Periodic maintenance

MAINTENANCE PHILOSOPHY

• Regular maintenance

• Skilled personnel performs:

o Calibrations and validations
o Functional tests
o Traditional troubleshooting
based on a good knowledge of the system

• Only use spare parts from Vimex spare parts lists.

MARITIME DETECTION SYSTEMS

Safety

During some maintenance the

system can operate.

On other maintenance the system

needs to shut down.

Shut down system with

main switch.

Follow the instructions!

Step Description Picture

1. Check temperature on HSL (heated

sample line.
Warm at probe outlet and SCS inlet.

2. Record alarms in DCS (distributed Control

System).

3. Check if the screen of the SO2/CO2

analyser in the analyser cabinet is
blinking.

• No action (scrubber is off and back

purge is activated – it will go back to
normal).

• If blinking remains after back purging is

deactivated, check the flow in
flowmeters on SCS and analyser
cabinets. Refer to User manual.

5. Check that there are sufficient instrument air and
calibration gases according to the procedures
given in the user manual for flow adjustment.
6. Cooler unit (analyser module):

Check that air inlet and outlet vents are clean.

7. Check flow on span and air inlets on flowmeter.

LOGO function = F4.
Normal: 1 to 1.5 l/min
Alarm if : < 0.8 l/min
If adjustment is necessary refer to flow
adjustment in the user manual.
Span check (LOGO function = F2). Calibrate (F3)
if reading differ from value on gas bottle.

22. Perform leak test. The system is running during leak test.
1. Dismount the heated trace cable from the sample
probe.
2. Turn off and dismount the calibration bottle from the
solenoid valve Cal1.
3. Select air inlet by using the F4 button.

where the sample probe usually is connected and open
the regulator on the calibration bottle until you read
0.6bar.
5. Change from air inlet with the F4 button until you see
the correct stream which the calibration bottle is
connected to.
6. If you have a sample line without leakage the readings
should be approximately the same as the values on the
calibration bottle.
