QUESTIONS
1. What do you think are the benefits that can be gained from folk dance?
2. Would you consider participating in a folk dance competition? Why and why not?
3. How will you apply folk dance in your daily living?
ANSWERS
1. There are many benefits we can gain from folk dance. It helps make our bones
get stronger and reduced risk of osteoporosis. It helps us achieve better
coordination, agility and flexibility. It improves balance and spatial awareness and
increased physical confidence.

2. Philippine folk dances are a celebration of daily life, health, peace, war, harvest
times and other aspects of life. With this, I consider myself participating in a folk-
dance presentation or competition because it's a traditional dance in the
Philippines. This is what gives us identity, this is us-Filipinos. And by doing so,
we are contributing to the preservation of our heritage culture. For I believe if this
will not be put to practice, as time pass, eventually this would be forgotten. It is
therefore imperative for us to join if there would be competition on folk dances so
as to preserve and conserve our traditions and culture.

3. Every action we do is but related to folk dance. Indeed, applying folk dance in our
daily life can help improve our posture and balance. If regularly applied, this
would lessen one’s stress and would bring god vibes to everyone so he/she may
do all chores and responsibilities with a light heart. For I believe through dancing
our body releases endorphins and helps reduce stress levels that in turn lessens
the health problem cases. Not only that, it provides an activity that is socially
engaging, physically challenging, creative, and culturally and mentally
stimulating.
