I am Ashmeet Kaur. I am pursuing Masters in Quality systems engineering.

I have chosen this class as I like to interact with people, which allows me to share my thoughts and listen
to theirs which help in enhancing the knowledge as discussion with people adds up to the knowledge. As
mentioned by the professor we would come across the situations related to nature, philosophy,
psychology, and many more that would be interesting and would surely add to my knowledge and guide
me through the way to handle the situations more firmly and positively.

Education has a wide effect on being creative as now-a-days educational institutions are not just
focusing on the theoretical knowledge but the practical knowledge as well, this course is a really good
example for the same. Adding this course in my education will help me to be more creative and would
add up the potential to come up with innovative and interesting ideas.

Honestly, there are no fears about the class instead I am curious about the class and the discussions that
would be held during the lecture. My only concern is about the class being held virtually as it would be
interactive but not as much as it would have been in an in-person class. As it is a new system for
everyone so it is also a new experience to learn new things that would be really helpful.

Being in the IT field we have to come across different and new problems in daily work and creativity
doesn't limit us in a confined thinking area but it helps us to widen our thoughts that are really useful in
the situation going on nowadays.

What have you seen out there that seems like a cool way to interact in large classes (over 100 students)
online? What are the merits of such a system in how it could help us learn?

Educational institutions are switched to online interaction in this situation for the safe alternative for the
students, staff as well as the society. Online education has brought a lot more than just interaction but
also it has helped us to embrace the technology, for example, I never heard of applications like "zoom"
until now but now it has become a major part of my education. This experience is not only new for the
students but the staff as well.

I think this would also encourage distance learning and teaching experiences. This has helped
educational institutions to continue teaching students without making themselves prone to global
pandemic. One of the crucial assets of online learning is that we have all the lectures recorded and we
can always go back to the video and listen to it again and again.

After attending today's lecture I was content and happy about the way everything went so smoothly. We
had breakout sessions which helped me to interact with the people whom maybe I would have never
met in my life.

And for the interaction among over 100 students, I guess not every person can talk as it would create
chaos but I think as we will move forward and we will have groups and assigned TA's that would be a bit
easy and every person can speak and share their thoughts among each other.

2. How do you like to encourage others to think creatively?

-> 1. Yes, I am creative and my personal opinion is that every person is creative and innovative in own
ways. I think creativity does not only means that you have to do different things but it is to do things
differently and reacting to a situation positively and embracing every situation.

2. In my opinion, encouraging others through words can not make anyone creative but I think when we
start a talk and discussion with a person that encourages our mind to think. As we start talking around
one topic that evolves and we discuss various key things around the same topic so that exchange of
thoughts always adds up to one's knowledge and we search around that topic and I think thats when we
think creative. But yes we can always be supportive and encourage others to think and share their
thoughts among everyone, and if we are working in a team we should always help each other with the
resources to implement on the thoughts. That would even build up the confidence of everyone to come
up with new ideas and share them among each other.

Provide the time and resources to develop and implement those ideas that are worth acting upon.

Following through on good ideas is a powerful way of encouraging staff to keep being creative, coming
up with more new ideas to improve the business.

The word "CREATIVITY" has no boundaries. According to me, “IMAGINATION” is the key to be
creative. Any person on the earth can be creative in any way. It can start from just making a
card to gift someone, to, be an entrepreneur that is making a business out of own inventive
ideas, for example, we all are aware of the uber application. It was just an idea of two people to
find a taxi just by tapping on the phone. It was just a small idea that they thought upon and
ever since Uber is flourishing.
I think creativity can not be forced into someone but at the same time, it can come from
inspiration, for example, I never knew I can make a good drawing until I saw my best friend
drawing and then trying myself. My idea of being creative is to never stop imagining and
implementing the imagination on the right track, which would besides give way to many more
ideas that can be nurtured and developed as we move forward. We must be well aware of our
goal and should focus on achieving it by applying new ideas, considering the opportunities and
constraints. And one should never be afraid of making mistakes, in fact, we should learn from
the mistakes to not repeat them.

After winters full of snow and snowstorms there comes the summers and yes, summers in Montreal are
really awesome, and I am already missing it ☹ !! But to be inside is only way for everyone to stay safe
and healthy. Being inside takes a lot of courage as in this beautiful weather who would like to be
inside :p . But being inside has given me one of my favorite hobbies back that is reading Novels what I
used to love but could not read frequently due to work as well as studies. It has also given me time to
workout and keep myself fit by doing exercise at home itself. On the top of it I drew one of my favorite
cartoon characters “NODDY”(Image attached). Hope everyone is staying at home being safe and healthy.

