Dear Sir,
During the course of execution of our works, we were asked to cast the roof
of the residential blocks in curved profile (vault) which is in segments. Lot of extra
work was carried out with extra resources than required for flat roof for only 3
repetitions and as this costed us we are liable to claim it.
We are enclosing our analysis of rate for executing the same and our
analyzed rate works out to Rs 879/- per Sqm. This rate includes the cost of
material inclusive of VAT, tools / tackles, equipments, vehicles and labour only.
The rate also does not include any other taxes and shall be charged extra if
applicable to us.

Rate Analysis for Vault Roof Shuttering

Item:

Shuttering had to be provided for nearly 1035.105 Sq.m in curved profile over 19th floor of
residential blocks in 6 Pours.

Unit Taken into Consideration:

For 200 Sqm (1 Pour area)

A. Material Charges

1. 12mm marine plastic coated ply board for making beam and slab in curved profile @ 521
per sq.m inclusive of VAT and Wastage for 200 Sqm considering 3 repetitions = (200 X
521)/3 = Rs 34,733/-
2. Battens of 3” X 2” X 8’ of 50 Nos @ Rs 236.25/Cft inclusive of VAT for 2 repitations=
(0.33X 50 X 236.25)/2 = Rs 3898/2 = Rs 1949/-
3. Battens of 3” X 4” X 6’ of 30 Nos @ Rs 236.25/Cft inclusive of VAT for 2 repitations
=0.5X30X236.25/2= Rs 3544/2 = Rs 1772/-
4. Battens of 5” X 3” X 6’ of 270 Nos@ Rs 236.25/Cft inclusive of VAT for 2 repitations =

B. Labour Charges

1.Labour charges for shifting the required shuttering and staging materials sequentially to the top
floor required 4 unskilled, 1 supervisor for average 5 days = (1 X 300 + 4 X 175) X 5 = Rs 5000/-

2. Labour charges for making grooves and holes for channel placing by machineries requires 3
unskilled and 2 skilled for 2 days = (3 X 175 + 2 X 300) X 2 = (525+600)2 =Rs 2250/-

3. Labour charges for cutting and welding wherever required using cutting machine and welding
rectifier requires one skilled for 2 hours for 4 days = ( (300/8)X2) X 4 =Rs 300/-

4. Labour charges for board making and placing beam bottom requires 4 skilled carpenters and 4
unskilled carpenters for 3 days = (4X 300 + 4 X 175) X 3 =(1200+700)X3 = Rs 5700/-
5. Labour charges internal slab shuttering requires 7 skilled and 7 unskilled carpenters for 2 days =
(7 X 300 + 7 X 175) X 2) = (2100+1225) X 2 = Rs 6650/-

6. Labour charges for front and side cantilever shuttering requires 7 skilled and 7 unskilled
carpenters for 2 days = (7 X 300 + 7 X 175) X 2) = (2100+1225)X2 = Rs 6650/-

7. Labour charges for survey, profile checking and leveling by the mechanisms of U jack requires
one skilled supervisor, 2 helpers = (1 X 300 + 2 X 175)= (300+350) = Rs 650/-

Total Labour charges for 200 Sq.m area = 5000+2250 +300+5700+6650+6650+650=Rs 27200/-

C. Shifting Charges

1. Shifting of plyboards from stores to required location using tractor inclusive of diesel ,
operator @ Rs 350 / trip for 66 Nos= Rs 350
2. Shifting of battens of various inches from stores to required location using tractor inclusive
of diesel , operator @ Rs 350 / trip in 4 trip = 350X 4 = Rs 1400/-
3. Shifting of staging materials from stores to required location using tractor inclusive of
diesel , operator @ Rs 350 / trip in 2 trips= Rs 700/-
4. Shifting of channels from stores to required location using tractor inclusive of diesel ,
operator @ Rs 350 / trip in 2 trips for 3 Tons = Rs 700/-

Total Shifting charges = 350+1400+700+700= Rs 3150/-

D. Hire charges:

Hire charges for Tower Crane for shifting the materials vertically from the podium floor @ Rs
1200/- per hour for 3 hours per 5 days = Rs 18000/-

Total Material + Labour + Shifting + Hire charges for 200 Sq.m area =
86323+27200+3150+18000 = Rs 134673/-

Add 5% Water and Electricity charges = Rs 6733.65/-

Add 5% Hire charges of Tools/Tackles = Rs 6733.65/-
Add 15% Overhead charges = Rs 20200.95/-

E. Staging charges (Internal only)

Labour charges for erecting internal staging for 167.5 Sq.m area per pour @ Rs 45/- per Sq.m as
per approved rate = Rs 7537/-

Hence, Total Cost of Vault Roof Shuttering per Sq.m =

(134673+6733.65+6733.65+20200.95+7537)/200 = Rs 175878.25/200 = Rs
879/-
