Page 1 (5 panels)
Panel 1:
Description: In the Oyo palace, Oba’s chamber, we see one of
Obas maids fixing her gele on her head and her other
servants are by her side fanning her with woven fans. Oba is
talking. It is evening time and the torches are lit in the
room.
Oba: Do not make it too tight.
Maid fixing gele: Ok ma.
Panel 2:
Description: We see a close shot of Oba and Oba is adjusting
her cloth to sit right on her body.
Oba: How do I look?
Random slave: You look grand your majesty.
Panel 3:
Description: We see Oba from her mid-section up and behind
Oba we see one of her servant girls placing a pearl necklace
around Oba’s neck.
Oba (thought bubble): I hope my husband would notice.
Panel 4:
Description: Distant shot of a hall way and we see Oba and
two servants by her sides. They are walking down the hall
with Oba.
Panel 5:
Description: Back shot of a palace door held open by two
guards. We see Oba standing stepping into the open door way.
The room that it leads into (the background is a well
decorated room, lighted up by torches and we can see parts
of a long set dinner table. (Reference can be provided to
explain this better)

Panel 1:
Description: Full scale view of the dinner room and we see
Eloisa, Timi, Oyo Mesi Bashorun and other Oyo mesi all
seated around the long rectangular table. There are 3 empty
seats.
Oba (floating speech bubble): I thought Kabeyesi would have
been here already.
Random Oyo mesi (Faint bubble): ???
Panel 2:
Description: Focused view of Gbonka stepping out of the open
palace door that is held open by two guards. Gbonka is
rubbing his neck as he walks into the room and has his head
bent a little (as though he was shy)
Gbonka: Alaafin Jakuta would not be able to join us tonight,
he has gone to attend to an urgent personal matter.
Random Oyo mesi (faint whisper bubble) (floating bubble):
Already? Didn’t the kabeyesi just recover from near death?
Random Oyo mesi (faint whisper bubble) (floating bubble):
Haa!?
Panel 3:
Description: Close up of Oba standing and looking annoyed.
Oba: Where is my husband Gbonka!?

Page 3 (Full page panel)

Description: We see a full scale view of the Edun Ara
protector standing tall on the mountain top and looking very
intimidating with its mace in its left hand. In the
foreground, at the bottom right, we see Jakuta from his mid-
section up, he is holding his axe with two hands. The skies
are filled with heavy grey clouds and lightening.
Location caption: Ara apata
RECAP: Jakuta followed Gbonkas advice to find the mysterious
power and has found himself on Ara Apata, now faced by what
appears to be the guardian of this suddenly sought power…

Panel 1:
Description: We see Jakuta standing battle ready and he is
grinding his teeth and looking fierce. The wind is blowing
Jakutas Wrapper in a direction and the skies have gathered
some more.
Jakuta: What sort of abomination is this!!?
Panel 2:
Description: Extreme close up of the edun Ara protectors
face. It is screaming very loudly, we can see the lines
coming from its scream to show the intensity.
Edun Ara protector screaming sfx: GGGAAAAAAARRRRRRRHHHH!!
Panel 3:
Description: Action shot of the edun ara swinging its mace
into the ground and breaking the ground, we see jakuta
leaping out of that spot to avoid getting hit.
Hitting ground sfx: Boooomm!!

Panel 1:
Description: Jakuta swings his axe at the edun Aras chest
and as the axe strikes the chest, we see friction flares.
Striking SFX: Shhhkkkwwiiiiiinnnn!
Panel 2:
Description: Close shot of the edun Ara, we see the spot
that jakutas axe scratched on its chest and that place is
red hot (like a hot knife cooling). The edun Ara is
screaming in rage.
Jakuta (thought bubble): It did nothing to it!?
Panel 3:
Description: The edun Ara uses its mace to hit Jakuta in the
face. Blood spills out of Jakutas mouth as he gets hit.
Jakutas hair becomes loose.
Jakuta getting hit SFX: Gbaaamm!!
Panel 4:
Description: Jakuta is lying on the floor, he looks much
wounded and the edun Ara uses its mace to hit Jakuta in his
stomach. Jakuta coughs up blood on impact.
Jakuta getting hit SFX: Booommm!!!