Hello Kulbeer Singh,

1. According to my perception, the convergent thinking happens when you got enough ideas and thoughts to
make a final decision/action.
Once you are done with the convergent thinking, the process of divergent thinking begins. Here, the filtering
of impractical ideas and thoughts is done. 
Lets take an example, If you have to choose a goal, there comes plethora of options that best suits your
interest. Hence, It is a Convergent thinking. 
After choosing the best one, you try to make a decision among all the choices you have. This phase is
Divergent thinking. 
So, think upon how many ideas and resources you currently have. If your pool of ideas is at its best level, you
should switch towards the divergent thinking. 
2. According to me, it never happens. There is always a link between both of these. However, thinking
process is always hidden from us. We does both in our life but we have never placed any focus upon this
process. So, from now onward, we will try to focus both upon our actions and perceptions. So, stay positively
focused upon every situation/circumstances, where it requires your full attention.

Cryptocurrency is really a great topic of discussion. Infact in my previous job I have worked in
this field.

 For the first question I am not an investor for now.

 Yes, absolutely we should have knowledge about the technology infact if we invest in
this we should be updated in real time. it is secure as the transaction takes through
blocks(node to node) for eg if hacker is hacking and by any chance he hacks one node and if
by any chance he gets hold of any node after this happens then also 3 to 4 confirmation are
needed from other nodes
 High risk if govt allows instead of fiat if we use this tech it is more secure and there will
be no corruption it is fastest network as in bank to bank transfer can take some time in
some conditions


I hope you are doing well.
Here I would like to answer this question by asking you a very simple question maybe it will sound hazy to
you but maybe that would be an answer.
The dish you eat in a hotel and if you make the same dish at home does it have the same taste?? (Assume
that you use the same ingredients that are used in a hotel).
I guess the answer would be NO that the taste would not be the same. I think everyone's perception of
looking into creativity is different and creativity can not be judged by the result. Coming back to the question,
maybe if you prepare the same dish at your, home brings out even better taste with a better presentation
than you have had in the hotel then would you think the hotel Chef was not creative? Another outcome may
be the dish that you prepared was not tasty but it was still creating and that's called creativity. Maybe that
dish was tasty for another person. So, in my opinion, perception matters and it is different for everyone as
creativity is governed by multiple factors.

MIND MAP

Hello Everyone,
I think this is really an interesting topic of discussion. 
We all know about mind maps but rarely use it in our day to day life. I think Mind Mapping
"increases our creativity". Mind mapping is "unique to every student" as the mind mapping of
a unique student will present information in a way that is logical to that particular student.
I think "BRAINSTORMING IDEAS" may look chaotic, but I think that can be a way out for new
and unique ideas.
Making "ATTRACTIVE PRESENTATIONS" is a really good way of making a mind map as it is even
scientifically proven that humans tend to remember images rather than text or a paragraph and
with more accuracy.
We can follow the steps and make the mind map for anything starting from home "grocery
shopping" to "office engagements".
There are innumerable advantages and applications of Mind Mapping some of them are:-
FIRST I WOULD LIKE TO DISCUSS THE ADVANTAGES

 Mind Mapping increases creativity as mind maps are the organization of images and
words therefore it is an innovative and imaginative way of organizing thoughts.
 It gives clarity of thoughts which results in easy comprehension.
 We tend to retain more memory if the information is in the form of mind maps.
 It helps in the expeditious start of any project.
 Mind map increases productivity as follows: -
o We organize ideas.
o We create a plan.
o It gives easy visualization.
 On top of it, in my opinion, it doesn’t seem to be WORK.

APPLICATIONS

 It can be helpful in "Project Management" schedules as the manager can make a mind

map that can show the employees and the tasks allocated to an employee. This way it
would take a shorter time and the work would be clear and straightforward.
 Mind Map can be used to "Prepare a Speech" – I think instead of preparing a speech in
the form of the paragraph it can be made using a mind map by highlighting the main point
this way the topics would be vivid and easy to convey.
 "Self-analysis" is a great application of mind maps as we can make plans to achieve self-
improvement by mentioning our qualities and shortcomings.

During this lock-down we can see supermarket shelves are being emptied. 

The last video was interesting. Talking about a team the first thing that comes in my mind is “group of
people working together to the active certain goal”.
Online classes are obviously different than the in-person class and we all were in a habit of meeting for
the project discussed in the library now we can not do this. There would always be a thin line that
cannot be filled but I think we can overcome that in some ways that are discussed below: -
 As being just connected through a medium of communication makes it difficult to work together
so it is important to know each other before starting a project. According to me first and
foremost important thing that should be followed to work in a team is to “KNOW EACH OTHER”.
 “LISTENING” is a great skill that should be in every group member that is the ability to listen to
every person thought as online collaboration requires listening to the most.
 “EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION” is the pillar of working in a group because while working on a
project every student must know about every point related to the project. As we cannot meet
in-person to complete our projects, I think there should be a communication medium where
every person should post about his observation each day so that there are no gaps afterward.
 One big responsibility is “ACCOUNTABILITY” that should not be on just the group leader instead
every individual should be responsible for every step and every decision making.
I think keeping these points in mind can help in virtual groups.
CONFLICT RESOLUTION
 While working in a team it is obvious that there are conflicts that can be a difference of opinion
or any argument. “CONFLICT RESOLUTION” is an important part that must be checked regularly
and while working online we must always try to resolve the conflicts before moving ahead that
would really help in the completion of the project smoothly.
 HONESTY is really an important factor that governs within a team. We should be honest enough
to tell each other mistake and telling mistake must not be done to blame each other instead we
must discuss the problems and come to a conclusion.

