Science-fiction Club
Science-fiction Club is a place for sci-fi lovers to exchange their fantastic ideas as well as their
favorite sci-fi movies and novels. As long as you have the passion for science-fiction and are
willing to share your enthusiasm, be a member of us!
Feidian Comic Club is a student club consisting of comic and animation lovers in Fudan University.
We aim at cultivating talents for Chinese cartoon industry. In this way, we hope that we can
promote the development of comic and animation so that they can be better understood and
accepted by more people.
The Association of LanguageShare or LanShare for short, aims at promoting the culture of
Canton, Hong Kong and Macau through Cantonese Course as well as activities which make a
feature of these cultures. The association is evaluated with four stars out of five on a scale of 200
associations on campus.
The pronunciation of LanShare is very similar to that of 零社 in mandarin, which means ‘special’
in Cantonese, so the name of the association attaches both cultural features and uniqueness to
our group.
Since founded in 2004, we have been working on sharing the fantastic culture of Canton, Hong
Kong and Macau as well as promoting the integration of all kinds of cultures in Fudan University.
We also concentrate on popularizing teaching Cantonese, which is acknowledged by the U.N. as
a language widely used in the world. As a result, numerous Cantonese enthusiasts have drawn
what they need from our assistance, and therefore time witnesses the cohesion and friendship
among us.
Apart from making progress in regular Cantonese courses, we have annually held characteristic
singing contests in Cantonese in the past five years and two concerts of Cantonese songs as well,
3
which have always been a hit on campus. In addition, the activities such as series of interviews
titled Under the Lion Rock, Lingnan Gourmet Festival and Memorial Night of Bruce Lee were
incredibly welcomed and gained stormy applause.
We are a group of people crazy about our own culture and would like to do everything to protect
and promote it. With so many expectations, along with supports we have received, we will try
our best to benefit more people.
The Association of Coffee and Liquor was founded in 2005 by a student of Fudan University, who
has gained the certificate of professional mixer. This association will hold a series of regular and
formal activities, such as courses for tasting, making coffee and lectures for members to know
more about liquors, wine and cocktail. In the daily life, relaxing and informal activities like clubing
will also be held. All members can take part in our activities depending on their own will.
This is the first university community with the title of "Harry Potter fans Association" in China. We
intend to penetrate "Harry Potter" into everyone’s daily life rather than making it to be a fashion
trend. Just as Dumbledore says, “it's all about love”, the witches and wizards in Harry Potter Fans
Associations share the same magical word—love, although we come from different places.
Entertaining and interesting activities are waiting for you, quickly put on wizard robe, and enjoy
the magic in our magical world!

In China, tea has already been known, according to legend, for more than a thousand years. The
custom of drinking tea, first for medicinal purposes and then for relaxation, was already
widespread throughout China.
A tea ceremony is a ritualized form of making tea. And with the Tea Ceremony Association of
Fudan University, you can enjoy the complicated process of making tea, the delicate way of
drinking tea, and the fascinating Chinese tea culture.
DVDREAM
With the growing popularity of the miniature digital camera, the spread and production of
various DVs, including documentary and aesthetic videos, are welcomed by more and more
people. These DVD works are original and whereby provide the film industry and media field with
a new kind of vitality.
The group of DV and film-making fans in Fudan University is conspicuous and impressive. With
the purpose to provide those DV and film lovers with an opportunity for communication and
information exchange, we take advice and suggestion from all sides. Furthermore, we have
gained support from professional teachers. Therefore, DVDream Association of Fudan University
or DV association for short , was successfully founded in 2007.
The standard of being an excellent association should be judged by its beneficial work done for
the members, as well as the meaningful activities held for them. DVD association targets the film

