1. Define the Principle of Double Effect in Bioethics. (minimum of 30 words)

>The Principle of Double Effect in Bioethics aims to provide specific guidelines for
determining when it is morally permissible to perform an actionin persuit of a good end in full
knowledge that the action will also bring about a bad results. Foe example, abortion when the
life of a mother is in danger, in case when saving the life of a pregnant woman causes the death
of a pregnant woman – example , performing an abortion when continueing the
pregnancywould risk killing the mother, some of the people argue that this is the case of the
doctrine of double effect.

2. How can you apply the Principle of double Effect in Mercy Killing. (mimum of 50 words)
> We can apply Principle of Double Effect in Mercy Killing when double effect can produce an
unexpected moral result; if you do think that a quicker death is better than slower one then the
doctrine of double effect shows that a doctor who intended to kill the patient is morally superior
to a doctor who merely intende to relieve pain. For exaple, double effect contrasts those who
would (allegedly permissibly) provide medication to terminally ill patients in order to alleviate
suffering with the side efffect of hastening death with those who would (allegedly
impermissibly) provide medication to terminally ill patients in order to hasten death in order to
alleviate suffering. In allegedly impermissible case, the physician's ultimate endis a good one –
to alleviate suffering – not to cause death.

3. Make a comparative analysis between the Principle of Legitimate Cooperation and Principle of
Common Good and Subsidiarity using atleast 3 indicators? Give atleast one scenario each in the
hospital where you are going to apply this principles.
>Priciple of Legitimate Cooperation is people should never do anything that is not morally
permissible, according to the catholic. The Principle of Legitimate Cooperation when it is
applied is whenever an act we are considering would assist someone else in committing a
morally evil act. When it says formal cooperation – when you share the other person's evil
intent could involve approving or taking part in it. For the principle of Common Good and
Subsidiarity, respect for others; fundamental rights, social welfare; access to basic good such as
cloth, food, medical, work and education, peace and security; public authority should ensure the
security of the society and its individual member, the totality of social conditions allowing a
persons to achieve their communal and inedividual fulfillment.
For the Principle of Legitimate Cooperation, example is that a catholic nurse whose only chance
of employment as a nurse in a secular hospital, where among other responsibilities, she is assign
to care for sa woman after thay have had 98 Linacre Quarterly page 4 abortion. For the
Principle of Common Good and Subsidiarity, this principle is applied in the hospital setting in
order to categorize actions or results that have some importance that is definable and spreads
than personal gain.
4. Define the Principle of Stewardship and Role of Nurse as Stewards, give examples. (minimum
of 100 words)
- The |Principle of Stewardship is a concept that offers the nurse leaders critical insight into
how the can assist nurses to shift their epistmology of practice, integrating a form of practical
reasoing that is virtue base and hence extend their practice of bearing witness. The leadership
potential of stewardship in nursing requires new models of deliveryof care, and we need to
address the ever-changing nature of the work of a nurse. With evolving new role of in nursing
proffesion , collaborative with nursing reseach colleagues will be required to develop
mechanism or eveluationof asessment which further require evidence that support the essential
and exclusive contribution of the the proffesional nurse in outcomes of care and prevention.
Nurse leaders, including clinical nurse educator, who exercise stewardship at the point of the
service, may facilitate practicing nurses' articulation of their shared value priorities, including
respect for persons'dignity and self-determination, as well as equity and fairness. A steward
preserves and promotes what is intrinsically valuable in an experience. Theories invirtue ethics
and discourse ethics supply contexts for clinical nurse educators to clarify how they may
facilitate nurses' articulation or their shared value priorities through particularism and
universalism, as weel as how they safeguard nurses' self-interpretation and discursive reasoning.
Together, clinical nurse educators and nurse may contribute to management decisions that affect
the point of service, and thus, the health care organizations.
5. As a Nurse, what is your take on the following;
> Issues on Sex Outside Marriage
- As a nurse, I agree on issues about sex outside marriage because mostlty here in our country
most of the couple have already have sex and have child/children before they got married.
Havig said that there is also a possibility of many complications arising out of sex before
marriage. And as long as the person is ready to take the responsibility risk or complication tht
might arise in the future he/she ca have sex before marriage.
> Homosexuality
- For me, homosexuality isn't bad because mostly, I observe that relationship in homosexuality
will last for how many years before they got separate rather than the boy to a girl relationship
because their relationship will last a month or a weeks either. But on the other hand Idisagree
about homosexuality because being a christian, it is a sin to have sex or have a relationship with
the same gender.
> Artificial Reproduction
- For my opinion, artificial reproduction is not bad because some women don't like sex with
men to get pregnant, for they just want the artificial reproduction. This is also good to avoid the
spread of the certain diseases like HIV and sterelity due to genital diseases.
> Morality of Abortion
- For my opinion on the morality of abortion, abortion is wrong for some reasons for it is
immorality to kill an unborn child or fetus because doing so destroys our most valuable
possesion, a future of value. Killing a person is wrong it unjustly deprives the victim of her
future;that the fetus has a future similar in morally relevent respect to the future lost by a
competent adult homicide victim. On the other hand abortion is justifiable only if some spacial
and extreme circumstances in which killing competent adult human being is justifiable.
> Rape
- For my opinion on rape, I strongly disagree for rape because being a woman rape is unlawful
sexual activity because this involve through force or threat force or an individual who is
incapable of giving legal consent because of minor status, mental illness and mental
insufficiency
