SPECIFICATION FOR 460
VOLT MOTOR CONTROL
0 2008-03-11 CW GS DG
CENTRE FOR 2 API
SEPARATOR

1
Specification for 460 Volt Motor Control Centre

1. SCOPE
This specification covers the design, manufacture, materials, delivery and
testing of a 460 Volt indoor, Motor Control Centre (MCC), for use in the ISOM
Complex Substation for the 2 API Separator Unit.

The MCC shall be placed in the ISOM Complex Substation – a switch house,
which is situated in an unclassified location in an oil refinery near the sea-coast
at an elevation of less than 1,000 metres.

Underground Electrical cable shall connect the MCC to a feeder breaker of an

existing 460V three phase switchgear assembly sited within the same
substation. The maximum run from the switchgear to the MCC is not expected
to exceed 30 metres.

Rated voltage for equipment shall be 1,000 volts. Operating voltage shall be
460 Volts.

The equipment shall comply with the drawings, this specification and its
datasheets, and the latest revision of the NEC, NEMA and ANSI/IEEE Codes and
Standards.

2. SERVICE CONDITIONS
The equipment will be installed in an air-conditioned room. However, the
motor control centre shall be designed for an ambient temperature range of
0°C to 40°C at a maximum altitude of 1000 metres and a seismic zone rating of
three (3).

3. CODES, STANDARDS AND DRAWINGS

The equipment shall be designed, manufactured and tested in accordance the
datasheets and specifications attached, and with the latest applicable NEMA,
NEC and ANSI/IEEE Standards specified.

The following datasheet, drawing and specifications shall be attached for

reference: -

4. PACKING AND SHIPPING

4.1 Shipping shall be CIF, Point-a-Pierre, Trinidad and Tobago.
4.2 Vendor shall be solely responsible for preparation for shipment.
Preparation shall be in accordance with vendor’s standards.
4.3 Additional shipping and handling requirements that appear in the
individual equipment specifications shall be strictly adhered to.
4.4 Each line up shipping section shall be equipped with lifting facilities so
that it may be easily unloaded and handled by either crane or forklift.
Shipping section shall not exceed 3 metres in length. The equipment
shall be packed, crated, and rigidly braced to protect it from the
weather and from damage during shipment, handling and outdoors
storage.

5. SUBMITTAL DATA
The seller shall submit six (6) copies of the following data used in evaluating
proposal: -
5.1 Performance curves (where applicable), short circuit certification,
seller’s prints, including dimensions and other data required to provide
a complete description of the equipment proposed. Seller shall furnish
heat gain for each size breaker and temperature rise for each vertical
section. Schematic wiring diagrams shall also be provided
5.2 Complete lists of all equipment and accessories proposed. Components
not manufactured by the seller submitting the proposal shall be so
noted as well as manufacturer and type proposed.
5.3 The proposal shall include a complete list of unit prices consisting of
the cost to add or delete any circuit breaker or complete unit.
5.4 Complete list of minimum recommended spares with prices required for
normal routine maintenance.
5.5 List of weights for switchgear, circuit breakers and accessories.
5.6 Seller shall state in the proposal all exceptions to these specifications.
