WHAT’S NEW ON IBER INTRODUCTION

Iber is a two-dimensional software Iber is being enhanced day by day with the introduction of new
for the simulation of free surface calculation parameters and friendlier interfaces, in order to offer a
flow, morphodynamics, transport mayor of possibilities in the field of numerical modelling in hydraulics,
processes (water quality) and habitat hydrology and eco-hydraulics
in rivers and estuaries.
The interest of the Team Iber to improve and introduce new
calculation modules and tools, as well as the feedback with the users
of the software through the website www.iberaula.com and
www.ibercursos.com, has allowed to develop the new versions of Iber.

This document shows the last changes of the latest versions of Iber,
and also a record of the changes done in older versions.

What’s new from v2.5 to v2.5.1:

 New structure in the result files. Now the results are written
directly on the Gauss points (NOTE: older versions with mixed
meshes [triangles and quadrilaterals] must be re-calculated
before exporting results to raster)
 The Results to Raster tool has been restructured. Now the
raster files are written in a more efficient and faster way
(NOTE: older versions with mixed meshes [triangles and
quadrilaterals] must be re-calculated before exporting to
raster)

the calculation process)
 Some bugs in “Inlet num” corrected
 Internal and boundary conditions have been re-written in a
more efficient way, avoiding some instability problems
 IberHABITAT did not work because “substrate” was not was
not properly activated
 A bug in the Results to Raster tool has been fixed
 Some corrections at names of the results
 Some corrections at unexpected end of calculation process
(now the results are always written)
 Lids were corrected for no calculating when the bottom
elevation of the lid is lower than the terrain
 The DTM importation window allows now to retrieve more file
extensions (*.adf, *.tif, *.png, *.gif, *jpg…) in addition to *.asc
and *.txt ASCII files
