1.0 SCOPE

GENERAL

This specification covers the minimum requirements for furnishing all labour, material
and services in connection with the design, fabrication, factory testing, documentation,
tagging and shipping of Pressure Gauges, required for the Project “Ingeniería de
Detalles Tratamiento de Agua Coposa Norte”, property of Compañía Minera Doña Inés
de Collahuasi SCM, Chile.

The Bidder shall furnish all instruments listed on Doc. N° I08-028-000J-DS023, “Data
sheets” and shall be include any accessories required to ensure accurate, safe,
continuous and reliable operation

Design, function and satisfactory performance of the entire system and all its
components and accessories are the Bidder’s responsibility.

All materials of construction for all components and accessories, including spares, shall
be new, suitable for the service and duty and shall meet the requirements of codes and
regulations as specified under Paragraph 2.0 of this specification.

1.1 WORK INCLUDED

The Bidder shall provide qualified personnel, as may be required, to check out, calibrate
and start-up the equipment furnished.

The Bidder shall include technical information in detail and quantity as specified in the
FORM ENG-44, “Drawing and Data Requirements”.

With the offer shall be included, dimension drawings, parts list and descriptive and
operation manuals.
The selected Bidder shall provide maintenance manual with, at least, the following
information:

- Functional description of the instrument.


- Calibration procedures.
- Operation and installation manual.
- Spare parts list.

The Bidder shall furnish a recommended spare part list for two years operation and a
recommended spare part list for start-up, both itemized and individually priced.

Bidder shall provide a metallic plate for identification of each instrument according to
Tag and Identification of each instrument.

1.2 WORK EXCLUDED

The following items are specifically excluded from this specification and will be furnished
by Purchaser:

- Field installation, field recalibrate and start-up.


- Mounting and support structures.

1.3 EXCEPTIONS TO THE SPECIFICATION

Exceptions to the provisions of the specification and Data Sheets shall be allowed only
by written permission of the Purchaser.

2.0 STANDARDS AND CODES

The pressure gauges and all the accessories shall conform to the applicable
requirements of the latest edition of the following:

ASTM The American Society of Testing and Materials.


ANSI American National Standards Institute.
ASME American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
FM Factory Mutual.
IEC International Electrotechnical Commission.
ISA International Society of Automation.
NEMA National Electrical Manufacturers Association.
NEC National Electrical Code.
OSHA Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
UL Underwriters Laboratories.

In case of discrepancies between this specification and the applicable codes or


standards, the applicable code or standard shall supersede and the Purchaser will be
informed in writing by the Vendor of such discrepancies.

In case of discrepancies between this specification and the attached data sheets, the
data sheets shall supersede.

3.0 OPERATING AND DESIGN CONDITIONS

Each device furnished under this specification shall be suitable for continuous 24 hours
per day, 7 days per week, 52 weeks per year, operation in a dusty or wet atmosphere
containing grit and micron sized particles and shall perform satisfactorily under

environmental and operating conditions specified in the attached Instrument Data


Sheets.

The pressure gauges shall be designed for continuous operation at the elevation and
ambient temperature range detailed in Section 4 of the Material Requisition Doc. N° I08-
028-000J-MR023.

Each instrument shall be Bidder’s standard, heavy duty, field proven designed with a
record of successful operation in industrial environments as required for the application
specified.

The pressure gauges enclosures shall be waterproof and dust proof and shall comply
with NEMA 4, NEMA 4X or better according to data sheets.

4.0 TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Pressure gauges for process service shall have stainless steel Bourdon tubes rotary
gear stainless steel movements with silicone treated wear surfaces, micrometer
pointers, forged steel sockets with wrench flats and blow out protection at the rear of the
case.

Pressure gauges for process service shall be 115 mm (4½") diameter and have male ½"
NPT connections for applications with out seal.

Pressure gauge shall have a solid front, a rear full-area blow out and shatterproof
window with weather-tight seal.

Diaphragm seals, when specified on the data sheets, shall be filled and assembled to
the gauge at the Vendor's plant; a locking clip shall be installed to prevent easy removal
of the gauge from the seal.

Diaphragm seals shall be furnished with a threaded and plugged clean out connection.
Seal type and process connection will be in accordance with instrument data sheet.

Gauge scale plates shall be stainless steel or laminated plastic, white face with
permanent black markings. Manufacturer's standard dial faces shall be marked to
indicate the bourdon tube material. Dials or pointers shall be field adjustable for zero
alignment.

All gauges shall be graduated in dual scale kPa and psi.

Gauge ranges shall be specified so that normal operating pressure is between 40% and
70% of the scale. Gauge accuracy shall be 0.5% of full scale or better over the entire
scale.

Pressure gauges installed in locations exposed to vibration shall have a dampener.

5.0 ASSEMBLY, INSPECTION AND TESTING

The manufacturer shall shop-assemble all instruments and components, provide its own
quality control inspection, and shall perform all testing required to demonstrate that the
instrument is in full compliance with the specifications and is completely operable.
The manufacturer shall perform calibration of all instruments according to the ranges or
data indicated in the attached data sheets. Calibration certificate shall deliver with each
instrument.

The Purchaser reserves the right to expedite and inspect all materials during fabrication
and before shipment. Unless otherwise noted in the purchaser order, the Bidder shall
notify the Purchaser at least 30 days before shipment of the instrument so that
arrangements can be made for final inspection and testing.

If, in the opinion of the Purchaser, inspection and testing of the instrument does not
indicate good workmanship, Bidder shall make such changes as necessary to rectify
this condition. The Purchaser will witness such further tests as it deems necessary to
ensure that the instrument complies full fill the specification. All costs of such additional
test shall be for the account of the Bidder.

It is the intent the instrument shall be shipped to the site completely assembled. If this is
not feasible, Bidder shall so state in his proposal and shall describe the extent of
assembly proposed; in such cases, all parts shall be match-marked to facilitate field
assembly.