lovers and spare no efforts to provide all kinds of professional knowledge in order to enrich their
lives and meet with their desire for knowledge.
Our association holds professional training in filming and editing of DV once a month including
lectures on techniques of DV-filming and later -stage editing which aims at improving professional
skills of both our members and students on campus. Moreover, when warm spring or golden
autumn comes, we will usually organize our members to attend a filming activity in nature. In
addition to that, we will also gather members, even non-members, to play roles in the drama
which is written by themselves. In this way, we can not only inspire them, but also offer them a
good chance to realize their dream.
Several years elapsed before the association finally got out of the trouble and marched into a
bright future. Although we are aware of the thistles and thorns awaiting us in the coming road,
our competent and hardworking members will always endeavor and struggle. Absolutely, what
greets us will be an undoubted glorious and magnificent tomorrow!
Founded in April 1987, Fudan LEA (Lecture and Eloquence Association) is committed to enriching
campus culture and promoting language arts.
Four major professional groups, called Speech, Elocution, Hosting and Debate, carry out LEA's
conventional activities, including Speech Club, Hosting Salon, Morning Reading, and standard
debate training. Among all these activities, Annual Fudan Debate Context in April and Freshmen
Speech Contest in September have become true carnivals for Fudan students.
LEA's programs take a variety of forms, from major competitions, lectures, small salons, to
professional trainings and inter-school exchanges.
LEA is the largest association in Fudan University, and their members devote themselves in the
various departments and schools of arts, science, engineering, and medicine.

different topics. We would like to encourage the students to acquire new knowledge and adapt to
the new living environment and to help graduates face the competitive job market. The
Association's final goal is to help students develop a positive attitude to face difficulties on their
way to the bright future.

The Fudan Association of Public Relations is founded in 2009. Now we have about twenty
members as the core team which makes plans and tries to get sponsorship About fifty other
members come to the regular speeches or meetings.
This association is very young and active because of its short history, but we have already made
some outstanding performances. We invited Guo Guangchang, the graduate from our university
years ago and now the richest man in Shanghai, to deliver a speech to the undergraduates on
how to make business and how to make a life plan. This experience really helped us, especially in
the aspect of improving our association. This also gave us a chance to get familiar with the
famous, and expand our resources. With the success last year, we can try something harder this
semester. The greatest challenge we are facing is to arrange the speech of Ma Yun.
The regular activities including meetings among core members, a series of mock trainings and the
9
regular parties among all the members. In these activities, we can provide every students with
the chance to learn how to communicate, how to organize an activity and how to cooperate with
your group members and to improve oneself from both inside and outside.
The Fudan Association of Public Relations has already grown a lot and will surely reach the
promised goal.

which can help improve communication skills and bring the unique atmosphere of academic
fields. We hope that more students, no matter which department they may be from, can
experience the fun of life science and enjoy the process of academic exploring.

The association also aims to make knowledge about biology popular among students and to let
them know how we live in this world and what we should do to maintain a sustainable
development. Thus, we have been trying to add more public charity and volunteer elements to
our activities, which can bring positive connection between other organizations and associations,
in order to work together to build a better academic atmosphere and to make the campus life
more colorful.

Science Group of Fudan University
It has been six years since the Science Group of Fudan University founded on April 22nd, 2005.
The Science Group is well known as an academic group on science. The group is affiliated to
Department of Material Science, and cooperates with it academically once in a while. The Science
Group has grown from a tiny group to a larger one. However, still not satisfied with the present
situation, we are looking forward to make further improvements, in order to draw the attention
from the whole campus.
Besides, students who select the course "A Brief History of Science" are among our target
members. They are supposed to communicate and discuss on what they've learned with their
group mates. Consequently, the Science Group is closely interrelated to the course "A Brief
History of Science".
At this period of time, the Science Group is developing rapidly. The main activities include
learning about the history of science, sharing the latest technology and publicizing scientific
knowledge. At the beginning, most of the members were science student and engineering
student. Gradually, all the students, no matter what subject he or she majors in, show much
interest in our group. Thus, we decide to expand the range of our group, to add more activities
on humanity, and to make science easier to understand, and more comprehensive meanwhile.
The Science Group will develop mainly in two aspects. In one aspect, we will make good use of
the course "A Brief History Of Science", to present our activities and achievements. In the other
one, we will set up an expansion of our group-size to the whole campus, which is based on
spreading history of science and advanced scientific information among students.
The Science Group is composed of a chairman, several councilmen, and many members. The
members can be divided to two parts, some participate in the course "A Brief History Of Science",
and the others not participate in the course but have interest in science. At present, the members
are either undergraduate students or graduate students.
The Bertalanffy Society in Fudan University is an academic community which aims at blending

community. Our activities are mainly related to philosophy, literature, history, religion and many
other humanity disciplines.

