● Using blockchains, the physical flow of goods can be mapped to the digital flow using
RFID sensors at every level.

● The digital flow is then stored in the immutable blockchain ledger for anyone to verify.

● End user can easily access this information to ensure the provenance of the end product

 Node Architecture
Node architecture would vary for different parties in the supply chain process. Nodes will also integrate
with other services to fetch and store data as per the requirements. Here the external services which are
integrating with the nodes are:

● Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)

● Cloud Based Network
● Banking System
● Real time data services
● Intelligent Business services (IBS)

Blockchain nodes should have standards and processes, which help in integration with these services.

There are four major participants for Supply chain process with Blockchain:

● Farmers
● Processor
● Distributor
● Retailer

Smart Contract issued over the Blockchain can used to record the transactions. Following process can be
initiated:

● Store the digital identity of coffee as a unique id on the Blockchain.

● Every participant can submit a transaction against that unique id to record the data over Blockchain.

● Every product can be tracked with a unique ID using a transaction in the blockchain.

● Transaction can carry origin details, batch numbers, ambient information, GPS coordinates, etc.
○ Use the same unique id of the product.
○ Use the UTXO model to interlink the transaction

● Shipment received by the destination country can be tracked for all the defined properties all through
the shipping process.

 SCM Process Flow with Blockchain
● For cross border payments, the warehouses receiving the shipment from ports can update the status
of the product to share with other buyers as well.

● Shipments can then be tracked from warehouses to wholesale distributors using the same
transaction ID reducing the inventory losses.

● Wholesale houses can then verify the quality of the product and also create another transaction
which includes that information.

● Retailers can then track sales volume and customer feedback closing the complete loop.