For sure this question reminds me of the delicious food cooked by my mom!! Initially I used to cook but
not too much! But being quarantined has made everyone a chef as it is well evident from the empty
shelves in the shops(during initial days of Coronavirus).

For me, as I am vegetarian :p I tried a lot of things like Pav( myself made at home) Bhaji, Sambhar(which
I never would have tried), White Sauce Pasta, Momos, Spring rolls, many desserts such as different types
of cakes, custard, Gulab Jamun, Ras Malai!!

I hope everyone is staying safe!
"INNOVATION" is executing an idea that has multiple challenges at multiple levels. We can say Innovation is
the “PROGRESS IN THE FACE OF TRADITION”. Innovation does not always come by creating new things,  it
can be doing things a bit differently, and if that creates a new thing that is also innovation. Innovation is
synonymous with risk-taking as the person who tries to implement new ideas may not see the best results in
the first go but this would always give a new way to mend the ideas.
In my opinion, I feel CREATIVITY and INNOVATION are related to each other. "CREATIVITY ACTS AS AN INPUT
TO INNOVATION". I can explain it using my former definition of creativity from the forum, as Creativity
comes from IMAGINATION, and when we implement the imagination that results in innovation. I gave an
example of Uber Application that was an idea that was turned into a reality that’s real innovation just
discovering a new path through the ideas.
I would also like to mention that we should not be afraid of making mistakes as no creativity and innovation
comes without failure!!
Also, Collaboration is a key, it takes innovation and creativity to the next room.

Introspecting and comparing myself with what I used to be and what I currently am is something that I
have been doing for as long as I can remember. I have been a creative person since childhood. For me,
creativity has a vast meaning it doesn’t have boundaries or limitations. It has helped me in every step of
the way, starting from my school to building up my professional carrier.

According to Albert Einstein - “Imagination is more important than knowledge, for knowledge is limited
to all we know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be
to know and understand”. This quote has always encouraged me to open my mind and embrace my
creative instincts. From an adolescent age, I was really fond of reading and writing, I would take part in
various creative writing competitions held during my school as well as my undergraduate years. I can say
the most important quality that creativity has gifted me constantly is “CONFIDENCE”. Being a kid of the
’90s, I was always fascinated by the word “COMPUTER”. So, I was always determined to go for computer
science in my undergrad and as well as embrace it as my profession. The study of computers is not just
limited to programming, it is also pushing our creativity that builds up revolutionary ideas that help in
innovating and building solutions. As an icing on the cake my parents have always been there not only to
support me but to escort and reassure me throughout. Now comes the best part, as I completed my
undergraduate studies, I got an opportunity of a lifetime to work as a Business Analyst. Here I had the
liberty to flourish my creativity and innovation to the new level. It has also helped me in developing
divergent and holistic thinking. Discovering many possible solutions to a single problem was the main
responsibility of this position. Hence it is always compared to the Swiss Army knife.

One of the challenging phases was, when I joined the company as a Business Analyst, I was assigned a
project along with my senior. Within 15 days my senior resigned from the job and I was left all alone to
handle the project. There was very little help possible from the company personnel as they had very
little knowledge I had to innovate and think out of the box to get a hold of the project myself. After the
completion of the project I was appreciated by the CEO personally as well as the client. My job
experience has been amazing as it included creativity, leadership, and divergent thinking.

Besides my educational and professional life my hobbies of reading and drawing have helped me in
grooving my abilities in a positive direction. Reading is a great asset as nothing is better than getting
inspiration from the most renowned creative thinkers of the world. Drawing is a great way to relax and
improve my mood as art reduces stress and promotes optimistic thinking.

