In case there are discrepancies between this specification and the applicable codes or standards,
the applicable code or standard shall supersede and the Purchaser is informed in writing by the
Vendor of such discrepancies.

In case there are discrepancies between this specification and the attached data sheets, the data
sheets shall supersede.

3.0 Operating Conditions

Each device furnished under this specification shall be suitable for continuous operation, 24 hours
per day, 7 days per week, 52 weeks per year, in a dusty atmosphere containing grit and micron
sized particles in dry plant or with acid mist in wet plant and shall perform satisfactorily under
environmental and operating conditions specified in the attached instrument data sheets.

All electrical and electronic field instruments shall have clamp type terminal blocks or screw
terminals.

4.0 Technical Requirements

Source intensity calculation must be done by the Vendor, based on mounting details, including
class of material and slurry composition. Automatic source decay compensation shall be included
as part of the electronics.

The radioactive source shall be Cesium 137 and shall be double encapsulated in lead. Suitable
shielding shall be provided in conformance with standard practices.

The nuclear source instruments shall be provided with a hand-operated shutter mechanism for the
radiation source. The shutter shall include provisions for locking in the closed position by means of
a key and key-lock mechanism or padlock.

The Vendor shall certify that the surface radiation intensity of the gauge assembly, including
source, detector and adjacent process equipment shall not exceed 5 mR / h around 30 cm.

The power supply shall be 120 VAC, 60 Hz. Where higher source values are required, the Vendor
shall advise accordingly.

Lifting lugs to be provided with sources.

The Vendor shall obtain for Antamina all written authorizations, licensing certificates, transportation
certificates and possession, use, transportation, installation of radiation devices as required by the
Instituto Peruano de Energía Nuclear (IPEN).

4.1 Nuclear Density Transmitter

The transmitters shall be digital type, Vendor’s standard, heavy duty design, using HART protocol
as required for the application specified on the data sheets. The output signal shall be an isolated
4-20 mA signal, which shall have a variable load handling capability of at least 500 Ohms unless
otherwise specified on the data sheets.

Accuracy and repeatability of the nuclear density instruments shall be < 0.5% of measured span
under all specified environmental and process conditions, unless otherwise indicated on the data
sheets.

Calibration instructions and data necessary for standardization and recalibration of the radiation
density instruments shall be provided by the Vendor, including equivalent absorbers to be mounted
on the source side of the equipment and be used as references for calibration. For maintenance
purpose the density instruments shall be provided with equivalent absorbers for 100%, 75%, 50%
and 25% within the specified range. Vendor shall provide factory calibration curves.

The calibrated range display units and all transmitter’s parameters shall be easily changed without
removal of the transmitter by means of a hand held calibrator with HART protocol. The Vendor
shall provide a calibrator with the device.

Output signals required of the nuclear density transmitters shall be in terms of specific gravity,
density units and % solids.

The transmitter’s circuitry shall have saturation immunity when the measured variable is out of the
instrument calibration range.

The radiation density shall be suitable for operation in a dusty and wet atmosphere containing grit
and micron-size dust particles. Enclosures shall be waterproof and dustproof and shall comply with
NEMA 4 or NEMA 4X, as specified in the data sheets.

4.2 Nuclear Switches

The detectors shall have a signal amplification circuit that shall be an integral part of the detector
electronics.

Switches contacts shall be hermetically sealed type, Two (2) SPDT or One (1) DPDT. The contacts