Panel 1:
Description: We see the edun Ara grabbing Jakuta by his head
and holding him up. Jakuta is struggling by holding the edun
Aras hand as he screams and shakes his legs.
Jakuta: AAAAARRRGGHHHH!!
Panel 2:
Description: The edun Ara flings Jakuta away.
Panel 3:
Description: We see Jakuta laying down weak and bruised on
the floor, with blood stains on his face and from his mouth.
Besides Jakuta, we see his axe on the floor.

Description: Full scale view of Jakuta standing in a weak
way, he is holding his axe with his two hands and he is
spitting blood from his mouth.
Jakuta: I am still standing.
Oluko Yemi (Caption box): You are gifted with power by the
gods

Description: Close up on Jakutas face, he is shouting at the
edun ara protector. We see Jakutas throat lighting up
faintly (about to breathe fire)
Jakuta: Come and do your worst!!!
Oluko Yemi (Caption box): These gifts need to be controlled
Panel 3:
Note: From this panel to panel 6 are flashback panels.
Panel 4:
Description: Distant shot of the scene, we see Jakuta (18
year old) doing the pull ups on a tree branch and standing
in front of him, we see his teacher (Oluko) instructing him.
Oluko Yemi (Caption box): I will teach you to control them.
Caption: Mastering others is strength, Mastering yourself is
power.
Panel 5:
Description: Oluko is giving Jakuta a clay bowl with red
liquid in it (looks like palm oil). Jakuta has his hands out
to collect the bowl.
Oluko Yemi: Drink this, it will open your pathway.
Panel 6:
Description: We see Jakuta gulping down the liquid in the
bowl and as he drinks, his throat is lighting up faintly.
Oluko Yemi: Like the lion, let your voice out from your
stomach. Charge stronger by each beat of your heart…

Description: Front view of Jakuta breathing fire out of his
mouth.

Description: We see Jakuta jump up high in the air and he is
about to strike the edun Ara, his axe is lifted high in his
hands as he is about to strike. In the foreground, we see
the edun Ara looking up at Jakuta. Jakuta is screaming in
rage.
Jakuta: AArrrrggghhh!!!

Panel 1:
Description: Jakuta strikes the edun Ara in the middle of
its head and his axe cuts deep into it.
Axe striking (SFX): slaasshhhhh!!!
Panel 2:
Description: The edun Ara is on its knees, Jakuta is using
his leg to push the edun Ara back as he pulls his axe out of
its head.
Jakuta: I’m still standing.
Removing axe (SFX): ssshhhkkiiiiinnn!!!
Panel 3:
Description: Low angle view of the sky. The dark clouds are
circling and getting very thick with faint flashes of
lightening in the clouds.

Description: Close shot, side view of Jakutas face, he is
looking at the spot that thunder just struck.

Description: worm view of a stone tablet (the stone tablet
has strange traditional patterns on it) with things written
on it (the writings are in Yoruba language but it is not
clear in this panel) and in the distant background, we see
Jakuta walking towards the tablet.

Description: Extreme close up of Jakuta picking up the stone
tablet.
Panel 2:
Description: Close shot of the tablet in Jakutas hands
(through Jakutas eyes), so we see the writings on the
tablet.
Tablet writing: A ti bukun awọn apata pupọ, ṣugbọn awọn wọnyi
li a fi si ọrun, ṣugbọn a tumọ si agbara fun ẹniti o yẹ fun ẹniti
o yẹ ati pinnu. O ti ṣẹgun oluṣọ-ara Erun ati, iwọ o yẹ lati ni
ina ọrun.
(The earth has been blessed with many rocks, but these are
placed down from heaven and meant to grant power to he who
is worthy and destined. You have defeated the guardian of
the edun Ara and so, you are worthy to wield heavens light)
Panel 3:
Description: Through Jakutas eyes, we see him putting down
the tablet slowly from his face and we see 5 rocks glowing
blue on the ground.

his right hand. His eyes are glowing with thunder and in the
background, thunder strikes.