Talking about inventions it is whooping topic. If we compare present with the time thousands of
years ago, we have come a long way since the early times. In my opinion, inventions are not a
result of having a piece of comprehensive knowledge about the problem, but it is how far can a
person imagine and come up with a solution in different ways. Most of the things around us are
the result of the invention. Inventions play a very important role in the development of our
creative abilities. As Quoted by Justin Trudeau “Diversity is the engine of invention. It generates
creativity that enriches the world!!” Some of the important inventions that I would like to
mention here are: -
 THE FIRE AND CONTROLLING IT - These were the most important inventions by humans.
As it made life easier because humans had to no more tear the food instead, they could
cook the food that was easy to eat.
  TELEPHONES – I can never think of being without telephone considering the present
world. Big thanks to Alexander Graham Bell for this wonderful invention. We can
communicate with each other and everyone just sitting at home. The advancement of
telephones to mobile phones and mobile phones to further smartphones has changed
the world. Being an international student, it is the only way to connect me with my
family.
 INTERNET – Can any person imagine the world without the INTERNET? I think this image
gives me goosebumps as in this situation of COVID-19 this is the only way to connect
with people. And until there would be a way to control this pandemic this
communication will become a new normal. Even I feel this platform gives us a way to be
more creative and expand our imagination.
 COMPUTERS – The word around which the whole world revolves. Being an engineer it is the
most vital part and is becoming the most creative partner of my life. Computer is the word that
is expanding ever since it has been invented and this expansion is the result of vast imagination
by various brains.
 AEROPLANE – I think of the person’s imagination who invented Aeroplanes that must be to just
fly like a bird it really sounds amazing in my head. If I think of my family overseas the only
possible transport which can lead me to them is and aeroplane. Just wish to own one :p :p . This
means of transport has reduced the travelling time so much.

As I saw the first part of the video ADVERTISEMENT about JUICERO I was really fascinated by it and thought
would definitely buy it for me as it makes least use of human efforts starting from buying the fruits, washing,
peeling and then assembling a mixer. And as we progressed and I got to know real price for the juicer that
was $700 that pretty much difficult to digest. Then came the worst part as the

The worst part about JUICERO was squeezing the same packet with hands made no difference. I think it is
human tendency to get fascinated by fancy adds rather than knowing the real investment behind the
product. A manufacturing company always knows about real investment, so I think the company was to
malignant about the product.

DESIGN THINKING

In my opinion Design Thinking is a unique approach to untangle any problem which is:-

 Human Centered – This means we need to understand the problems faced by human by putting
ourselves in their shoes.
 Cross-functional – Meaning we should discuss the problem with various people as they will have
different perspectives and experience which helps us with various creative and unique solutions.
 Creative – As we discuss the problem with various people we come up with wide perspective where
divergent thinking plays a big role which in return gives us various creative solutions
 Practical – As design thinking gives us various solutions, we can always experiment the ideas which
will help us in converging the number of ideas and which can help us to get to the solution.

Using Design Thinking problem can be solved in various ways by investigating which includes doubtful
elements of problem to broadcast the unknown parameter and to discover the alternative strategies.

There are five necessary modes that are included in design thinking process.

 Empathize – To deeply understand the customer/human needs.

 Define – This helps in understanding the requirements of final product and it can also give us
understanding the problem.
 Ideate – Coming up with different ideas using divergent thinking techniques and converge them to
obtain a solution.
 Prototyping – Create a mock-up that would help in deep understanding of the customers.

After watching the video, one aspect that galvanized me in IDEO there are not experts in any specific
area instead, they are the experts on the process, and they emphasized the process of designing the
product. This clearly explains that if you want to be in a specific field, it does not mean that you have to
have full-fledged prior knowledge about it instead one should be good and divergent thinking and should
not limit the thoughts just in some constraints, for example in IDEO there was also a team member
named Alex Kazakhs who was just 26 years old and was not at all in this field as he was a student of
biology. What they all did as a team was amazing they distributed the area among themselves and came
up with real-time experience from people about the cart by asking them various questions. As no one
was an expert so, everyone came up with the ideas, and then the best elements were taken out of each
person's prototype that made a perfect shopping cart.

After observing the captivating views shared by Mihály Csíkszentmihályi, to me, creativity flow
differs from person to person as everyone mental agility can change from minute to minute.
The people who are more focused on some distinct task tend to experience more creative flow
because when we are thoroughly absorbed in a task that is when we are in a flow of doing a
task and would help one the most to achieve a certain goal.
In my opinion, various advantages of being in a creative flow are: -
 The objectives become clearer as we go step by step.
 The person is more aware and focused that would be a plus point to solve the
disruptions more easily.
 Increases the concentration power.
 Develops stability between self-control and impulse.
If a person needs to maintain creative flow, he must maintain an idealistic feeling to
concentrate on the goal. A person must be a divergent thinker and keep his mind open towards
challenges as well as failures as there would be many obstacles in the way to creativity. This
way of handling situations helps the person to maintain creative flow and that's what makes a
person innovative.

 It was fascinating to get knowledge about the schedule of distinguished personalities.

The people I can resemble my schedule to would be Thomas Man and Charles Dickens
as they had more or less similar activities (not considering the time they devote to each
activity) as the first thing I get up and do is take a shower and have coffee similar to
Thomas Mann. Following my schedule by looking into the course lectures and
assignments. During these days which has blessed me with spending time with my
family and having lunch with them. Subsequently which is followed by pursuing my
hobbies such as reading a novel or drawing or singing. After that, I go for a walk and
then spending time with my family and friends as of Charles Dickens.
 
