Interview With Mrs.

Pusta

Tenth grade English Teacher Mrs.Pusta, had told the importance of being an english teacher as

she herself wasn’t really interested in english until College.

“I did not really care for it (English), and in high school I did like that. I say the research

part. I love researching and finding out things. But I love that in college if you were able, you

could prove your point you weren't wrong you can find textual evidence to support your way of

thinking and send me I just thought that was great I also really love poetry and I feel like when

you teach English to get a lot of conversations,” Pusta says.

Pusta continues by explaining she was in between becoming a Nurse or Teacher as she

looked up to her mother who was an english teacher.

“ I just wasn't sure at the time, what I was going to do if I was going to be nursing or teaching

and nursing you don't really get to interact as much with them on a day-to-day basis,” Pusta

said. “It's more like when they're sick or something.”

Pusta then gave the reason why she even wanted to go into being a High school

teacher. “The major and I originally was going to go for elementary education and U of M

Dearborn mess up my credit and as a freshman I didn't realize that, but I could probably

run classes for the first year and I was mortified I was like oh my gosh I can't do high

school they're going to hate me, and then it turned out to be a blessing in disguise

because I fell in love with a contents with reading and just knowing that you can be right

by proving your thought process and finding actual evidence to support that there's really

not a specific right or wrong answer in that. Also, I subbed after I graduated for an

elementary class and I only made it for like a half day, I was like I won't be doing this

again.”

Pusta then gave advice to kids to get through high school and college
“It's okay to not know what you want to do your senior year or even your

freshman year of college you have a lot of pre wrap but you can take whatever it is that

you choose to do whether it's go to college or trade school to make sure you're happy

with it sometimes you don't realize that's not what they want so if you can job shadow

beforehand or do something in that field cut that might give you a better inside look of it

that be great. My husband wanted to see if it was not something that he wanted to do

anymore he loved kids but he just didn't like all the paperwork that came with it so I

would say definitely try and job shadow work in the field and possible even if it's not in

the can you're going into but just somewhere in that field like a community at the fan or a

teacher's aide a few were thinking about going into teaching if your doctor and maybe

call and see if you can link up with a teacher make a lot of people are a lot more open to

having young folk align yourself go in and just kind of observing what it would be like if

they chose to choose that career path way.” Pusta says
