1. My motivation to join the team comes from my undergraduate experience. Having
completed my under graduation at IIT Bhubaneswar, I have been a part of some cultural clubs and fest management teams. From that, I have got a feel of team work but however I always wanted to work on a technical project along with a team so that we get to learn interdisciplinary things or I believe overall technical growth is better when we work on something technical as a group which I never got a chance to. Seeing the work and success of Team of Avishkar, I believe definitely everyone would love to be a part of it. Coming to this particular subsystem, As M.Tech student of Power systems and power electronics where I am currently learning all about electric vehicles and power converters in a much deeper way in classroom, I believe the practical experience or the knowledge which I will be getting if I am a part of this would develop my designing skills or it will help me grow as an engineer I would say. I believe working on a technical project will make us see a bigger perspective like advantages or disadvantages of whatever we do on the whole system. Rather than a bunch of courses being learnt, working on something which requires knowledge of all the courses would help in understanding and designing the entire system.
2. During my under graduation, I have worked on simulation of Spacevector PWM based
DSTATCOM in MATLAB/SIMULINK as my B.Tech Project. First, I have developed a simple Space Vector PWM based inverter (2 level) model. Then I have designed a controller which calculates the required current references to be tracked by the inverter such that functionality of DSTATCOM is satisfied. Using the controller and Inverter I have generated the required currents to compensate the reactive and unbalance components of the load currents by the DSTATCOM. The entire project was a simulation. Other than this, During my Internship at POSOCO, I have written some MATLAB algorithms for State estimation of an n bus power system. Other than this I have done some simulations of Renewable energy systems(Solar working along with battery and DC DC converters, DC AC converters) as part of coursework in MATLAB/SIMULINK. To sum up I would say, I am decently aware of MATLAB, Simulink.
