In case there are discrepancies between this specification and the applicable codes or standards,
the applicable code or standard shall supersede and the Purchaser is informed in writing by
Outotec of such discrepancies.

In the event of discrepancies between this specification and the attached data sheets, the
strongest code or standard shall be applied.

3.0 Operating Conditions

Each device furnished under this specification shall be suitable for continuous operation, 24 hours
per day, 7 days per week, 52 weeks per year, in a dusty atmosphere containing grit and micron
sized particles in dry plant, with acid mist or wet plant and shall perform satisfactorily under
environmental and operating conditions specified in the attached instrument data sheets.

Available plant electrical power supply will be 120 Volts AC, 60 Hz. Power supplies shall be both
input and output fused and solid state components to be used through out. Outotec shall state in
his proposal power requirements.

All electrical and electronic field devices shall have clamp type terminal blocks or screw terminals.

The devices and accessories enclosures shall be waterproof and dust proof and shall comply with
NEMA 4. Outotec shall specify NEMA 4X in corrosive environment areas.

4.0 Technical Requirements

The Particle Size Analyser shall provide continuous measurement of slurry stream. These values
will be transmitted through communication protocol or analog signals.

For particle size measurement, the Particle Size Analyzer shall be calibrated in units of cumulative
percent passing (or retained). Outotec shall include all software and hardware for remote control
and calibration.

Outotec shall specify required flow rate, pressure, temperature and quality of the water and air
supply and other requirements in the data sheets.

Outotec shall state maximum ranges allowable which provide satisfactory operation for Outotec
process.

Outotec shall provide remote communications for interfacing with the Process Control System
(PCS) and shall identify which ports are to be used for which services. Outotec shall also provide
the addresses for the information transmitted and detailed specifications for all required wiring and
cabling.

The Particle Size Analyzer shall give specified results for specific gravities of dry solids as stated in
data sheets. Variations in specific gravity shall not adversely affect measurement accuracy.

The Particle Size Analyzer electronics shall utilize a 120 Vac, 60 Hz single phase power supply,
supply line voltage variations of ± 10 % may be encountered. This power shall be connected
directly to the Particle Size Analyzer motors and electronics. Outotec shall state the voltage
variation that his equipment can tolerate.

Outotec shall submit a block diagram showing all signal wiring and system cabling required for the
complete Particle Size Analyzer system, including connections between internal boxes, the power
supply connection, the system communication loop to the Analyzer Electronic Unit and the
connection to the Process Control System.

The Particle Size Analyzer control panel shall include indicators for particle size, ON-OFF
switch/pilot light, provisions for calibration and functional testing, calibration adjustments and
interconnecting cables. Self-calibration shall be incorporated in the electronic.

5.0 Special Documentation

Complete detailed instrument, control device and software documents shall be supplied with the
proposal. Outotec shall state to what extent the proposal does not comply with these requirements.

Outotec shall supply with his quotation a Piping and Instrument Diagram (P & ID) for the mechanical
equipment offered, showing all instruments, devices and control system.

Technical Documentation for maintenance purposes is a requirement. Outotec shall state to what
extent he deviates from these requirements.

6.0 Assembly, Inspection and Testing

The manufacturer shall shop-assemble all instruments and components, provide its own quality
control inspection, and shall perform all testing required to demonstrate that the instrument is in
full compliance with the specifications and is completely operable.

The manufacturer shall perform calibration and/or configuration of all instruments according to
the ranges or data indicated in the attached data sheets. Calibration and/or configuration
certificate shall deliver with each instrument.

The Purchaser reserves the right to expedite and inspect all materials during fabrication and
before shipment. Unless otherwise noted in the purchaser order, the Outotec shall notify the
Purchaser at least 30 days before shipment of the instrument so that arrangements can be
made for final inspection and testing.
