Please bring a hard copy of your Admit Card to the examination center along with the original valid School/College Identity
card or any other original valid identity proof having a clear photograph of yours. Produce the same to the invigilator on
request. Students without the Admit Card and a valid Identity card will NOT be permitted to appear for the aptitude test. Please
note that expenses towards travel, boarding and lodging will NOT be reimbursed by KVPY for attending the Aptitude Test.
1. You are advised to reach to the examination center well in advance of the reporting time.

2. You are NOT permitted to carry calculators or any electronic devices. Virtual calculators will be available on the computer
screen.

3. Carrying/use of any electronic items such as watch, mobile phone, electronic tablets, portable hard disc, pen drive, data card,
pagers etc. inside the examination hall is strictly prohibited. There are no provisions for their safe custody at the test centers.

4. Candidates are not allowed to leave test center before 11.00 a.m. (i.e.. 90 minutes after the start of the aptitude test).

5. Instructions given here must be treated as final.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR APTITUDE TEST

1. The question paper consists of two parts (both contain only multiple choice questions) for a total of 100 marks. There
are 60 questions of 1 mark each and 20 questions of 2 marks each. All questions are compulsory.

2. The composition of the question paper is given in the table below

3. There is negative marking for wrong answer. Unanswered questions will not be evaluated and will not be penalized
as a wrong answer.

4. In Part I, each correct answer gets 1 mark and for each incorrect answer 0.25 mark will be deducted. In Part II, each
correct answer gets 2 marks and for each incorrect answer 0.5 mark will be deducted.

5. The aptitude test will be a computer-based test. Candidates are advised to go through the mock test which is
available on the KVPY website.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR CANDIDATES ON COVID-19
1. Candidates must maintain social distancing starting from the point of entry in the exam venue till his/her exit from the exam venue.

2. Candidates must bring their own mask, gloves, personal hand sanitizer (50ml), water in transparent bottle, a simple pen and the
exam related documents (Admit Card, ID Card etc.). No other items will be permitted inside exam venue.

3. Candidates must bring the signed declaration (hard copy) provided below and show the same to the Security Guard at the entry point
in the exam venue.

4. Candidates showing COVID symptoms WILL NOT be allowed to enter the exam venue.

5. Temperature of the candidate will be checked at the entry to the exam venue via a Thermo Gun. Only those candidates will be
allowed inside the exam venue whose temperature is within the acceptability limits as approved by competent authorities.

6. Mapping of ‘Candidate Roll Number and the Lab Number’ will NOT be displayed outside the exam venue, but the same will be
provided to the candidates individually at the time of entry to the exam venue.

7. Verify your exam center and address well in advance, preferably on the previous day or earlier to avoid reaching wrong center.

8. Candidates need to follow directions given by representatives & need to stand in the circles drawn at the entry points.

9. Accompanying persons are not allowed at the exam centre.