 The schedule that I found unique was of Benjamin Franklin as he devotes his starting of
the day to plan what all he has to do after that start working and devoting his time to
reading at the end of the day asking to himself what all he did as that has many
advantages including : - 
 
a) As questioning helps in rational thinking which would help in achieving our goal
b) That would help in finding the mistakes that we are doing

I feel this is an important part that is to evaluate and introspect that can help in setting our
ambitions in the right direction.

 After studying the concept of Creative flow, I think it is a process in which a person is
captivated with full commitment and focus towards our goal. I think this is the right
direction in which a person should be directed. In addition to it, I think we must never
be afraid of making mistakes or getting criticized as critique play crucial role in our
creative development and we can learn a lot from critique by focusing on weakness and
enhancing the ideas. Comparing myself from week 1, I can find this course has helped
me in improving in many aspects that such as thinking out of the box (divergent
thinking) and then converging the thought at a distant point that is when we are nearby
our goal. Besides this class has gifted me in thinking more toward the wider and positive
side of a problem by asking the various question of W’s (What, Why, Who, When,
Where) and H(How) rather than just focusing on how to solve the problem. This can
help in improving our creative and innovative abilities.

Being an Asian this word “JUGAAD” is very common for us as we USE as well as APPLY in our day to day life. It is
basically “A Quick solution to big or small problem in an innovative way” and “Improvising Solutions”. According
to me in Jugaad innovation “Convergent thinking” plays a big role as we have some constraints such as time,
money or resources and we have to focus on the specific constraints and design a product or get a solution to a
problem. When an emergency occurs, numerous people develop innovative yet simplistic methods or ideas to
find an easy way out of the situation. Jugaad is the combination of knowledge and innovation utilizing the
resources without waiting for additional resources.

Three main approaches that lead to innovation are

Frugality
It is something that is invented from the available resources, money or time and is affordable for the common
people.

Flexible
Flexibility is improvisation of the technologies that can fit, transform to help in getting to a solution. As many
people would love the gadget that is easy and quick to learn as compared to a product that has complex
functions.

Economical
This is to keep in sight and target the people who cant buy the expensive commodities.

This means we should always learn to transform adversity to an opportunity become more innovative

“Entrepreneurship” is a striking topic for discussion. I would love to be an Entrepreneur. I don’t

have any prior experience in this field, but this is the field in which I would be in control of my
destiny. Being one can help me to change the lives of many people.
Entrepreneurship is a blend of “PASSION”, “RISK SEEKING”, “HARDWORKING”.
According to me if we dare to pursue a goal then we can achieve any goal irrespective of
complications or hurdles that we can face through the different phases while pursuing it, and if
we embrace the hurdles and constraints that is when we inspire the creativity within us.
As Professor Steve Blank stated for a young entrepreneur it is important to listen properly and
nowadays it is very easy to find people with whom you can talk. And yes, Understanding the
customer’s "requirement" and "problems" are the most important thing to discover the
customer.
“PATTERN REORGANIZATION” with time is important to start acquiring the qualities of an
entrepreneur as be it takes experience to become a successful entrepreneur and experience
comes with time. There are various qualities that an entrepreneur must have: -

There is a collaborative speciality such as Artificial Intelligence, Fintech, Social Innovation etc.
so a person can always discover their abilities.
I think YES there must be a proper entrepreneurship that must be given in Concordia as well as
other Universities as an academic program for the students who wants to be an entrepreneur. As
that can help the student to prepare the young generation to start building their carrier towards
entrepreneurship. As it can improve in thinking out of the box and a graduate can create own job
instead of seeking for one. I think if there will be a proper academic program that will help in
acknowledging certain situations that are required to build the ambiance and condition to
innovate.
There are variety of advantages if they integrate entrepreneurship in the academic programs such
as: -
 They would be aware of wide range of possibilities from the beginning.
 They will have depth of expertise and would have a clear picture of there chosen

In school we teach values of cooperation, of caring with each other.  Societies need these caring values
but more and more the popular culture promote the value of competition, individual greed, success as
material success.  These are the values of business, values necessary for success in the business
world.  Teaching those in early age would undermine further the values of care and further undermine
the foundation of all societies.  I am of the opinion that the young children should be protected from
these greed values in order to first promote the caring values and when these are strong enough that
the greed values of capitalist success taugh after the first have formed solid enough roots with will
provide some restraints into the capitalistic instincts which without restaints are socially destructive.