heart to pursuit the true meaning of humanism, the members of our club are enthusiastic as they
are sapiential, and eager as they are reasonable. The Club of Humanism is always open to those
who are seeking truth and a piece of tranquility.
Law School Youth League (LSYL) is originated from the Legal Association, which belonged to the
Law Department of Fudan University in 1980s. This dynamic association is mainly made up with
undergraduates from school of law. Theory study, together with professional practice has built up
the academic soul of our league. Time withers neither its firm beliefs nor unwavering pursuit of
better. Instead, even greater vigor appears.
LSYL is highly efficient due to the well-organized internal system, consisting of a president and
three vice presidents. The league president takes charge of the overall arrangement and also acts
as the representative to the public. The other three, however, look into more specific work,
including asset allocation, public relations, campus promotion, on-the-spot charge, paper work,
regular activity, and <Institutes> the law school review.
17
<Institutes>, the monthly periodical edited by LSYL, has also gained certain influence even
outside the campus.
Certification by School of Law.

Quincuncial piles club
Our league is a sports organization. Members are trained 4 days a week, usually in evening. We
commit ourselves on Chinese traditional kongfu, not only train our body skill but our thought as
well.
The Chinese name of the very kongfu we focus on is MeiHuaZhuang. It was popular about 2
centuries ago in China. Now the method our league members train is a perfect system. It is
designed by a great master of the kongfu field Yan Zijie. Mr Yan is a university teacher in
Shandong and he has taught his students kongfu for nearly half a century. Every weekend our
members in Fudan go to different universities to communicate with other kongfu lovers, of
course we all MeiHuazhuang lovers and learners.
The main task of our members is obviously training ourselves. But it's not everything, sometimes
we also take part in some other performances, independently or cooperate with other leagues.
Fudan Electronic Sports Association (founded in 2005) is currently the only official E-Sport
organization in the Fudan University. We aim to promote the positive competition and encourage
the whole development of E-Sports on campus. We are also the banner of the similar
communities in Colleges. Usually, we provide scientific trainings for our members once a week. In
each semester, we hold events on campus such as FEG, FGL and FDG. Fortunately, these events
are popular with the students. We also gain the experience from operation. Furthermore, the
association has established a good reputation among the college students.
Kendo, meaning "Way of the Sword", is a modern Japanese martial art of sword-fighting based on
32
traditional samurai swordsmanship, or kenjutsu (sword arts). Kendo is a physically and mentally
challenging activity that combines strong martial arts values with sport-like physical elements.
In modern kendo, the kenshi (the man who practises kendo) use both Bokken (wooden sword)
and shinai (bamboo sword) in training. They also use bogu (protective equipment) to
protect themselves in Keiko (confrontational exercises) so that kendo could become a sport of
safety.
Now we have training in the gym of Fudan University twice a week. If you want to acquire the
ability to face a fierce combat, and a preliminary understanding of this eastern mystery tradition,
welcome to join us!
Our tutors are the undergraduates of senior grades or those who have already graduated from
our university. They both have practiced Parkour for a rather long time, and have become real
experts. The training will be designed according to one’s physical conditions and abilities. The
tutors know a lot about how to improve one’s strength, skill and most importantly, courage. Our
members come here to strengthen themselves mentally as well as physically.
The training time is every Friday evening, from 19:00 to 21:00. We practice in the indoor track of
our university. The training place is safe enough because the track is not so hard as the ground
outside. And of more importance, the room is equipped with essential facilities such as cushions.
However, so modern this France-originated sport is that many students are not familiar with it.
When we want to attract more people and encourage them to join in, they may think this activity
is too dangerous or too hard for them, especially the girls. Actually, everyone can make great
progress in a short time as long as he or she is brave enough to try. In order to make it less
mysterious, we do something pretentious outside in addition to the regular training every week
on Friday evening. That is really cool! As a result, more and more students are fascinated by this
eye-catching sport and are willing to join in. This year, we even receive some applications from
students from the International Department.
Though practicing Parkour may hurt oneself indeed, one could still love this game deeply. Only by
defeating one’s fear of being hurt can one get improvement and find it exciting. As long as you
get into this game, it is hard to go without it. Doing this really makes one feel different and
33
outstanding. This is exactly the same with escalading or Bungee. So, dare it or not?
