone, working on complex and high-impact problems for
the business every single day.

As a Sr. Software Engineer you will

• Solve complex problems, from start to finish
◦ Work with product managers, technical leads and engineering managers
to understand and define product requirements and roadmaps for high-
level business and technical problems
◦ Individually do functional modelling, break-down of a module into tasks
and provide accurate estimates
◦ Participate first hand in system design and architecture discussions
• Build Awesome tech
◦ Independently come up with low level designs
◦ Write modular, extensible, readable and performant code with high quality
tests and documentation
◦ Work jointly with other team members to deliver complex challenges.
◦ Understand and use existing systems efficiently, contributing to them
where necessary
◦ Ship high quality products with an eye on scale, reliability and engineering
excellence
• See the impact and improve
◦ Work with broader stakeholders to track the impact of projects/features
and proactively iterate to improve them
◦ Also participate in sprint planning, and help our team get better in
execution.
• Improve the platform
◦ Come up with best practices to help the team achieve their technical tasks
and continually thrive in improving the technology of the product/team.
◦ Drive the adoption of best practices & regularly participate in code
reviews, design reviews.
◦ Improve operational excellence of the platform and contribute to on-call
responsibilities

As a Sr. Software Engineer you must

• Have 2+ years of non-internship professional software development
experience
• Have strong analytical, coding, and debugging abilities.
◦ Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to choose the right data
structures and algorithms.
◦ Thorough understanding of CS fundamentals and Object-oriented
programming.
◦ Deep knowledge of UI fundamentals in JavaScript (ES5 & 6), CSS, and
HTML.
◦ Sound understanding of one of the UI frameworks or libraries like Angular,
React, etc
◦ Expertise in hooking UI Components to backend APIs.
• Be passionate and a fast learner
◦ Have curiosity about how things work, and a strong desire to solving
complex and interesting real-world problems
◦ Have worked or be very passionate to work in a startup environment with
high levels of ownership and accountability
◦ Have a go-getter attitude that reflects in energy and intent behind
assigned tasks. Also be proactive and hungry for continuous
improvements and passionately work in a collaborative environment.
◦ Thrive on learning new technologies and don't believe in one-size-fits-all
solutions. Should be able to adapt easily to meet the needs of our massive
growth and rapidly evolving business environment.
• Be a team player
◦ Are a strong communicator who can explain complex technical concepts
to product managers, designers, support and other engineers.
◦ Are an open communicator who shares thoughts and opinions frequently,
listens intently and takes constructive feedback.
