“What have you learned from the activity?” “We got the book category
where we found out
components such as

author’s format, they are
really different. We only use
last name and first initial in
APA while we use the last
name and first name in
MLA.”
“What about the other category?”
“Ma’am, we have different
format from others. Like in
e-book, we have Author's
Last Name, First
Name. Title. Edition if given
and is not first
edition, Publisher Name
often shortened, Year of
publication. Name of Library
Database,  Permalink URL.
“As you can observe, every category has
different format which means what?” “Which means we need to
have techniques to identify
as to what category it
belongs and in what way it is
written.”

C. ABSTRACTION

resource, revised according to
the 9th edition of the MLA
manual published in April 2021,
offers examples for the general
format of MLA research papers,
in-text citations, and the Works

“Very good. Now. Let’s look at these common

citations”

“Look at the following examples, what do you

observe, class?”

author’s last name and first
name, title of the book,

publication.”
