The following test is for question 1 to 4.

Once upon a time two brothers who lived on adjoining farms fell into conflict. They had been sharing
machinery, trading a labour and goods as needed without a hitch. Then the long collaboration fell apart. It
began with a small misunderstanding and it grew into a major difference which exploded into an exchange of
bitter word followed by week of silence.

One morning there was a knock on the elder brother’s door. He opened it to find a man with a carpenter’s tool
box. “i am looking for a few small jobs here and there. Could i help you?”

“Yes1″ said the elder brother. ” i do have a job for you. Look across the creek at that farm! That’s my
neighbour in fact, it’s my younger brother and we don’t get along. Last week he dug a wider passage for water
into his farm. But he ended up creating a very wide creek in between our farms and i am sure he did it just to
annoy me. I want you to build me something so that we don’t have stand and see each other’s face from
across.”

The carpenter said, “i think i understand the situation. I will be able to do a job that will please you.” The elder
brother had to go to town for supplies, so he helped the carpenter get the materials ready and then he was off
for the day. The carpenter worked hard all that day measuring, sawing, nailing.

At sunset when the elder brother returned, the carpenter had just finished his job. The elder brother’s eyes
opened wide and his jay dropped. It was not what he had even thought of or imagined. It was a bridge
stretching from one side of the creek to the other! A fine piece of work, beautiful handrails. To his surprise, his
younger brother across the creek was coming to meet him with a big smile and arms wide open to hug him.

“You are really kind and humble, my brother! After all i have done and said to you, you still show that blood
relations can never be broken! I am truly sorry for my behaviour,” the younger brother said as he hugged his
elder brother”

Nuclear power is the controlled use of nuclear energy. Nuclear energy is energy in uranium that can be
released by nuclear reaction in a machine is called a nuclear reactor. This energy is made into electricity, which
can be used to power machine and heat home. 14% of the world’s electricity came from nuclear power. But,
the use of nuclear power cause some hazard. There are three separate sources of hazard in the process of
supplying energy by nuclear power. First, the radioactive material must travel from its place of manufacture at
the power station. Although the power stations themselves are solidly built, the containers used for the
transport of the materials are not. There the normally only two methods of transport available, namely road or
rail. Unfortunately, both of these involve close contact with the general public, since the routes are sure to
pass near, or even thought, heavily populated areas. Next, there is the problem of waste. All nuclear power
station produced wastes that in most cases will remain radioactive for thousands of years. It is impossible to
make these wastes non- radioactive, and so they must be stored in one of the inconvenient ways that scientist
have invited. For example they may be buried under ground, or dropped into abandoned mines, or sunk in the
sea. However, these methods do not solve the problem, since an earthquake could easily crack the containers
open. Finally, there is the problem of accidental exposure due to a leak or an explosion at the power station.
As with the other two hazards, this is not every likely, so it does not provide a serious objection to the nuclear
program. Nevertheless, it can happen. Separately, these there types of risks are not a great cause for concern.

Since the first production of “Private Lives” in 1930, with the theatre’s two leading sophisticates Noel Coward
and Gertrude Lawrence in the leads, the play as tended to be chosen as a vehicle for starts.

QUT Academy of the Arts’ production boasted no ‘stars’, but certainly fielded potential stars in a sparkling
performance that brought out just how fine a piece of craftsmanship Coward’s play is. More than 60 years
later, what new could be deduced from so familiar a theme? Director Rod Wissler’s highly perceptive approach
went beyond the glittery surface of Witty banter to the darker implications beneath.

With the shifting of attitudes to social values, it became clear that Victor and Sibly were potentially the more
admirable of the couples, with standards better adjusted than the volatile and self-indulgent Elyot and
Amanda.

The wit was there, dexterously ping-ponged to and fro by a vibrant Amanda (Catherine Jones) and a suave
Elyot (Daniel Kealy). Julie Eckersley’s Sibly was a delightful creation, and Phillip Cameron-Smith’s more serious
playing was just right for Victor. Jodie Levesconte was a superb French maid, James Maclean’s set captured the
thirties atmosphere with many subtle touches. All involved deserve the highest praise.
