 The Blessing of Rain
3 ‫ וַעשִִׂ יתֶם אֹתָ ם‬,‫מצְּוֹתַ י תְְִּׁ מְּרּו‬ ִ -‫תל ֵּכּו; וְּאֶת‬ ֵּ ,‫בחֺקֹתַ י‬ ְּ -‫ ג אִם‬If ye walk
in My statutes, and keep My commandments, and do them; ‫ד וְּנ ָתַ תִי‬
4 ‫ וְּעֵּץ הַשָ דֶ ה יִתֵּן פִרְּ יֹו‬,‫תנ ָה הָָארֶ ץ י ְּבּולָּה‬ ְּ ָ ‫בעִתָ ם; וְּנ‬
ְּ ,‫ גְְִּׁ מֵּיכֶם‬then I
will give your rains in their season, and the land shall yield her produce,
and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.

ֶ ‫הפְּרֵּ יתִי‬
ִ ְּ ‫ ו‬--‫אל ֵּיכֶם‬
‫פנ ִיתִי ש‬
ָ ‫ט ּו‬
9 ‫תכֶם‬ ְּ ‫א‬
ִ ,‫ בְּרִ יתִי‬And I will have respect unto you, and make you
fruitful, and multiply you; and will establish My covenant with you.

11 ‫תכֶם‬ ְּ ‫א‬
ֶ ,‫תגְּעַל נַפְְִּׁ י‬
ִ -‫ בְּתֹוכְּכֶם; ו ְֹּלא‬,‫כנ ִי‬
ָ ְְִּׁ‫ יא וְּנ ָתַ תִי מ‬And I will
set My tabernacle among you, and My soul shall not abhor you.
‫ל ִי‬-‫תהְּיּו‬
ִ ,‫אתֶם‬ ַ ְּ ‫ ל ֵּאֹלהִים; ו‬,‫ וְּהָי ִיתִי לָכֶם‬,‫ככֶם‬ְּ ‫ בְּתֹו‬,‫כתִי‬ ְּ ַ‫הל‬

12 ‫ לְּעָם‬And I will walk among you, and will be your Elohim, and ye

 Uncircumcised Heart… humbled
ַ ְּ ‫עֲ וֹ ן אֲ ֹ ָֹת‬-‫עֲ וָֹנָ ו ְאֶ ת‬-‫מ ו ְִהתְ וַּדּו אֶ ת‬
‫ְמעֲ ָָ אֲ ֶֶׁ ר‬
40 .‫הָ ְָכּו ִע ִמי ְְּקֶ ִרי‬-‫ ִֹי ו ְַאף אֲ ֶֶׁ ר‬-‫מָ עֲ ָּו‬
And they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers,
in their treachery which they committed against Me, and also that
they have walked contrary unto Me.
‫אתי א ֹתָ ְְּאֶ ֶרץ‬ ִ ֵֹ ‫אֲ ָנִי ֵא ְֵָך ִעמָ ְְּקֶ ִרי ו ְֵה‬-‫מא ַאף‬
-‫ָאז י ִ ָכָנַע ְָ ָֹ ָֹ הֶ עָ ֵרָ ו ְָאז י ִ ְרצּו אֶ ת‬-‫אֹי ְ ֵֹיהֶ ; אֹו‬
41 . ָ‫עֲ וָֹנ‬
also will walk contrary unto them, and bring them into the land of
their enemies; if then perchance their uncircumcised heart be hum-
bled, and they then be paid the punishment of their iniquity;
‫יתי יִצְחָ ק‬
ִ ‫ְּ ְִר‬-‫יתי יַעֲ קֹוֹ; ו ְַאף אֶ ת‬
ִ ‫ְּ ְִר‬-‫מֹ ו ְ ָז ַכ ְר ִתי אֶ ת‬
42 .‫ָארץ אֶ זְכ ֹר‬ ֶ ָ‫ו ְה‬--‫יתי ַאֹ ְָרהָ אֶ זְכ ֹר‬ ִ ‫ְּ ְִר‬-‫ו ְַאף אֶ ת‬
then will I remember My covenant with Jacob, and also My covenant
with Isaac, and also My covenant with Abraham will I remember and
I will remember the land.

19 .ָ‫ ְָּ מֹועִ י‬-‫ֶֶׁ קֶ ר ָנָחֲ ָּו אֲ ֹֹותֵ יָנּו הֶ ֶָֹ ו ְאֵ י ן‬-‫ָארץ ו ְי ֹאמְ רּו אַ ְך‬ ֶ
O, YHWH, my strength, and my stronghold, and my refuge, in the
day of affliction, unto Thee shall the nations come from the ends
of the earth, and shall say: 'Our fathers have inherited nought
but lies, vanity and things wherein there is no profit
 The man who trusts

In YHWH In man

‫כֹה ָאמַר י ְּהו ָה ה‬, ‫החֶבֶר אשְֶׁ ר יִבְּטַ ח בָָאדָ ם‬ ַ ‫ָארּור‬, ‫ו ְִָּׂ ם בִָָׂ ר‬, ‫;ז ְּרֹעֹו‬
‫ּומִן‬-‫י ְּהו ָה‬, ‫י ָסּור ל ִבֹו‬. 5 Thus saith YHWH, Cursed is the man that
trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth
from YHWH. ‫בעשרָ בָה ו‬ ָ ‫כעַרְּ עָר‬ ְּ ‫וְּהָי ָה‬, ‫ו ְֹּלא י ִרְּ אֶה כִי‬-‫ו ְְָּׁ כַן ;י ָבֹוא טֹוב‬
‫בםִדְּ בָר‬ַ ‫חשרֵּ רִ ים‬, ‫מלֵּחָה ו ְֹּלא תְֵֵּּׁ ב‬ ְּ ‫ }ס{ אֶרֶ ץ‬6 For he shall be like a
tamarisk in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall
inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, a salt land and not inhabit-
ed. {S} ‫החֶבֶר ז‬ ַ ‫בָרּוג‬, ‫וְּהָי ָה י ְּהו ָה ;אשְֶׁ ר יִבְּטַ ח בַיהו ָה‬, ‫מבְּטַ חֹו‬ ִ .7
Blessed is the man that trusteth in YHWH, and whose trust YHWH is.
‫כעֵּץ ְָׁ תּול עַל ח‬ ְּ ‫וְּהָי ָה‬-‫מַי ִם‬, ‫וְּעַל‬-‫יּובַל י ְְַּׁ לַח ְָׁ ָרְָׁ יו‬, ‫)י ִרְּ אֶה(ו ְֹּלא ירא‬
‫כִי‬-‫י ָבֹא חֹם‬, ‫ענ ָן‬ ‫על ֵּהּו רַ ש‬ָ ‫ּובְְִּׁ נ ַת בֶַֹרֶ ת ֹלא י ִדְּ ָאג ;וְּהָי ָה‬, ְׁ‫ו ְֹּלא יָמִי‬
‫מעשִֹׂות פֶרִ י‬ ֵּ . 8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that
spreadeth out its roots by the river, and shall not see when heat
cometh, but its foliage shall be luxuriant; and shall not be anxious in the
year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
 The man who trusts