It is really interesting how we are moving forward in this course as first, we had to start thinking
about entrepreneurship then using our innovation and interest we have to finalize our idea then
we have to come up with the business model which includes various steps and now we have to
think about how to finance our business idea.
I would like to discuss the business plan about the “Smart bin” which is an automated garbage
segregation bin. As we have many technologies to degrade the waste but if we talk about the
waste that is produced from commercial buildings and houses etc and there is no proper way to
deal with it. The smart bin recognizes the material and shape of the waste then it segregates it
and then compresses it so that the volume decreases. Now-a-day there are a few houses whole
segregate the waste into different bins mostly the households have just one bin in which they
accumulate all the waste. So the smart bin will be really helpful in segregation of the waste.
I think this project must be used worldwide as it has ample of advantages: -
 This will give way to a cleaner environment.
 This is an eco-friendly system.
 Less cost of installation.
 It helps in reducing environmental pollution.

After going through the Blue city Technology website, I feel this is an amazing initiative. I was
aware of this technology but was not aware of the way the company used it that was amazing as
it is being used for traffic safety and for improving the efficiency of the road networks by using
the Lidar technology that is the short form for Light detecting and ranging. 
The thing that was most fascinating to me was the lasers that they use are the same as we use in
our day to day lives such as in the barcode reader, home security systems, etc. The photon is
emitted from the sensor and after hitting it bounces back to the sensor which helps us in
measuring distance and time. The biggest advantage I feel is that it can work in all the types of
environments including days and nights. As the laser beams emit millions of light photons per
second at 360 degrees which can see all the surroundings and can calcite the data in real-time
and make a 3D map of the surroundings. 
Advantage of the Lidar technology over the camera sensor
 Cameras can have a problem of vision during the night on the other hand Lidar can work
in all the types of environment including days and nights.
 They can capture on the 2D image that is the flat image, but the Lidar captures a full 3D
image of the environment. 
 Lidar can capture the data up to 300 meters distance in the surroundings which can help
in the car by covering the blind spots too but the camera and the sensors it can not cover
the blind spots 
 The camera does not measure the distance, but the Lidar technology accurately measures
the distance which is very helpful in the traffic for everyone.
According to me, I think Angel Investors would be suited for Blue City Technology because they
are experienced in the business. Angel investors like to work in group and this kind of business
can always flourish in a group of people. Angle investors would be great as they can provide a
good amount of capital for the company to expand worldwide.

changing nature of the world around us. There are various news that we come across every day
and they have their importance such as: -

It is important as that would let us know about the activities that may affect the community. This
would help in decision-making in the local community.
National News
This helps in gaining a sense of a national perspective. This is useful as the countries in which there
is a variety of populations in different parts. As many cities rely on each other for trade that is

 BAD NEWS TRENDS AND EVOKES STRONGER

The bad news tends to dominate the headlines and people tend to give more importance to the
negative or bad news than looking towards the positive information it is providing. This is also called
negativity bias.

 MEDIA EXAGGERATES THE NEGATIVE NEWS AND DO NOT TRY TO FOCUS ON THE
RIGHT CONTENT

The way news is covered that matters a lot and nowadays it has become a race that will give the
news first and who will give more content rather than putting out the right content. I think rather than
the quantity it is quality that matters in the case of news as people get affected by the news that is
being portrayed negatively.

ISSUES THAT ARE NOT BEING COVERED SUFFICIENTLY 

 The news these days are biased and the whole story is never being covered there are
certain people behind the news channel who tend to control it and this is what keeps the news
bounded on one side of the whole story.
 There must be proper weather forecast and we all are aware of the fact that there is a
change in the climatic conditions worldwide so the weather forecast must be followed with the
reasons that are forcing the climate to change hastily.
 The species-level of issues that we are failing to understand must be covered properly and
also the complex issues that we have to understand fundamentally and these issues cannot be
understood in real-time.

THINGS THAT I DO TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF THE

CONSUMPTION OF NEWS 
 Most important:-  I feel nowadays we are converging towards the use of YouTube so this
comes with its pros and cons many people make the fake news to get views and earn money so,
we must not trust every channel on the YouTube as recently I read an article that coated “More
than a quarter of the most-viewed coronavirus videos on YouTube contain "misleading or
inaccurate information". This is an important issue so people must be made aware of this
fact and must be able to distinguish by analyzing the situation before making a decision.

 I never stick to one news channel I always look around 2-3 news channels and trust me I
always get to learn at least 2-3 new points from each news channel and then that makes it
difficult to know which news is a fact and which one is exaggerated one.
 I always try to read various websites about the same news for instance about the COVID-19
there were are many things that we can find on news and the websites so we must always rely
on the one who gives us the practical proof.
 We must always listen to both sides of the story and analyze both of them.
 We must always try to discuss the news with people who always help in digging in the news
and having more knowledge about the news.

