1.0 ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

First of all, we would like to express our gratitude to everyone who have
helped us and guided us throughout the preparation of this role play assessment.
Especially to our respected lecturer, Michelle Lǎoshī, for teaching and guiding us to
learn Mandarin as our third language. Thank you for giving us this opportunity to
work as a team to accomplish this role play assessment. This role play assessment
would not be completed without the involvement and enthusiasm of our group
members, Nur Irdina, Nur’ Ain, Eva and Joann. Through this role play assessment, we
learned how to initiate a conversation in Mandarin and at the same time we can
improve our fluency in speaking Mandarin. We would also want to say thank you to
all of our supportive classmates from class TMC1011A7 for being a helping hand for

3.0 ROLEPLAY CHARACTER INTRODUCTION

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION

4.0 SUMMARY OF THE SCRIPT
Dee, Eva, Ain and Joann are classmates. at UITM Campus Kota Kinabalu. The final
examination is coming soon but they are not sure about the exact date. At the same day , Eva
went to ask the lecturer and she reminded to do revision . So the girls decided to study
together the next day at the library. At the library Dee ask them if they know how to answer a
question but they were also not sure how to answer the question. Ain suggested Dee to ask
the lecturer but she doesn’t have the lecture’s number so Eva gave it to her. The girls decided
to meet up again tomorrow and they made a plan to go to the shopping mall this weekend to
buy stationery and celebrate Ain’s birthday. At the shopping mall Joann and Dee went to the
book store while Ain and Eva went to the cinema to buy tickets. After that they decided to
meet up at second floor and went to Upperstar to celebrate Ain birthday. After a hectic week
of examination, they went to the park. They talk about each other’s hobbies and make up a
plan to go travel together to Terengganu during the semester break. This script tells about the
activities and preparation of four students before and after the examination.

I am sorry Dee, I don't know when is our examination date . How about you,

I want to go with you. I want to buy pens and papers.

EVA (10) Nǐmen xiān qù shūdiàn, wǒ hé Ain qù diànyǐngyuàn mǎi diànyǐng piào.
You both go to the book store first, me and Ain will go to the cinema to buy
tickets.

AIN (10) Shì de. Wǒmen xiǎng kàn Gōngfū Xióngmāo 3. Eva jiāng wèi wǒmen mǎi

Yes. We will watch Kungfu Panda 3. Eva wants to buy us the movie tickets.
