IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS :

1. Admission to the test venue will be on production of this admit card only.
2. No request for change in test centre will be allowed under any circumstances.
3. At the test center, you must occupy the seat allotted against your roll number only. At the test
center you are expected to maintain discipline. Thus interchanging seats, creating disturbance,
exchanging notes, consulting/ talking to each other, seeking/ receiving any help from external
means etc. will result in cancellation of your candidature for the post.

4. The admission to the test centre will be allowed only 60 minutes before the scheduled exam start
time. You will not be allowed to enter the test venue once the test is started. You will not be
allowed to leave the examination hall till the test is over.
5. Mobile phone, pager, smart watch, electronic calculator, test booklet, notes, scales, logarithm
table and any other electronic devices & gadgets etc. shall not be permitted during the test. You
have to make your own arrangement to keep these items out of the premises of the test venues.
6. Ensure that Invigilator’s signature & your signature are put on the Admit card and the attendance
sheet respectively, failing which the candidate will be treated as absent.
7. You are required to handover the Provisional Admit card to the invigilator on completion of the test
8. The On-line Aptitude Test shall consist of 120 multiple choice objective questions of two hours. For
each question, four alternative answers have been provided out of which only one answer is
correct. Each question carries one mark. No mark will be allotted for un-attempted questions.
There is negative marking in the test i.e. 0.25 mark shall be deducted for each wrong answer.
9. Please quote your Roll number as a reference for any future communication.
10. If at a later stage, it is found that candidates belonging to General / OBC-NCL category have not
paid the registration fee in the notified SBI account then their candidature shall liable to be
rejected.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

1. You are going to take a computer based online Test at a workstation.


2. You are allowed to carry only pen/pencil inside test centre.
3. You are required to produce your admit card and original photo Identity Card, which bears your
photograph and date of birth (i.e. Aadhar card, PAN Card, Passport, Voters ID card, Driving
License) at the Registration Desk to prove your identity, failing which you will not be allowed to
take the online test.
4. At the registration desk, your identity will be verified, admit card will be scanned, photograph and
Finger Prints will be captured and assigned to a computer.
5. For rough work, a sheet of paper will be provided at the workstation. You need to manage the
working within that. No additional material will be given for rough work purposes.
6. Your candidature may be rejected you from the test session for any of the following reasons:
a. Creating disturbance
b. Attempting to take the test on behalf of someone else.
c. Talking to other test taker/s.
d. Attempting to tamper with the computer system – either hardware or software.
e. If found with calculators, slide rules, pagers, cell phones, concealed microphones, wireless
devices, smart watches or any other material that may aid in answering questions.

INFORMATION ON THE TEST

1. This is 1st Stage Online Aptitude Test (120 multiple questions) covering General English,
Quantitative Aptitude & Reasoning. The minimum qualifying marks will be 40% marks in case of
General category and 30% in case of SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates.
2. The questions will appear in English & Hindi. In each of these sections, every question is followed
by 4 answer options. Choose the option that is most appropriate. Indicate your answer by clicking
on the circle adjacent to the option you think is right.
3. You can go to any question directly by clicking on the question number, which will appear at the
bottom of the screen in blue color. The answered question number will be marked Green and the
unanswered / skipped question number will remain in blue.
4. If you are doubtful of the answer for a question, you can mark a question for review without
answering and such questions will be indicated with an arrow mark under the question number.
This question number will appear in red color. To unmark this you have to click on “unmark
review” button.
5. If you have answered a question and would like to review the answer at a later stage you can do
so and such question numbers will be indicated in yellow color with an arrow. To unmark this you

have to click on “unmark review” button


6. If you want to change your answer to any question, you may select the question and change the
answer by clicking on the appropriate answer.
7. If you want to unanswer any previously answered question, you may select that question and
double click on the answered option.
8. There will be negative marking. For each wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducted.
9. No mark will be deducted for un-attempted and un-answered question.
10. Timer display at the top of the screen indicates the time throughout the test.
11. The test closes automatically once the allotted time of 120 minutes are over.
12. In case you finish your test before allotted time, you may review the answers in the remaining
time.
13. You are not allowed to move out of the examination hall till the completion of the allotted time.
14. Ensure that you click on submit as a sign of completion. Please be sure before clicking ‘submit’
that you have completed the test. Once you submit you will not be able to go back to the test.
15. Once you complete the on-line test, you should be able to see the screen indicating completion of
test with a thank you note. Raise your hand and handover the used paper sheet to the Invigilator.

Important Instructions regarding COVID 19 :

NTPC will implement Social Distancing measures as per State/ Central Govt. Guidelines in present
situation of COVID 19 pandemic to ensure health & safety of the candidates. Adequate measures are
implemented for safety of all without compromising the high standards, sanctity and fairness in conduct
of the examination. The following additional instructions to be followed

1. Candidates are required to adhere to guidelines and social distancing norms and hygiene to ensure
safety & health of their own and fellow candidates.
2. You are requested to come with face mask & Sanitizer (Mandatory) and face shield, gloves etc.
(Optional) to the test centre.
3. You need to follow discipline, social distancing norms during entry/exit of test centre and at the
time of test.
4. As thermal scanning will be carried out, you are requested to report to the test centre one hour in
advance of the test time.
