This lesson composes both teacher


and students’ involvement. Teacher
acts as the guidance in introducing the
topic and students are encouraged to
discover in depth about the lesson.

English language is the main medium

7. Trainee Teacher Reflection

In overall, the processes involved in


the task are similar to the experience
the trainee teacher had when teaching
at school.

The process starts by designing of the


lesson plan. This involves the process
of unpacking the standard in DSKP to
identify the objective of the lesson and
determine what suppose to be
achieved by the students. Thus, this
stage implies the importance of
mastering this concept as it helps and
stimulates deep learning concept.

The process continues with the


preparation of the teaching aids and
activity. As the environment of the
teaching requires on physical
classroom, so the teaching aids and
activity prepared are considering
students’ readiness. Among the
aspects are the students’ total number
in the classroom and students’
proficiency level in the targeted
language.

The last process is teaching. The


teaching was fun yet quite challenging
because this is the first time for the
trainee teacher to do microteaching
through recording. Teaching in real
life-situation and teaching virtually
(recorded) are two sides of a coin. It
requires more confident and need
more preparation to ensure that the
teaching and learning are on the right
track to achieve the objective.

Some noticeable drawback in the


teaching is the trainee teacher
mistakenly convey the incorrect
information. At 15m.33s (refer video)
the trainee teacher said the plural form
for foot is foots. But the correct plural
form is feet. The trainee teacher has
highlighted the mistake and do
correction in the video caption.

In conclusion, the microteaching task


has given positive impact for the
trainee teacher’s overview in
education field. It encourages ones to
work harder and keeps on being better
in future.