Panel 1:
Description: Rear view of Jakuta riding his horse away from
Ara apata. It is mid night time, the moon is out and stars
are full in the sky.
Panel 2:
Description: Close up of Jakuta from his chest-up, he is
riding his horse, we can see his hair blowing in the wind as
he rides. Jakuta has his teeth grinding, he still looks
bruised from the beating earlier and his eyes have
lightening in them.
Jakuta (Thought bubble): I have never felt such power course
through me.
Panel 3:
Description: Distant shot, silhouette side view of Jakuta
Riding towards the palace gate. The guards at the gate are
standing guard. Jakuta has lightening in his eye
Guard (random): battle positions!!!
Panel 4:
Description: Back shot, we see guards standing close
together with their shields up and spears pushed forward. In
between the shield space of two guards, we see Jakuta
approaching closer on his horse with lightening in his eyes,
his features are hard to see because of the dark but his
eyes are lighting up parts of his face.
Guard (Random): By the gods…
Guard (Random): It looks like Kabeyesi, Kabeyesi ni ooo.
(It’s the king oo)
Panel 5:
Description: Full scale of Jakuta on his horse. His horse
has come to a stop and the night wind blows its mane and
jakutas hair. Jakuta still has lightening in his eyes.
Jakuta: Open the gates for your king!

Panel 1:
Description: Back shot of Jakuta riding into the open gate
leading into the palace. At the sides of the gate, we see
the guards keeping it open.
Guard (random): Did you see his eyes?
Guard (other): Of course I did, we all did. And I just want
to let this explain itself later.
Guard (random): Strange things happening in Oyo lately…ki
oluwa ba ko so (God should take control)
Panel 2:
Description: Back shot, close up of Jakuta guiding his horse
into its stable.
Panel 3:
Description: High angle of Jakuta walking up into the
Palace. He has a light weight sac he is holding in his hand.
Panel 4:
Description: Extreme close up on Jakuta, he is in his
chamber. He is carrying his hair back with one hand (a
relief gesture) as he hums a breath. The moonlight shines on
his body
Jakuta breathing SFX: Haaaa…
Oba (Floating speech bubble): where did you go?
Panel 5:
Description: We see Oba sitting up on her mat, she is tying
a wrapper. There is an open window and we can see the moon
shine brightly into the room through the window.

Description: Extreme close up on Oba bending down to pick up
something, we do not see what she is bending to pick up. In
the background, behind her, we see Jakuta popping his head
out in a funny way, he has a funny confused look on his
face.
Oba: Let me light a torch so I can see you better.
Jakuta: ???

Left side:
Description: Close shot of Jakutas hand firing lightening

Jakuta: Let me
Middle: Close up of the lightening hitting a torch
Right side: The torch lights up a fire.
Panel 3:
Description: We see Oba from her mid-section up, pointing to
the lit torch by the right in a confused way. She looks very
astonished and has a frightened look on her face.
Oba: kileleyi!! Oluwa ooo!! What did you just do? How!?
Jakuta: Calm down my love…

Description: Extreme close up on Jakutas face as he talks.
Jakuta: This is why I went out in a hurry. Do not be
frightened.

lightening from your hand!
Jakuta: Oba listen to me.

Description: Jakuta has his two hands out and in his hands,
we see the 5 edun Ara in them, they are glowing.
Jakuta: These are edun Ara. So long as I have them on me, I
can wield their heavenly power.
Oba: You have god power, I am still confused, how!?
Jakuta: I have always been different Oba, gifted…

Jakuta (monologue caption): My Father sent me away to Nupe
when I was 14 because I was a disappointment before him.

