The Origins and Evolution of Language

 language is perhaps the most difficult problem in science.

 6,000 different languages in the world. most are impenetrable to others so most people
will speak a language or maybe two or maybe four or five but there are over 5,000
languages that you will be completely impenetrable.
 language of miracles miraculous things that happen all that comes from the Old
Testament Bible according to the Old Testament God gave language to Adam people
then became arrogant, and they built the Tower of Babel in an attempt to get closer to
heaven. but God is a vengeful God and he destroyed the tower where the people,
scattered, and so was the language and that's the biblical record why we have so many
languages now.
 The foremost linguist of our time is Noam Chomsky, who actually made a considerable
contribution to how we put language together.
 positively biblically what he thinks is that roughly 90 thousand years ago a mutation
occurred in one individual he didn't call that individual Adam he called that individual
Prometheus for some reason known to him and from there it spread to all other people
and eventually created all the languages of the world That is truly a biblical story because
it is said that language occurred in one individual once with a single mutation.
 language doesn't come from vocal calls it comes from gestures language it starts from
making gestures sign language is purely gestural it's done secretly it's done with hand
gestures, but it's also done with facial movements so that's a strong argument. language
can be at least purely gestural and as effective as speech, we now know that sign
language is linguistically sophisticated, it uses the same brain areas as the language
spoken to us. and thus a university in the United States called Gallaudet University which
actually only uses sign language in all its classes even when it teaches poetry so there is a
form of poetry in signs now we all also all move when we speak there I am gesturing.
 people spread out from Africa about 90,000 years ago spread all over the world, they use
the language they speak.
 adapted to geography and culture and religion maybe so that's why all these things
became different
