INTRODUCTION

Today, the world is facing a detrimental pandemic, the Coronavirus Disease. This disease
has caused changes in the educational system, especially in the TVL strand. For this reason,
hands-on activities are being disregarded because of the safety and preventive measures that
are required to be followed. Now, the disadvantages of not having hands-on activities are being
investigated to identify the possible alternatives. To determine if the investigation will help in
addressing the problem, we made criteria that will identify if the scope of the project is
determined, the quality of the project is monitored and assessed, the current analysis defines
the method, and if the team satisfaction is shown and adhered. In conclusion, the concept
paper is not feasible because one of its objectives is not achievable because of today's context.
Therefore, we suggest that the study should be improved.

OVERVIEW

Technical Vocational Courses is main variable of the concept paper entitled, “BURDEN
OF HANDS-ON SUBJECTS ON TECHNICAL VOCATIONAL COURSES IN CONTEXT OF NORMAL
EDUCATION”. The variables used in the concept paper were a parcel of procedures to obtain
data and results. According to New School Architecture Design, Hands-on learning provides a
student with the opportunity to safely make mistakes and learn organically through trial and
error. Barring severe shyness or anxiety, hands-on learning is uniquely positioned to support or
elevate any type of learner. It gives students the opportunity to self-correct any educational
missteps in the moment – with professional guidance at arm’s reach. In today’s context, these
pros can be evaluated and can be magnified as a burden or disburden to students especially in
TVL track. Based on the paper, the researchers sought to determine the disadvantages of not
having hands-on courses to Technical Vocational strands, provide suggestions to alter ways in
continuing similar experience as to having hands-on courses. These specific objectives are then
subject to the Participants, Instrument, and Data Collection procedure in their concept paper.
The participants are the students enrolled in Xavier University Senior High School under TVL
and utilizes survey questionnaire with two parts specifically, Authorization Clause and the
specific research questions of the study. A descriptive research design is utilized in the study,
thus a research survey through online is administered, in other words through the use of
Google forms. The provided link to the participants will then be the primary step towards
gathering data and ultimately determine the number of responses that Hands-on activities are
a burden to TVL students in this new normal setting.
CRITERIA

In light of the project/initiative being evaluated, the following criteria with its
corresponding details of the methods are considered:

Criteria Details
In terms of monetary demand, this proposed
research is highly affordable because nothing
large or costly has to be purchased or bought with
money to complete this analysis. There is no need
Monetary Affordability of the Study to make money for the questionnaires to be
delivered since they will be carried out and or
administered online through the use of Google
form and distributed seamlessly to the required
respondents.
The outcomes of this study are positive as it
presents previously unknown data on the impact
of a new modality of learning to Technical
Vocational courses which are based solely on
Desirability of Results competency-based and hands-on assessments.
This study is of moderate importance, as it
benefits the economic situation from having
alternative suggestions towards TVL new course
learning.
For some reason, this study can be done
practically. Since the requirements and
preliminaries are not demanding, this analysis will
be carried out in a short time, as expected. The (2)
main variables considered in this analysis are the
availability of resources if they are suggested as a
way to have a similar experience as having hands-
on courses and mechanisms for coping with the
Ease of Implementation
modality of learning with this pandemic. In
comparison to doing it manually and physically,
these two can be checked for by using electronic
questionnaires distributed to the XUSHS TVL
students as respondents by online means. On the
other hand, these same variables can be readily
interpreted into data that reacts to the objective
of the analysis.

EVALUATION

The study entitled "Burden of hands-on subjects on technical Vocational courses in the
context of Normal education" mainly focuses on Technical Vocational courses which are based
solely on hands-on and competency based assessments. This paper aims to identifying and
finding alternative suggestions on how to maintain quality education on Technical Vocational
courses despite having preventive measures because of the pandemic.

Implementation of the study is practical. The derivation of the conclusion will be done
in a short period since the requirements and preliminaries are not demanding which has
minimized the consumption of time in the analysis of the data. The main variables considered
by the researchers: the availability of resources if they are suggested as a way to have similar
experiences as having hands-on courses and the mechanism for coping with the modality of
learning with the pandemic is suggested to be addressed online. The data gathering will be
administered by the researchers through electronic means, specifically, Google forms. This
method reduces the risk of having health-related issues which will greatly benefit the
researchers and the respondents. This study is highly affordable because the researchers do not
purchase materials to execute the study since the researchers chose to utilize online means.

The overall outcomes of this paper are positive as it complimented the main objectives
of the study which is to identifying alternative suggestions on how to maintain the quality
education on Technical Vocational courses despite being affected by the pandemic. The
implementation of the study, method of data collection, and the data analysis scheme of this
study is suitable and appropriate for the study as it will draw a proper conclusion with regards
to its objectives.

CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This report determined that the overall outcome of the paper entitled “Burden of
hands-on Subjects on Technical Vocational Courses in Context of this New Normal Education” is
concluded to be good and implementable as the evaluator assesses the study. Knowing our
situation today, maintaining the quality of education is hard mainly in the part of doing physical
or hands-on activities, the study would be a huge help to think up ways in solving this problem.
Also, their method of collecting the data is practical because this can be done through the
electronic method, and in this way, they won’t violate the safety protocols set by the
government. The study also set no financial implementation as the study chooses to make use
of the online process. Moreover, their paper complemented the main objective of the study
which is focusing and identifying alternative ways or suggestions to still maintain the quality of
education for those students who need to undergo hands-on activities despite the pandemic.
Thus, the objective is good but they need to consider utilizing the study’s objective since their
study only contains two objectives. Relevancy of the ideas is important that’s why we suggest
covering and connect their objective to the main idea or main purpose of the study.

Overall, the area of the study is very relevant in our situation today and its processes
and gathering of data are quite good. Therefore, we observe that the study is implementable
and feasible based on the interpretation of the Preliminary Literature Review, objectives,
methods in gathering the data, affordability of the study, and its relevance to the current
situation.
