METHOD STATEMENT

HYPERFLOW 1201 PG
(Thick Application )
High Early Strength, Dual Expansion, precision grout

EQUIPMENTS & MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS

The following equipment shall be used : FOR MIXING
 Low speed hand drill 400-600 rpm.
 Grout mixing paddle
 Mixing bucket to hold 1 full bag of grout.
 Graded 10mm aggregates
 Measuring cylinder.
 Thermometer to check temperature.
 Wire brushes, Chisel, Grinder, Vacuum Cleaner.

INSPECTION & PREPARATION

 Inspect concrete surfaces which are to receive grout and verify that they are free of dirt, grease,
oil, curing compounds, paints impregnations and all loose material or foreign matter as they
likely to affect the bond or performance of the grout.
 Confirm newly placed concrete has been cured sufficiently to attain its design strength and limit
further shrinkage.
 The surface should be roughened by chipping, grinding or other mechanical means (before
placing the Base Plate) to assure bond of the existing concrete.
 All metal surface (base plates), which are to be in direct contact with the grout, should be
thoroughly cleaned to bare metal before grouting.
 Levelling and alignment of base plates should be performed as per project specifications.

MIXING PROCEDURE
 Pre-wet all equipment just before starting work and keep shaded.
 Add HyperFlow 1201 slowly to the pre-measured water.
 Add the whole bag (part bags are not allowed)
 Add Dry Graded 10mm aggregates. (Ratio of 1:1 or 1:0.5 by weight depending on
consistency required.)
 Mix until lump free for 3-5 minutes.
 Do not add more than maximum water content.
 Samples should be taken immediately after mixing. Using 4x4 Cylinder.
 Each test should record batch no., name of product, weather conditions, temperature of grout,
etc.

PREPARATION and APPLICATION
 Use Form work to withstand the placement of grout & shall be watertight.
 Grout will be poured from one side continuously with a continuous head using a suitable pourer
e.g. watering can.
 All grouting shall take place from one side of a base plate to the other to avoid trapping of air.
 Re-tempering of grout by adding more water after stiffening is not permitted.
 Grout must be placed in a continuous monolithic manner to avoid cold joints and to completely
fill the grout space and produce intimate contact with the grouted item.
 Vibration (around the grouted area) should be avoided once grouted.

NOTE
 For thickness above 100mm, Hyperflow 1201 can be mix with hard, clean, surface
saturate dry (SSD), graded 10mm aggregates in the ratio of 1:1 or 1:0.5 by weight
depending on consistency required.
 10kg of ( SSD ) 10mm aggregates can be use for every 1 bag of Hyperflow 1201.
 Hyperflow 1201 with aggregates can be applied one time up to 300mm thickness.

CURING
 The grout shall be cured after initial setting ( Exposed surfaces)
 The method of curing can be as follows water curing by spending wet hessian cloth/ gunny bags
over the surface or mist spray or use of suitable curing compound,
 Protect the grout from direct sunlight and from extreme weather conditions.
 Remove the formwork once the grout has completely hardened (24 Hours)

STORAGE
 Store grout in original bags in the shade.
 Keep dry.
 Use grout only from original, unopened bags clearly labelled with the manufacturers
identification & printed instructions.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT
 Gloves, Mask, Eye Protection, Helmets, Protective Boots.

HEALTH & SAFETY

HyperFlow 1201 is alkaline in nature, wear face masks, water protective clothing, goggles and gloves. In
case of contact with skin, wash with water. In case of contact with eyes, flush with water immediately
and consult a physician.
