Description
Keldan is a half-elf, his tanned Qadiran heritage mixes with the pale elven features he gained from his mother. Black ringlets reach his shoulders while a mischevious,
and likeable, smile peaks out of his short, well-groomed beard. Lively dark green eyes contrast his naturally tanned skin, laugh lines just barely beginning to form in the
corner of his eyes. To a highly perceptive eye, metallic brasslike lines cross across his skin in a scaled pattern.

Keldan grew up in Qadira with his elven mother. His father was a master in one of Katheer's colleges of magic. With no family and limited social contacts, his
mother often had Keldan attend his lectures and demonstrations. Keldan watched, without comprehension, as his father incanted and taught students how to pen
spells into their books. How to twist the very fabric of magic along with tricks to power many of their spells with ambient elements. As he grew into adulthood, she
tried to teach him. She sensed the spark of magic inside Keldan but could not find a way to activate it. Try, and try he did, the words in her books always wiggled
away. Eventually, he gave up trying. Spending his time absorbing stories and tales. Picking up tidbits of information from the many people who were happy to talk
to him. In his late teens, his mother burst into their house, sweating and yelling hoarsely for him to gather a bag for they had to flee. He listened to her, quelling his
confusion. He mistakenly assumed she would explain it once they were safe, though she never did. Whatever trouble she had gotten into in Katheer remained
hidden from him. They traveled north into Avistan. Nearly a decade passed. During that time he had separated from his mother and her inane quest to find some
singer in a band. He found love, got married, and had a child. His mother, riding on a wave of chaos, returned into his life claiming to have found his other parent.
Everything after that night blurred. The next thing that had any focus for him was being found on a rooftop in Almas(Andoran capital) trying to fight off the hands of
multiple people, claiming that he was a dragon and would fly to prove it. Investigators found his wife and child, dead. After multiple attempts by the local clergy to
help him recognize what had happened and that he was not a dragon, he was sent to a place one of the leaders knew of. Briarstone. After arriving at Briarstone(the
Saraenite church having paid for the long journey under escort, Keldan repeatedly displayed a number of delusions. He would claim to be a guard watching out for
his wife, who he thought was also there. Other times that there was a dragon trapped under his skin. Over the course of a year, the doctors made progress, finally
weaning him of many of his delusions. To recognize where he was and why. But he kept insisting that a dragon was trying to come out of him. That one of his
mothers was a dragon, traveling the world as a Qadiran man. Singing and helping lost souls. That he could remember growing in an egg, emerging as a small
child, much to his (dragon)mothers disappointment. The doctors wouldn't release him from Briarstone, not yet. But they did allow him free reign inside the grounds
as he was no longer a threat to himself or others, just disconnected from reality.