Description: Front view of Jakuta about to faint. (He is 18
here as this is a flashback)
Jakuta (Monologue caption): I was supposed to learn to be a
better Prince there but I also met a teacher to help me
learn about myself.
Panel 3:
Description: We see Jakuta getting caught from behind by
Oluko before he falls.
Oluko Yemi: Take it easy boy. You have great strength in
you.
Jakuta (monologue caption): I had a special gift, a
supernatural one. An ability I could not control without a
capable teacher.

Jakuta: I can do supernatural things Oba and the power I get
from these stones makes me even stronger.

Description: We see Oba adjusting her wrapper as she looks
confused.
Oba: How have I not known about this gift you have before
now.
Jakuta: Oba, we all have some stories that can only be told
by time…
Panel 3:
Description: Jakuta holds oba by her waist and looks into
her eyes.
Jakuta: All I do from now on, I do for the empire and for
you. With these gifts, I can protect and live out my
destiny.
Jakuta: I may have these gifts to strengthen me, but my
greatest strength comes from loving you.

room, we see his guards looking shocked by the sides of the
door.
Olowu: Call me Akogun! Immediately!!

Olowu sitting on his throne, his Leopard is sited
majestically on the throne, and he is pointing out at
Akogun. In front of him, we see Akogun laying down (dobale)
Olowu: Prepare a few men to set out for Dahomey, I have a
message for their king and his chiefs.

Description: Close shot of Olowu clapping his two hands
together under his chin as he talks.
Olowu: The hunting games are fast approaching and I have
heard from neighboring kingdoms, they all have received
invitation, how dare Agadja omit my great kingdom. Had it
not been for my grandfather, their worthless tribute should
be paid to Owu, not Oyo.
Panel 2:
Description: Extreme close shot of Olowu yelling with his
eyes popping red from rage.
Olowu: Fate they say is fair, she is nothing but unjust,
Corrupt as the hearts of men. Oyo has had everything fall to
its feet, while Owu struggles and scavenges in the end!!
Panel 3:
Description: Focused front view of the palace door held open
by the guards, we see Koro stepping into the throne room.
Koro: It appear…sss I have stepped into the pot while it
boil…sss
Panel 4:
Description: Close shot of Koro standing next to Akogun.
Akogun stares at Koro and Koro is talking to the king.
Olowu: Give me good news Koro and spare me your twisted
utterances.
Koro: Good newssss is a vague concept Kabeyesssiii. It could
be good to you and bad to ssss…someone else. News is just
news…sss, and I come with news…sss

gesticulating as he talks to Olowu.
Koro: I have made progress on the mission. Shugbon… (But…)
This Jakuta fellow has his destiny woven in the fabric of
the heavens, he is for the gods.

Description: Extreme close up of Olowu screaming at Koro.
Olowu: What do you mean Koro!!?

Description: Extreme close up of Olowus leopard roaring at
Koro.

snake as he stares seriously at Olowus Leopard.

Olowu: Koro, I gave what you asked, now you must deliver
Jakuta to me. At all costs.

Description: Koro leans on his staff in a playful way.
Koro: I never said I would not bring Jakuta to you. I will
bring him to you.

Panel 3:
Description: Olowu is rubbing his eyes with his fingers, as
though he is fed up as he talks.
Olowu: Akogun, get your men immediately as I have
instructed, the royal messenger would follow you with my
message.
Panel 4:
Description: Front view of Akogun laying down (dobale), Koro
is standing next to him.
Akogun: I will see to it Kabeyesi.
Olowu: You both may leave.
Panel 5:
Description: We see Koro and Akogun walking towards the
camera. Koro is playfully touching Akoguns shoulder spikes
and he has an amused look on his face. In the background, we
see Olowu on his throne.
Olowu: Do not fail me Koro.
Koro: Yessss yessss Kabeyessssiiii.