Yeah, we must hear both sides of the story and must analyse and then believe rather than just
listening a piece of news from a random news channel and I specially feel that we nowadays many
people who make their YouTube channels and spread fake news just to get the views and earn
money that may affect the public. Public must be made aware about these channels and must not
believe whatever they hear from them. As the statistics of fake news on YouTube has gone up in
past few months in many parts of the world.

Yes, moreover we must never trust single source of news and must analyze the story before
believing it.

The news was created to converge on the issues and concerns that were true and were important to
society and the world. Nowadays we can get news through many platforms such as Televisions,
newspapers, the internet, YouTube, and many more. These all are powerful media to get news but
the main concerns that have now come in the picture are the truthfulness of the news covered. 
After watching the website, I found it really interesting that ground news is taking the initiative to
uncover the truth behind various news platforms. As we know, in the past we had very few
sources of newspapers and TV channels to get news and it was easy to analyze and distinguish
between the news. But now as the platforms have increased it has become utmost challenging to
know which news covers all the facts and which one is biased. 
After using Ground news I feel it is easy to COMPARE and DISCOVER how the story is being
covered across the political spectrum and if we sign up for Ground news pro which is economical to
buy that would help in analyzing the news and drawing the conclusion about the news story. As we
click on an article and as we scroll from left to right we can see how different sources are covering
the same news and we can also dig deep by using various features like coverage analysis which
help in discovering the side by side comparison which tells us about the coverage of the news
whether it is balanced or biased. 
The feature of knowing how a piece of news is adapted to fit the geopolitical agenda by
correlating with the news platforms around the globe. 
The location coverage analysis button gives us the analysis of the news by knowing the difference
between the news based on where it was published.
The feature that I found most fascinating was that can tell the place and the time that when was
the news published and that would help in analyzing the truth. Because as we know the news varies
over time and many times, we can see some platforms exaggerate news just for views and monetary

And one thing that I found confusing was how to use the left and right feature. And as we open the

In my opinion, a person doesn’t have to be an artist to be creative.

The only thing that keeps us from thinking that we are not creative and retains us back is “HOLDING
BACK OUR IMAGINATION AT FIRST”. We have learned a lot from this course such as Divergent
and convergent thinking plays a big role in our creative abilities as at first, we need to think and
come up with all the possible ways and then converge it by putting on some constraints according to
the situation or the problem.

We all would agree to it that as the technology is progressing people in the world where we are
losing interest in creative practices like dancing, music, drawing, and are more tilted towards the
technology. A kid nowadays wants to watch a video on YouTube instead of playing outdoors. I think
in schools there must be a proper atmosphere where learners must be given time to think and
develop their creative abilities besides studies. Even parents play a significant role in the
development of creative abilities as by encouraging their kids in artistic activities it helps in the brain
development of a child.

In my opinion, entrepreneurship is an art as it starts with vision and vision come with creativity.

Making money out of art is not mandatory for everyone as for some people art can be a stress
buster and not the source of income and for some, it is the only source of income such as writers
who put all of their efforts in writing a book and publish them to sell.

As I like drawing, I would love to discuss it. I always took drawing as my hobby and I don’t think
about something and then draw it but when I start drawing that is the moment when I think. I love to
do it when I am having the ideal time or when I am a little stressed about something as it helps to
calm me down and most of the time I find a solution to my problem when I am drawing as that helps
me to introspect and understand the situation well.

I think my hobby has helped me in my career as the job I used to do back in India I had various
roles and one of them was I had to design various applications and websites in my job, therefore I
think being creative doesn’t mean that we have to be self-employed or be an entrepreneur but it is
how we bring our creative abilities and use them in our lives.

Talking about the class the thing that I have started using in my life is a mind map as it helps me to
increase my productivity by helping me to be more organized and giving me an easy visualization of
a circumstance.

"Introspecting" and "Comparing" myself with what I used to be and what I currently am is something that I
have been doing for as long as I can remember. For me, creativity has a vast meaning as it has helped me in
every step of my life, starting from my school to building up my professional carrier.
According to Albert Einstein - “Imagination is more important than knowledge, for knowledge is limited to all
we know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know
and understand”. This quote has always encouraged me to open my mind and embrace my creative
instincts.  From an adolescent age, I was fond of reading and writing, I would take part in various creative
writing competitions held during my school as well as my undergraduate years. Hence, most important
quality that creativity has gifted me constantly is “CONFIDENCE”. Being a kid of the ’90s, I was always
fascinated by the word “COMPUTER”. So, I was always determined to go for computer science in my
undergrad and as well as embrace it as my profession. The study of computers is not just limited to
programming, it is also "pushing our creativity that builds up revolutionary ideas that help in innovating
and building solutions". As an icing on the cake my parents have always been there not only to support me
but to escort and reassure me throughout. Now comes the best part, as I completed my undergraduate
studies, I got an opportunity of a lifetime to work as a "Business Analyst". Here I had the liberty to flourish
my creativity and innovation to the new level. It has also helped me in developing divergent and holistic
thinking. Discovering many possible solutions to a single problem was the main responsibility of this position.
One of the "Challenging Phases" was, when I joined the company as a Business Analyst, I was assigned a
project along with my senior. Within 15 days my senior resigned from the job and I was left all alone to
handle the project. There was very little help possible from the company personnel as they had very little
exposure about the project. I had to think out of the box to get a hold of the project myself. After the
completion of the project I was appreciated by the CEO personally as well as the client. My job experience
has been amazing as it included creativity, leadership, and divergent thinking.
Besides my educational and professional life my hobbies of "Reading and "Drawing" have helped me
in grooving my abilities in a positive direction. Reading is a great asset as nothing is better than getting
inspiration from the most renowned creative thinkers of the world. Drawing is a great way to relax and
improve my mood as art reduces stress and promotes optimistic thinking.
I am hopeful that this positive attitude towards creativity will help me to expand my thoughts and help in
achieving future goals in my life.
FINAL REFLECTION
I just loved how this course evolved over the time. I feel everyone is creative in one or another way
so and I felt this course would help me in to dig deeper into my creative abilities.

