DURGIANA TEMPLE

The Durgiana Mandir is a Hindu temple

situated in the city of Amritsar, Punjab, India.
Though a Hindu temple, its architecture is
similar to the Sikh Golden Temple. This temple
derives its name from the Goddess Durga, the
chief Goddess who is worshipped here. Murtis
of Lakshmi and Vishnu are also located and
worshipped in the temple.
QILA MUBARAK
Qila Mubarak, is a historical monument in the heart
of the city of Bathinda in Punjab, India. It is
recognized as monument of national importance
and maintained by Archaeological Survey of India.
It has been in existence from 1100-1200 AD in its
current place and is the oldest surviving fort in India.
It was here that Razia Sultan, the first woman to take
charge of the Delhi throne was incarcerated on her

GOLDEN TEMPLE
In the early 19th century, 100 kg of gold were applied
to the inverted lotus-shaped dome and decorative
marble was added. All this gold and marble work took
place under the patronage of Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
The legendary warrior king was a major donor of
money and materials for the shrine and is remembered
with much affection by the Sikh community and Punjabi
people.
JALLIANWALLA BAGH
Jallianwala Bagh is a historic garden and ‘memorial
of national importance’ in Amritsar, India, preserved
in the memory of those wounded and killed in the
Jallianwala Bagh Massacre that occurred on the
site on the festival of Baisakhi, 13 April 1919. It houses
a museum, gallery and a number of memorial
structures. The 7-acre (28,000 m ) garden site of the
massacre is located in the vicinity of the Golden
Temple complex, the holiest shrine of Sikhism and is
managed by the Jallianwala Bagh National
Memorial Trust, which was established as per the
'Jallianwala Bagh National Memorial Act, 1951'.
AKAL TAKHT
The Akal Takht ("Throne of the Timeless One") is one of
five takhts (seats of power) of the Sikhs. It is located in
the Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) complex in
Amritsar, Punjab, India. The Akal Takht was built by Shri
Guru Hargobind Ji as a place of justice and
consideration of temporal issues; the highest seat of
earthly authority of the Khalsa (the collective body of
the Sikhs) and the place of the Jathedar, the highest
spokesman of the Sikhs. The current Jathedar of Akal
Takht appointed by the SGPC is Giani Harpreet Singh,
while the Sarbat Khalsa calls for the reinstitution of
Jagtar Singh Hawara.
GOBINDGARH FORT
Gobindgarh Fort is a historic military fort located in the
center of the city of Amritsar in the Indian state of
Punjab. The Fort was until recently occupied by the
army but was opened to the public from 10 February
2017. Today the fort is being developed as a museum
and theme park, as a repository of Punjab’s history.
