Module 1 : Nature and Elements of Dance


Guide Questions:
1. What shapes and actions did your body make in performing the dance? Kindly draw or
describe on your notebook.

I used symmetrical and asymmetrical body shape in dancing. In Actions, I used both
non-locomotor and locomotor movements. I have turning, bending, and swinging steps which
belongs to non-locomotor movements, and I also have toe pointing steps and stepping steps
which belongs to locomotor movements.

2. How did you made use of the space? Describe in terms of:
● Direction – I do left and right side walks.
● Level – I completed my dance steps with medium level space which only
includes standing and kneeling.
● Size – I completed my dance steps with small size or movement or actions.
● Focus – I only focused on my steps, as we see in the video, I don’t look at
different directions.

3. Describe the timing of dance.

The timing is average speed, not too fast, not too slow. It also has pauses but no silent
beats.

4. Describe the quality of dance movements applied in your chosen dance.

For me. It is average quality, not too perfect, not too bad. I used smaller size of actions
or movements because my place of dancing is a bit small. In addition, I am dancing a
happy/funny type song, not hip hop, cramping or anything.

REFLECTION :
Today I have learned the Nature and Elements of Dance.
I find performing a dance and it is the most interesting because I remember my childhood days
which I was a dancer.

Module 3 : Managing Stress through Dance


Guide Questions:
1.1 How do you feel after doing an exercise dance?
I feel tired but also feel relieved and happy about myself.
1.2 Is it really possible to incorporate any kind of dance into exercise dance?
It depends on someone who is dancing.
1.3 Aside from HipHop, what other form of dance can be incorporated in dance exercises?
- Ballroom
- Tap Dance
- Jazz

REFLECTION :
1. What are the reasons why most of the people don’t have time for physical activities such
as exercise and dancing?

One of the reasons why most of the people don’t have time for physical activities such
as exercise and dancing is because of lack of time, especially for adults that put most of
their time is working. Kids nowadays were being busy in studying, playing video games
or hanging with friends and going to somewhere else because of lost interest in physical
activities.

2. At this time of pandemic, how can dancing help to relieve stress?

Since our country is in pandemic state, most of the towns and cities in the Philippines
were locked down. For the people who has and has no gadgets and has nothing else to remove
their boredom, dancing is one of the best activities for them. It can also provide benefits to our
body and mind. Dancing makes our body healthy and with the help of music we can gain
interest in dancing and relieve the stress we have.
Module 4: Philippine Folk Dance
Guide Questions:
Directions. Answer the following questions
1. Muslim Dance characterized by vivid colors and rhythmic movements which reflect the
influence of Arabian and Indo-Malaysian cultures.
2. Tribal Dance performed essential "for the gods" ceremonial and ritual type of dances.
3. Cordillera Dance dances to celebrate victories, festivals, religious rituals, thanksgiving,
etc; musical instruments include nose flute, bamboo guitar, drums, gongs and wooden
sticks.
4. Maria Clara Dance named after the chief female character of Jose Rizal's Noli Me
Tangere; Spanish influenced "Filipinized" by the use of bamboo castanets and abanico.
5. Rural Dance illustrate the fiesta spirit and love of life; best known type of Filipino dance.

Directions. Answer the following questions.
1. Would you recommend dancing as an activity done at home especially when most
people stay at home, why or why not?

Yes, I would recommend dancing as an activity done at home especially, we are in pandemic
state right now. It is best to dance at home than dancing with many people in public or crowded
places, because we might get infected by the COVID-19 virus. We can still dance together with
our friends or relatives that far away through video calls, there we can dance together without
having a possibility to get infected by the COVID-19 virus.

1. How can you fight the covid-19 using this FITT Principle?

We can fight Covid-19 using FITT Principle by providing us guide and discipline for our
healthy exercise, this makes our mind focus on developing a healthy body which able to
strengthen our immune system and prevent any virus from infecting us.

2. Why do we need to consistently do regular physical activities?

We need to consistently do regular physical activities to strengthen our immune system


that benefits our body and to make our bones and cells active so that we won’t feel too much
pain so easily, and we can prevent having a deadly disease. We know that work or study takes
a huge time to us, but we need not to forget exercising regularly to recover our body from the
stress due to too much work.