Considering creativity, I feel every individual has their own definition and own way to express it.
When I started the course, I was excited about it at the same time I was having a fear of virtual class
and was questioning myself will I be able to convey my thoughts over zoom in so many students. As
I was a little bit conscious this course helped me in boosting up my self-confidence.

Talking about creativity back then it was a bit limited to extra-circular activities and job. But now as
we progressed, I got an extensive knowledge about the same as we during this course I came
across the fact that creativity can be the part of each aspect of our life its just the way we want to
explore it.

Initially I used to think implementation of something new is Innovation but as we progressed in the
subject it was made clear that innovation is a process for solving the problems which excludes
challenges and obstacles at the end.

In my opinion continuous working on creative abilities helps one in increasing the power of
critical thinking as through this process different parts of the brain jump into action as try to think all
the possible ways to understand the problem. I definitely agree as this course evolved my way of
handling a situation or problem is changing day by day as initially is used to focus only on the
problem and tried to solve it directly but now I try to First, understanding the situation and then
secondly I think about the possible ways to solve it and then finally I act on the situation or the
problem.

In my opinion, these things will not only play role in my career, but they are helping me in day to day
life. An engineer is surrounded by complexities and challenges and creativity, innovation and
creative thinking play an important role in overcoming these complexities. Being an engineer we
have to analyze at every step so, moving forward concepts such as brainstorming, critical thinking,
design thinking will help in countless ways such as first analysing the data, then evaluating the
information then exploring all the possible solutions rather than straight away looking for a solution.
Being creative has and will always help me in better understanding the situation consider the
uncertainties and dealing with them as well personally as well as professionally. For me critical
thinking has given me ways to improve my self by SELF-REFLECTING and analyzing own thoughts
while progressing towards making a certain decision which helps in making informed decisions with
satisfactory outcomes.

For me, critical thinking has given me ways to improve myself in "personal life" by SELF-

constraints. And creativity has encouraged me to be a risk-taker which has evermore helped me in
learning. Now thinking back about my Job then I was always afraid of going wrong but during this
course, I realized that being wrong helps in learning.

On a broad way down creativity opens up ways for various opportunities one of which is
entrepreneurship. Before this course was started, I was timid of giving entrepreneurship a shot but
as of now, I have faith and ability in me that I can be an entrepreneur as creativity and innovation
adds up to be an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurship is rooted in the creation of new insights and
exploring them by having an edge over the competition. Being an entrepreneur is coming up with
new notions that are versatile and interesting by digging into the traditional way of exploring and
coming up with new ideas.
The most important thing that I learned in this class was “Continuous learning” as during this class I
came across the technologies and topics that I was unaware of. This can only be made possible by
reading and learning regularly. Starting from the definition of creativity to entrepreneurship it has
always been a fun class with ample knowledge.

What is one single key takeaway you have learned from everything we have done in this
class?
I feel most important key take away in my perception was "CONTINUOUS LEARNING". During this
class I started watching TED talks more often that really helps me in growing. We went through
numerous topics strating from the definition of creativity, Mindmaping, brainstorming, creative flow,
entereprenurship and many many more. I also learnt about various technologies that I was unaware
of initially. Professor Charles was full of energy all through and was excited to fill us up with new
knowledge always that enthusiasm made this class more interesting.

What do you feel we could have spent more time covering in this class?
I guess time and the topic covered in class justify each other. I feel how to deal with real life
problems should have been given more time. Like how to solve the problem in real life and
professional life.

What question about creativity, innovation, and critical thinking is still on your mind?
There was a question during the stating of the course that was: Should creativity always give us
some output? I my opinion it is not necessary that creativy must always give a useful output as the
usefulnesss of the output vary from person to person.
