Project Title: Drone Deployment in Delivery

Project Charter
of Automated [drone deployment in
delivery]

Mission of Automated: Using modern automation technology to achieve high productivity in

all areas.

Vision of Automated: Automation and Performance for all.

Value of Automated: Fast is better than slow.

1
Project Details
Business Need/Project Objectives:

 Increase the number of deliveries up to 10,000 orders using drones, which will improve
delivery efficiency. According to data from Wolt, they deliver 6-7 southand orders per day.
 Reduce delivery time by 2-4 times. According to statistics from Chocofood and Wolt average
delivery time in Astana is 40 minutes.
 Increase the number of customers who use the delivery service by 7-8%. “In Kazakhstan,
people who at least once ordered food online are only 6.7%” says CEO of Chocofood
Nikolay Sherbak.
 Buy 50 drones. This number of drones is enough to start with.
 Find and order special transport bags for drones.

Project Requirements:
 Coordination with local authorities. Since we are using a flying machine we have to
approve with the local authorities

 Software platform. We will need software to complete the project. More precisely, to work
with papers and adjust the drones.

 Audit. Independent verification and assessment of the financial statements of the enterprise
by third-party specialists or companies.

 Information movement. We need team unity and our actions should be transparent so that
everyone knows who does what.

 Agile methodology. Agile is needed to make changes if there are complications in the
drone launch process.

Product Description/Deliverables:

New drone delivery system

Parcel delivery by drone is a relatively new niche in the field of postal deliveries, which the world's
largest companies and retailers are puzzling over.
Drone delivery involves the use of an unmanned helicopter - a copter. The container with the parcel
is either placed in the lower part of the aircraft or attached to the top.

Project Does Not Include:

In our project, we only deliver food and do not deliver other items.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Capture the below details about your project. Make sure you involve your sponsor(s) to help
articulate each part of the project.

4 Project Considerations
High-Level Risks:
Time
This risk is very popular for software development. This risk is dangerous because due to possible
delays in the production of this software, our team will not have time to adapt to changing
requirements in relation to the product.

Personnel
The risk or loss of a shortage of project team members. Even if this the problem does not last long,
it can lead to errors and delayed deadlines.

Weather related issues

We cannot predict the state of the weather, so it is risky to work in bad weather and the whole
project could fail.
Acceptance Criteria:

 Have a drone that can deliver the order to the destination

 Deliver orders on time and without delays
 Increase the demand for our company's products

Assumptions:

 Development of one of the most demanded services of our time

 Increase of the client base by at least 5%
 Delivery of the order is carried out in a maximum of half an hour
 The company will become more popular and receive offers for cooperation

Constraints:

(ITM-2005)

Limitation. It will not be possible to deliver orders through private sectors, so it will be necessary to
look for reliable ways.

Time. Our task is to make a high-quality product in the fastest possible time, since some other team
can develop such a project.

Budget. There may not be enough money to implement the entire project, so more sponsors need
to be attracted.
