The primary purpose for this bulletin is to provide

information if control valve replacement is required.

The secondary purpose is if you are ordering a seal kit

(P/N 6693273) to repair a leak between sections of an
original control valve with less than 100 hours of use.
There has been a small number of these cases where
new seals did not provide a lasting repair. If you are
ordering a seal kit for this reason, we recommend
installing the new control valve instead. If the valve has
many hours of use without leaking between the sections,
the seal kit is recommended and should provide a lasting
repair.

[Figure 1] The original eight section control valve (P/N
6690713) is no longer available. The replacement valve
(P/N 7204326) has five sections. The mounting panel
must be trimmed and new mounting holes added to
install the new valve.

When valve replacement is required, order the parts

listed below and follow the procedure.

Refer to the backhoe service manual as necessary

for details of procedures outlined below. 3

Remove the access cover to the hydraulic control valve. 4

Clean the area around the control valve. Mark all the
tubelines and hoses for correct installation. Disconnect
and plug the tubelines and hoses.

[Figure 4] Locate the new control valve mounting holes

(Item 5) per the following instructions:

1. Measure down 56.9 mm (2.24 in) (Item 1) from the top

of the center tab and make a horizontal line.
2. Measure down 117.0 mm (4.61 in) (Item 2) from that
line and make a second horizontal line.

3. Measure outward 32.0 mm (1.26 in) (Item 3) from the
inside edge of the large opening and make a vertical
[Figure 2] Remove and discard the three control valve line intersecting the horizontal lines.

4. Measure left 316.0 mm (12.44 in) (Item 4) of the first
vertical line and make a second vertical line

5. Mark the three line intersections using a center
2 punch. Drill three 9.5 mm (3/8 in) diameter holes
(Item 5). Paint any exposed metal.

[Figure 3] Measure 9.52 mm (.375 in) (Item 1) down
from the bottom edge of the two existing notches and
draw a line. Remove the material inside the two areas
shown (Item 2). P107002

[Figure 5] Position two new bolts 17C514 (Item 1) in the

holes on the right side of the panel and the one longer
new bolt 17C524 (Item 2) in the top left side hole. Install
the two spacer plates 7204403 (Item 3) on the hardware
prior to installing the control valve.

Original Control Valve Assembly P-75238
[Figure 6] Remove and discard the original fitting from
the top left port (Item 1). Remove the elbow fitting (Item
2) and install in the second top port from the left (Item 1)
[Figure 7] in the new control valve.
Remove the remaining fittings from the original control
valve and install in the corresponding ports of the new
control valve. Discard the original control valve.

New Control Valve Assembly P107003
[Figure 7] Install and position the two new fittings,
straight connector (Item 2) (P/N 15KB1010) and elbow
(Item 3) (P/N 11K7) in the remaining open port.
Install the new control valve assembly and the new nut
(Item 4) (P/N 83D5) on the top left bolt. Tighten all control
valve mounting hardware.
Reconnect and tighten the existing tubelines and hoses.
Replace the access cover and hardware.
